The new gym? Haven't heard that expression before. I just came up with it. From the sound of it she probably has a weighty set of exercise balls and provides at least a few minutes of cardio for each person that steps on...... Any woman can be the Gym for the right guy!

Fiat Looks To Maserati To Become A Profit Driver :Comments
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Maserati
A continuation of showing he has lost it and is not thinking clearly with this kind of thinking. Kill off Alpha, focus on fixing the mess of poor quality auto's they have now and tighten the spending to focus on delivering world class autos! -
G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.CheersandGears.com Oregon DOT starts first in Nation Charge per mile program! The new MyOReGO program kicked off July 1st with a 1.5 cent per mile charge for driving on Oregon roads. This new program allows people to sign up and receive a credit for state gas tax paid at the pump. Quoting per their web site OReGO covers the following: OReGO volunteers will pay a road usage charge for the amount of miles they drive, instead of the fuel tax. The OReGO road usage charge is set at 1.5 cents per mile. Volunteers will get a credit on their bill to offset the fuel tax they pay at the pump. Volunteers will have their choice of secure mileage reporting options offered by OReGO’s private-sector partners. Volunteers’ personal information will be kept secure and private. The first phase of OReGO is limited to 5,000 cars and light-duty commercial vehicles. You can check out their calculate and compare subsection, Choices and more. Over the last few weeks many various news outlets have covered this story and you can read both the State of Oregon news release and other news outlets stories on this. http://www.myorego.org/press-room/news/ This program will run and allow the state to see if it makes better sense to charge everyone a per mile road tax versus a gas tax. Many myself included believe we need to move away and dump the whole petrol / alternative fuel tax and have everyone pay a per mile tax for use of the roads. Thoughts? Sound off!

it's interesting. Elio has been going around to all of the states to get this classified as a car instead of a motorcycle. I would like to do an article about that. So what is gained by getting this classified as a car rather than a trike? I thought it was cheaper and easier to get on the road as a 3 wheeled trike than a car? No helmet laws. Good point, totally forgot just because it is enclosed as a motorcycle they would still require a helmet. Thanks for pointing it out.

Europe's fondness for the manual has nothing to do with "appreciating driving" and everything to do with $10 per gallon gasoline (adjust for inflation as you go back in time). The only reason that manuals are still popular in Europe even though automatics have achieved efficiency parity is that old habits and opinions are hard to break. I'm pretty sure that's over simplifying. Otherwise why would European manufacturers, particularly German ones, pride themselves on sharp handling and dynamics? Why are automatics still typically relegated to older or disabled folks that can't comfortably work 3 pedals? Maybe at one point there was necessity, but it seems to have also spawned a culture of people that enjoy fun-to-drive cars and prefer to shift their own gears. Would be interesting to have a list of the German auto companies and the sales by category. Automatic Dual Clutch semi manual trans Manual trans I suspect that MB, BMW, Porsche and Audi are selling few sticks in comparison to automatics. -

I have no desire to ever own a CVT equipped vehicle. As much as a conventional auto takes away from driver involvement and feel versus a manual, a CVT takes it that much further. I don't condone the appliance mentality so wide spread in the U.S., we invented the automotive society, and we seem to be the first to take it for granted and suck the life out of it. I also read that the CVT feel is one of the #1 complaints about Nissan cars from consumers, so I'm not just some crotchety conservative 28 year old! RESPONSE: My 28yr old son has a Jeep Patriot Trail Rated edition and is fine with the CVT. As he says, "Dad, as long as I get up the mountain to snowboard and get around, who cares about the transmission type." He is more about use of the auto than about the components and I think most of the 20 to 30 year olds see auto's like their cell phone, a tool to use and ignore. -
Chevrolet News:Chevrolet Takes Aim At F-150's Aluminum In New Ad
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
I found it funny. Super funny.However...Im in the camp you mentioned that when Chevy finally goes all out with the aluminium stuff all around and not just on the hood...Ill be ready to call out Chevy for it. One thing I dont like is hypocrite stuff... Sure...the commercial was funny, sure it packs a punch...but how much of that punch will come back to bite Chevy in the butt? That commercial is only fine for the people that love Chevy and hate Ford... Lets face it...that commercial wont make die hard Ford guys dump the F-150 just because Chevy says aluminium is less safe than high strength steel... That commercial might get some sales from people in between...those that are not brand loyal to Ford or Chevy...and when Chevy eventually goes aluminium like the F-150...then those people that bought the Silverado based on that bear....well...they will feel duped...and may never buy a Chevy again... Why I say that? Because there are many people out there that swear by the words of marketers...they are soooo naive that they believe everything they hear on TV...and these people...get flustered very easily when they find out you messed with them... Im sure Silverado sales wont go caca just because of this very funny commercial...but I am not impressed by the message behind it either. I don't think the issue with dissing Ford is because of the aluminum as such, but rather the lack of results that the aluminum brought. Simply put, it wasn't the game-changer that it was hyped up to be. When GM (and Mopar for that matter) start going aluminum-intensive with their trucks I'm sure that they will be scrutinized as closely as Ford's were, and if they're still as tubby and inefficient as previously they'll be called out for it too. GM & RAM have never been at "Tubby" as FORD. Ford only got to the weight of GM and RAM by using the aluminum bed. When GM and RAM go Aluminum, they will drop another big chunk of weight and FORD will be back at the rear moving it's TUBBY butt around.- 64 replies

What do you mean by a chart? Currently I look at it and we have the list of stories and what I see as a traditional news letter, nice but I am thinking especially for smartphone use, if we have a chart at the top that lists all the hot stories and links so it jumps to those stories, people can then choose what they want to read rather than scroll down. I know in my engineering test cases, I always use excel and at the top of the document have a spreadsheet listing out what all is in the document and links so you can jump to what is of interest to you. Hope this makes sense, I am operating on 2 hrs of sleep so sorry if it is not clear. So you want a list of stories without the picture and teaser text? That is my thinking for having it be more mobile friendly. List of the stories and then you can have an expanded section with pictures and brief overview below for people on computers and tablets. Just trying to think on how we can cover both the mobile smartphone phablet area and the desktop/laptop/tablet users.

Overall I love the newsletter, only thing I can think of is a consolidated summary at the beginning so one could see what all is in the newsletter and not topics. I end up flipping through the newsletter to see what all is there, I would love to see a chart at the beginning showing what all has gone on in the forums.

Just got back from my trip to Fairmount Mineral Hot springs in Canada, love that place. Took a day to drive to Banf, then Lake Louise and hike up to the glaciers and then ran up to Jasper for dinner and drove north to enjoy the bright long day till I ran out of road and turned around and drove back to Fairmount. Awesome 24hr road trip and hike.

I like the interior of the new Camaro much much better than Mustang. The mustang's interior is a bit of a let down after seeing the sexy exterior..... plus, I still loath Sync. BUT BUT BUT Sync is your ultimate embedded Microsoft Kernel Friend so it has to be better than anything else!- 27 replies
