Chevrolet News:All-Electric Blazer SS Preview by Chevrolet
G. David Felt replied to G. David Felt's topic in Chevrolet
Nope, wrong, Blazer SS is an on-road performance ride. Z71 Blazer would be the off-road performance version. Bison Blazer is another off-road package version for performance fun. Chevrolet has plenty of competitor packages to go up against Jeep. -
Seems like Chevrolet Performance is now hosting Desktop backgrounds of a wide range of autos. Vehicles (theblock.com)

Here is a truck for @balthazar and everyone else that likes a wicked fast built ride. Plenty of pictures and info on this family built ride. The C10 Slayer is Built for Boost (theblock.com) Seems to have all catalog parts for over 1,000 hp right out of the crate with parts bolted on.

Sound of Quiet, another long workday, have it quiet for extra focus.

Seems Titan Fuel Tanks make extra size capacity tanks to replace OEM tanks. I see they have a 56 gallon tank for your truck. That should take care of you. TITAN Fuel Tanks - America's Leading High Capacity Tank Manufacturer

Chevrolet News:All-Electric Blazer SS Preview by Chevrolet
G. David Felt replied to G. David Felt's topic in Chevrolet
Realized that in the press release they say re-design, but in the flyer I downloaded and posted it says refreshed. LOL, clearly left hand is not talking to the right hand! Will be interesting to see what the Blazer SS EV ends up looking like. Clearly they can show it off soon since for sale spring 2023 means they have to start production this fall I would think. -

Hopefully GM understands that they do not need weird style on an EV and just style the ICE/EV the same. Here is the new refreshed Blazer for 2023 model year. 2023 Chevrolet Blazer Infographic.pdf Video and pictures here: Chevrolet Blazer - 2023 -
Thanks for the update, seems that 3 miles difference than the web site would be the reserve gallons past E maybe?

Let also point out that some states have much cheaper electrical rates than other states so electric makes sense over the current prices of gas. Washington state @ 6 cents per Kilowatt that would allow the Chevy Silverado to do 1200 miles a month @ $28 a month in cost or for 14,400 miles a year @ $336 dollars a year in electric fuel charge here. Diesel here is running @$5 a gallon on average, so even in a Diesel truck at 24 mpg, using GMC Diesel 1500 says it has a 21 gallon tank. So we are looking at a $105 fuel fill up. So that 21 gallon tank would give 504 miles of range, on a 14,400 miles driven equal, that is 28 1/2 tanks of fuel or $2,992.50 per year for fuel costs. Over 10 years if it stays consistent, you have $29,925 Diesel Fuel cost plus the maintenance of that engine. Think I would take the electric over that as that puts the diesel in the same price as Ford's F150 Lighting.

Interesting in the lone teaser about the upcoming GMC EV Truck, seems there is a connection to be tied into the GMC-E truck and the ICE Truck.

This is still the ugliest nose job Chevrolet has done on a truck to me. The only thing that surpasses this for Ugly is the Butt Ugly HD versions.

Needed a break as I worked till midnight last night on tradeshow stuff for our Dell Technology World stuff May 2nd to 5th 2022 in Vegas, so went up skiing this morning. Topped off the Escalade at Costco, regular gas $4.249 per gallon, 18.477 gallons for a $78.51 bill and that was only filling up from 1/3rd tank to full. SS uses Premium, which is now @ Costco $4.66 per gallon, 20 gallons went in last night so $93.20. Yup, wish electrics that fit me were out as I would happily ditch ICE for EV at 6 cents per kilowatt charging at home. Would save me big time.

Very Cool that Kia has updated their roadmap to have 14 BEVs out by 2027 and two of them will be pickups. Yea I guess once Drew gives you detention it stays for life as I have a couple.

Yes, there will always be overlap, but I do believe you could have two luxury divisions that have clearly different style and marketing messages and they would both succeed.
-
I see Kia as more of a Pontiac type division and Hyundai as the Chevrolet. I agree both have their own twist that sets them apart now compared to when they first started and the badge engineering was so bad, many thought why have both. Now it is clearer that they both have gone their own path and while still using the same platform, have clearly defined their own style.

According to the Mercedes-Benz group that makes up everything we have the following: On February 1, 2022, the previous Daimler AG was renamed Mercedes-Benz Group AG and Daimler Mobility AG became Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG. The former Daimler Trucks & Buses division was listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on December 10, 2021. Figures within financial statements have therefore been split into continued and discontinued operations. In line with the newly formed Group divisions, the reporting structure and the prior-year figures have been adjusted accordingly. All figures are preliminary and unaudited. Mercedes-Benz Group revenue reached €168 billion (2020: €154.3 billion). The share from continuing operations was €133.9 billion (2020: €121.8 billion). Group EBIT was €29.1 billion (2020: €6.6 billion), thereof the share from continuing operations was €16.0 billion (2020: €6.1 billion). Adjusted EBIT, reflecting the underlying business, was €19.2 billion (2020: €8.6 billion). Group net profit was €23.4 billion (2020: €4.0 billion). The share from continuing operations was €11.1 billion (2020: €4.0 billion). In 2021, net profit excluding the deconsolidation result rose to €14.2 billion (2020: €4.0 billion). Earnings per share, excluding the deconsolidation result, rose by 280% to €12.89 (2020: €3.39). So the end result is we have a solid company but let's see as various section wind down how 2022 ends up as Compared to other auto companies, MB was down 5% over 2020 sales in auto's sold and the numbers for 2022 are not stellar yet either. 2021 (Full Year) Global: Mercedes-Benz and Smart Sales Worldwide by Region and Model - Car Sales Statistics (best-selling-cars.com) Europe has even stricter air standards that started with 2022 and as per the report above, MB is expected to see continued decline in ICE sales while growth in electric, but not expected to offset the ICE decline yet.

Kia and Hyundai were both value brands for Korea and the world, just different styles, much the same as Chevrolet / GMC. GMC and Hyundai have a few more luxury packages than the Chevrolet/Kia. They really do not have midrange like Buick, but then Hyundai has added more luxury packages so I guess in this regards you could say Kia/Hyundai/Genesis as the entry, mid and luxury line, but then Kia is so different from the other two that you could have Kia have a luxury performance line to go with their style.
