  1. MOST PEOPLE? I know I am not poor but am not rich and most of my coworkers barely saw a blip in their paycheck as did I, the few extra dollars every 2 weeks did nothing for changing the way I save / spend. I honestly do not know where the media or idiot leadership in DC got saying that paychecks would get bigger. Considering the years of no pay raises due to the depression we were in from 2007 to 2012, Costs have gone up and so there is no extra money for splurging. I doubt with the increased craziness of costs that anyone noticed that they had extra income to spend in their paychecks.
  2. Lets look at the 25% tariff hit: According to GM Authority quoting Detroit free press: http://gmauthority.com/blog/2019/04/trump-proposes-25-tariff-on-all-cars-made-in-mexico/ GM built 801,163 vehicles at its three Mexican assembly plants between January and November of 2018, 693,782 of which were exported to the United States or Canada. GM cars built in Mexico include the Chevrolet Blazer, Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback, Chevrolet Equinox Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Chevrolet Trax, GMC Sierra 1500 and GMC Terrain. Read more: http://gmauthority.com/blog/2019/04/trump-proposes-25-tariff-on-all-cars-made-in-mexico/#ixzz5kSCkMfpy And according to the latest financial figures the average price of these auto's was $35,000 per Detroit Free Press Story. So this 25% Tariff on these auto's equals $8,750 on average which seems to be focused on allot of lower tier auto's which again hits the poor to low income that want a nice auto. End result is these idiotic threats of Tariffs are counter productive to the good of Americans, Canadians, and Mexicans. There are allot of Cans that are being hurt by incompetent leadership.
  3. Smoking sure has destroyed her looks. Bummer as I liked her in the Terminator series. This is what they mean by having Junk in your Trunk! Baby got back!
  4. Very cool to see they are upgrading the engines and interior, now to get them to get onto a competitive luxury level on the trim.
  5. Agree, the next gen battery packs, solid state and super conductors is going to really change people impression of EV versus ICE.
  6. @oldshurst442 The cruise ships used to be majestic, now they are an eye sore with those paint jobs. Plus who wants to be stuck for a week on a boat with 8000 other people.
  7. So then add a robot driver like in Total Recall
  8. Usually auto nav's are for sure 1 year but most usually 2yrs behind the latest update. I bought the last year updates were available for my auto's, 2012 so I have it up to date for local driving but really this is the benefit of an Android or Apple play head unit, at least you know you have the latest maps.
  9. Gotta start somewhere, I can see Lyft and Uber doing this to remove the people part that has also brought issues with rape, assault, even death. Down south in Tacoma, police are looking for a man who is posing as an Uber driver and raping woman. I can see these companies fully wanting a level 5 auto for their fleet to replace human drivers and insure the safety of the passengers.
  10. 1999 all over again, the sky is falling and why oh why did they code it this way. Yes, I suspect those that have been using old systems are going to really get worked up over this. Wonder if my sister who hates change will freak out with her old Garmin system.
  11. Enjoy this video, 100 years ago as Rolls Royce points out they did custom coaches with electric motors and are going back to what pure quiet luxury is all about. Have to say I really like this luxury car! WOW, The Bentley EXP 12 6e sports car is a true Luxury car that I would love to drive. As they say ultimate luxury with effortless acceleration effort of ultimate torque, Performance refinement.
  12. I think you missed the point I was making, to quote my original post: "I have come to the same conclusion on electric motors as it is with ICE." Yes conversions are novelty to many, but they still show that electric motors are just as different as ICE motors. Everyone who builds them tends to build differently and so sound, response, etc. is different and while you and I will for sure my friend have a difference of what is luxury versus performance, I am willing to bet that as SMK stated, in a Rolls or Bently, those people care about how Quiet it is over the size of the motor. They want effortless movement in ubber luxury. I can easily see an electric replacing a V12 for smoothness.
  13. Nice to hear, how about actual production. We have yet to see anything since the ownership change. I wonder when they actually will start building auto's for sale?
  14. Idiot POTUS45 and his incompetent business bully approach clearly threatens global trade in ways he is incapable of understanding as he would not do such moronic comments if he was a real businessman. This is so insulting to our country and the world the lack of professional leadership in DC. This approach to jobs, trade, etc. is going to hurt the poor to low income the most as costs across the board will go up. Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic.
  15. I loved the Turbo 4 SVO from the 80's that was a fun Mustang. This could be very cool. Interesting to see what they bring.
  16. I would have to disagree with you, having been in multiple difference electric conversions, I have come to the same conclusion on electric motors as it is with ICE. The type of motor be it AC or DC and how it is built all plays into the personality of the motor and the noise it creates. I totally respect a V12, V8, V6 and 4 bangers. I honestly have no respect for what I have experienced in 3 or 2 cylinder motors especially the noisy dirty 2-stroke motors. Personality of electrics is very limited to most people due to the few rare auto's out there. Yet if you have ever used an electric boat motor, there are big differences between them just as I have seen in Auto motors. I think Porsche is keenly aware of the need for motor personality and it can be heard here in the latest video of the Taycan Mules.
  17. Boat rental time to get away from the masses. Bad News Trump just made you a Terrorist for Visiting Cuba. Good News, They have Social Health Care in Prison.
  18. YAWN, Meh, no big deal or anything special to see here. The engine is a dead duck flying. I really wonder how many they expect to sell over the next 5 years.
  19. I have honestly thought of that as well. Two things is one style, has it grown old, stale, uninteresting and two Fit / Finish in comparison to other brands? Competition is very much heating up and while I am a fan of Mary and her drive for sustainable profits, I do question the short term thinking in regards to the name plate products they currently have since the EVs are not ready to role out yet. The excitement factor is something to question and not just at GM but other OEMs as well. As @balthazar has pointed out, when was the last time Mercedes showed us a concept and actually then built it? Yes, many build concepts as style studies to gage attendees reactions, but were never intended to be built and other times you have concepts such as what Cadillac has done in the last couple that people have loved and they have failed to build them let alone refresh the current products to build on the excitement it generates. Final point is the amount of debt people have, many just cannot afford to trade in / trade up. So the market will suffer. My gut tells me we have finally entered the bear market that will see a 12 to 18 months of soft sales till various new EVs show up and actual new product is available for sale.
  20. Over all MB is starting to make the same mistakes of old GM, sitting on models longer and updating them later and missing the desire by the public.
  21. Yup, I figure the person does not understand the EV power train and is building for a look or maybe a cover that looks like a Diff but just covers the motor? ?‍♂️
  22. I would bet his wife already has considerable assets in her own name some where in the world. He will get out, leave the country and never return as he retires to some non extradition treaty country.
  23. The 2 to 1 Newest CUV manufacture is hitting home runs.
  24. We have always known that Tesla is a cult favorite and like Apple will have to continue to ramp efficient building of their auto's. This is a normal stumble for them and with the China manufacturing plant coming on line later this year, I would expect sales to stay consistent as they cover the world minus China from America. I expect this to also push on them to get the Model Y into production so they have their S3XY portfolio going. ? I wonder if the truck will be a Model ! so that they can put the exclamation mark on that S3XY! portfolio?
