Quick Drive: 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro CrewMax
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Reviews
Yup, plenty of the Turda out here. Plenty of the old Toy Pickups with frame issues too. This is a pic from Pittsburg where they salt so heavily to insure making you have to buy a new auto every 4 to 5 years I guess. New England talking about how fast the frames rust out due to the salt exposure. 2004 Toyota Tacoma has the frame rust out in 2016. 12 years. I have never seen this on a Ford or GM truck before. But I do get that everything rusts out.- 94 replies

When your dated like a baby boomer, in a baby boomer's eyes it might seem more reliable, but clearly it is stuck in the past. I have seen just as many on tow trucks as I have seen fords or GM. Would be interesting to see the average age of buyers for these trucks.- 94 replies

This is a good review of the roomiest CUVs out there. https://cars.usnews.com/cars-trucks/roomiest-suvs-for-the-money

Agree, but I honestly do not believe the SkyActive Technology is truly class leading in regards to emissions and fuel economy. I think they figured people would buy the diesel giving up fuel economy for a smidgen cleaner emission, but neither really delivered to market. Mazda had so many recalls in Europe, reviews there pretty much blast it, so I was honestly surprised when it came to the US. To me the engine is a failure.

Based on reading this, I believe the Mazda Diesel will never happen in the use now that the CX5 Diesel had one year of sales and was killed. While as the story says they have it as a future model on the web site, I doubt the Diesel 6 will ever come to America. Diesel is dead as a need for cars, trucks or CUV/SUV auto sales out side of traditional full size truck sales for trailer pulling. https://www.motortrend.com/news/2020-mazda-6-diesel-details-update/

Nissan News: Nissan Ariya EV Possibly Marks A Comeback
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Nissan
Considering your profile does not say where you live, one cannot understand where your coming from. Clearly here on the west coast, the desire for EVs far out weights ICE and lots of people are waiting for selection of Choice. Newly built homes, condo's and even apartments all have charging built in. The West Coast Super highway, Highway I5 has chargers everywhere as do the cities and now we have the power companies starting to install on the smaller state freeways and roads to ensure plenty of choice for charging. I would say it depends on where you live and the attitude of the multi-cultural society as people on the west coast have clearly embraced EVs. Yes I have only ICE as I await full size SUV/Trucks that are EV to purchase.- 32 replies

Nissan News: Nissan Ariya EV Possibly Marks A Comeback
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Nissan
I know that in my household, there will not ever be another new ICE auto. Wife and I will stay with our 1994 GMC SLE Suburban in conversion to Electric. 2006 Escalade ESV ICE and 2008 Trailblazer SS. Daughter is holding onto her 1999 Dodge Durango and my son did buy out his lease on his 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Everyone is waiting for EVs to come out to replace the ICE with. We are not the Jones Jones race people that is for sure. After all this 5 auto family has 27, 21, 14, 12 and of course 4 year old auto's with the son having the youngest auto.- 32 replies

So small, hard for anyone over the average 5'8" tall to get into. Subaru is built for tiny people. Good cars, but built for tiny people.

Loving the new 2020 Ram Heavy Duty Black edition truck. Black Chrome really sets this right! This looks so far classier than the current butt ugly Chevrolet trucks.

Nissan News: Nissan Ariya EV Possibly Marks A Comeback
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Nissan
I think the Hummer by GMC and the rest of the EV line up will prove to be very desirable. An auto that has passion with less required maintenance will serve people well. Excited for what is coming and willing to give Mary a chance to prove everyone wrong about passion for auto's. If they do not deliver with quality exterior / interior EVs, than I would agree with you that it is time for new leadership.- 32 replies

I can totally understand that. I used to do that also, but then found slow response from our Durham Datacenter to my needs and my boss asked me if I could change anything what would I change. I said, 2 30" 4K monitors, docking station and a workstation class laptop with 64GB ram and SSD drives. I got it more or less. My laptop is a Dell Precision 5540 with 32GB ram, 4TB NvME HD, Touchscreen with pen, windows 10 64bit, enhanced docking station a USB C charging ports and wireless pad, natural keyboard and wireless mouse. Now I am set to never leave my house for work again. I also got to take my expensive custom office chair and standing desk from our Seattle office.

Building virtual training vApps for our products, I usually upload to my vSphere setup images that run between 500GB to 1 TB in size, so upload I use as heavily as download. I know I am an exception to what most people do. I know the wife already notices a difference in watching her shows on netflix, VUDU, Hulu, YouTubeTV. Have to say that it is much cheaper having these streaming services with internet than using the Fios TV I used to have on FIOS Internet. Was usualy betwen $200 to 300 a month. So happy to be down to about $150 a month for everything. Ziply is who bought out the PNW Frontier FIOS business and is investing heavy to take it to the bleeding edge. Liking what I see so far.
