  1. I would agree with everything you say, but the stick will not happen. Stick is dead and not worth the R&D cost to build for new future auto's. Plus less efficient in many ways which you know that. I agree, sticks can be much more fun than an auto, but the days of stick are over.
  2. Meh, Cars are a dying lot, not interested.
  3. Cost, Cost of repairs, Cost of Maintenance, Cost of owning an MB Black Hole that just sucks money as they suck worse in reliability in real world than even on the ratings Charts. GC are really bulletproof and cheap to repair when they do need it in comparison to the MB.
  4. Due to a busy New Years Eve and New Years Day, I spent my last day of 2017 up on the slope at Stevens Pass skiing. We have had a week of powder dumping and as such 3-5 feet of powder was all over. Legs are worn out and I am tired but feel great. People Arriving, 8am and getting ready for the lifts to open at 9am. In line at Hogs and looking up the mountain at all the fresh powder For a snowy day, had a rare break over Double Black Diamond, the really high run in the middle of the picture. In Line at Kehrs Chair to ride up there to pound the powder. Heading to the back side of what is called MIlls valley for more powder pounding. Hidden Gem, many people ignore this run called International, single black diamond run but talk about awesome powder. Happy blurry me, heading down the mountain after a long day of awesome Powder Pounding fun.
  5. What are your New Year's Eve and New Year's Day Traditions? Since I am starting this off, I will tell you what Mine are, been the same for the last 26 years of Marriage. I am married to a Korean and they have very specific things that are done. We start off with a Korean Pot sticker making party in the first week of Dec. Make hundreds, people who help get some to take home, most are kept for use in what is called Korean New Year's Day Soup. We then start on the 26th and make a ton of homemade Beef broth with flank steak in it that is then shredded. We also make a wide variety of Korean side dishes from scratch. This takes multiple days as to why we start early. Then on New Year's eve, we clean the house, Korean custom, always start the new year off with a very clean house. New Years day, Koreans go and visit each other, friends and family stop by all day to visit, wish each other a happy new year and to have a bowl of New Year Soup. What is in the soup? Beef broth, rice cakes, potstickers, shredded beef, green onion, optional egg and optional seaweed. So What is your traditions?
  6. Also big maintenance cost differences between them.
  7. Can you just imagine the Alphabet you would have on the back of your auto? RDX SH-AWD P-AWS VTEC
  8. Always go for a new Apple Play / Android Auto Head unit and still get the car you really like.
  9. Seems China is Banning 553 Auto Models from being sold starting Jan 1st 2018 to help reduce pollution. Top 3 is: "Models include FAW VW’s Audi FV7145LCDBG sedan, Beijing Benz’s Benz BJ7302ETAL2 sedan and Shanghai GM’s Chevrolet SGM7161DAA2 sedan." Interesting Story at Bloomberg: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-12-28/china-to-stop-production-of-553-vehicle-models-over-fuel-use
  10. I could not decide which one I liked best, so here are two from me.
  11. Very Cool balthazar, you made me wonder and I looked at my profile and see I have been here since 2005, so 12 years for me. WOW, time have flown by.
  12. Nissan needs new powertrain line up period for all trucks / cuv / suv.
  13. Outstanding overview of 2017 auto's, Love it.
  14. Interior room is a big difference, if your over 6' tall, then go XT5 as the SRX is just tight in all ways. If your under 6' then it comes down to style of bullet train like (srx) or breadbox (xt5) IMHO from a style standpoint and interior room. Powertrain, SRX is fine with the V6, Turbo 4 was a blast to drive but does drink Gas on the SRX. XT5 is a decent performer for the V6 they put in it, but you have no other choices. I do like the updated CUE in the XT5, but then I also never had a problem even though others have said they had slow response from CUE in the SRX.
  15. I totally agree, the black plastic that luxury brands seem to be using more of to me is clear CHEAPNESS! It was fine on an Avalanche or the Honda what ever it was called, but when you are paying the prices for a luxury product, black plastic is the cheapest way you can go IMHO.
  16. Sorry Drew, did not mean to stir up the pot, just was talking with a guy about transplants and he has a friend with a transplant porsche, so was searching the net to see what was out there. @oldshurst442 I loved the last Jedi, Thought it was a great hand off movie to the next generation. Worth seeing in 2D, Saw it in 3D and while cool, I would say save your money. I have also seen the reviews, but talking to coworkers who saw the New Jumanji, Welcome to the Jungle, people liked it.
  17. Some Very Cool EV auto's coming.
  18. Amazing the amount of Porsche that are converted with GM V8. https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=Porsche+GM+V8+conversions&FORM=HDRSC2
  19. Meh, they are already giving the CUV a black eye with the attitude about hybrids or electrification. This just says, we have no skill and really would not like to learn but just want peoples money for an existing auto now. Another failure of FCA with the wasted money in Alfa.
  20. No surprise here. Having been in a Rogue lately, I was not impressed but very disappointed. Tight space, inefficient interior design. Most people find better options than what Nissan is building and as such, only way to keep things going is Rental sales.
  21. To use what some of you seem to think makes an auto best, sales numbers. GM has built the best V8 based on pure sales numbers alone since it is the leading built engine. Small Block V8 pushrod. So how would you state what the best V8 engine is? Probably one of those over rated DOHC engines that revs a ton, produces a decent number of HP and weak Torque like so many European engines or Asian engines do? Just saying if you go by sales numbers, GM is the best if not one of the top two in the world and I believe Ford would be right there with them. I would have to disagree with you as I have seen way too many people look at the crazy cost to keep those engines running and end up going for reliability and long life. In goes the SBC.
  22. This is why we see so many auto's from JEEP, Ford, Mercedes-Benz to Asian auto's that end up on some custom auto builders shop and a Small Block GM V8 ends up under the hood. GM has built the world's best V8 engine and as some are so big on using sales numbers to prove their auto is better than the GM V8. This just proves this many times over as the best auto engine out there period is the Pushrod V8 IMHO.
  23. I agree, having helped my wife research info for her college degree and seeing that schools clearly state you NEVER USE WIKIPEDIA as it is grossly inaccurate, I also cannot trust it as a published site of solid info, but it is an interesting site of info which I still have also used, but do my best to ignore.
  24. This this is one of my own issues with GM and their separate groups building stuff even in the same family as they ignore how to build in lower cost. The 1.6T, 2.0, 2.5, etc. all should be based on the same engine family block design. Isolated groups makes for expensive and sometimes poor design choices. See and yet, I know MB pushes AWD a ton and yet while I consider myself an Auto person, due to the coupe design and being a car which I am not a car person, I rely on others to share the wealth and as such, since the FWD/RWD is not front page, but having to go into lower levels, I missed this till this discussion came up. MB could kill off the CLA/GLA and I doubt many will care or notice as they will move to other options in the badge family if they really want it.
  25. Laugh of the day, New neighbors, 5 inches of snow on xmas day, kids outside playing and wife sees husband leaving, Yells be careful, it looks slick. Husband response, that is why we bought a 4x4, it knows how to drive in the snow and drives off with a if we were in the city we would not need this. Amazing the people that grow up in the city are clueless about the suburbs.
