  1. Some days you can only shake your head and wonder the idiots who were driving. Multi car accident on the commute in this morning. 2 mini's and a Ford Excursion, AKA Ford Valdes. No need to say who won the mash up of metal. Everyone looked ok, yet one person was crying as their phone was smashed. I think they were more upset over the phone than their totaled mini.
  2. I saw another story with BMW engineering interview that the design of the i3 did not lend itself to be lengthened or changed outside of the current style. In other words, they designed a great car with limited flexibility from an expansion of models standpoint. I suspect BMW thought the EV market would not change the way that it did and they would still have a niche high priced product for years to come. Sadly that has changed overnight. Bolt bit them hard.
  3. Yup, Watch Up in the Air, George did a great job and it really does cover how worker bees see certain people. You're just doing your job but for some you're the grim ripper of unemployment. Stay positive as like I stated, you're just doing your job and it is nothing personal. People fear their jobs in times of uncertainty and we are definitely in that. On another note and I really cannot seem to find an answer and I am not trying to start a political pissing match, but with federal laws against sexual harassment, most people are fired when they do this. With all the clear evidence of Potus 45 doing it especially against MSNBC and both GOP and Demo in an uproar over this, why is Potus exempt from these very same laws?
  4. I get your message and why I only buy Weathertech floor mats. Weathertech web site This company which had plants in UK and China brought everything back to the US to make sure his neighbors and others that wanted American Made products had them plus making sure kids were not working and building them in China or the workers being abused. The whole story is on their web site, but when the partial owner bought the whole company and reviewed everything, I feel he did the right thing and now he has a growing company that those in the know respect and use.
  5. He nailed it soo true!
  6. Come on Horse, I gave you a perfect opening to pummel me and make some sarcastic remark! Like you I would love to have everything produced here in the US. But with a Global economy, that will never happen. So some lite humor and a focus on what can be done, buy as much US made product as possible to support my fellow citizen, then move onto best quality built products from around the world.
  7. As long as North America continues to build my full size SUVs, I could care less about where everything else is produced.
  8. Clearly see the family connection as that dash is a clear clone of the Jeep Wrangler dash. FCA clearly is not bothering to even try covering up the rebadge. Over all, except for hard core Ram fans, I doubt this will do anything to help gain sales. I also doubt we will see a diesel in the first year at least.
  9. It is amazing to see how many people swap out their Benz motors for a reliable LS engine. https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=Mercedes+LS+Engine+Swap&FORM=IDMHDL
  10. Heck if your going to pay the type of coin for an RS5, why not just buy an old auto you love and put in the powertrain you really want and have an cheaper auto to insure with modern peformance powertrain from the automakers performance department. If the company does not make it, GM Performance can provide a great plug and play solution.
  11. So True This is just a MB with a Chrysler logo on it.
  12. Loved the story right under that titled "I would be scared too if I was Trump!" That had me so cracking up and wondering why the US has not started a recall vote on Potus. Back on subject of the slowness of this site, is to see how it has affected big companies: http://money.usnews.com/investing/news/articles/2017-06-29/global-shipping-feels-fallout-from-maersk-cyber-attack http://money.cnn.com/2017/05/14/technology/global-cyberattack-explanation/index.html https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/may/12/global-cyber-attack-ransomware-nsa-uk-nhs http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/27/europe/chernobyl-cyber-attack/index.html This final story just cracks me up, how Wanna Cry virus demands 300 Bitcoins to restore access to your computer and then boom. The company that hosted their email account shut them down so they could not collect and left 10's of thousands with locked computers. http://www.euronews.com/2017/06/28/global-eternal-blue-cyber-attack-hits-australian-chocolate-factory-wanna-cry I really have to wonder about those that open email attached files from unknown sources.
  13. Did I hear you say a Mismo Juke? O'h wait I read that wrong, a Nismo 370
  14. Yes might be interesting is the new 3 series is truly an ICE / EV platform. Yet with that, I do still wonder about using that kind of platform for EV's as there are plenty of limitations on an EV. I have to think they would lose considerable trunk space or internal space using an ICE platform. I get the cost associated with a pure EV platform like BMW did with the i Series as carbon fiber is not cheap. Yet, battery packaging has not changed that much that you could get a 400km pack into an ICE platform without giving up something. To me that would have to be trunk space, interior space and harder back seats. I am excited but also wondering what this will be as I think the challenges are going to be great for BMW. Maybe kill off 1/3 of their low volume auto's and put that R&D into a true EV product line.
  15. That would be fun. I also think this is the first motors that are artwork worthy. So clean and neat, it is crazy. Wish all auto OEMs would put this kinda effort into building clean engines for the auto's.
  16. Gotta Love Power especially when it comes from the bullet proof LS7 Small Block. Mercury Racing took GM's 7.0 Liter 505 hp / 470 lb-ft torque big block and turned it into an even bigger monster with 750HP naturally aspirated ponies. You can get the Engine custom colored when you order it. They build this in Marine package or auto package. They also have a TTV8 version that is 1700HP. Mercury Racing Web site The Drive has a video with one of the top guys covering the engine and all they did to this including the integrated pressurized fuel lines. Tight clean package that can fit into very small auto's. The Drive Web Site
  17. Cool about the Mission E, I doubt their extreme extreme fast charging will make it into production. Yet with that said, happy to hear they are planning more and surprised that the Macan will end up EV only.
  18. Yeah! between the Wanna Cry virus and the DOS attacks on the Internet over the last week, everywhere has been hit hard. Thank you Drew for all you do!
  19. True, just the gear is cheaper for skiing.
  20. Tesla 100 would be my 1994 Suburban EV converted that I am planning for. Plus I will be happy to bring some nice red wines to drink with chocolate!
  21. Sorry to hear about the Bosch as both my sisters, my parents and me have them and have had no problem with them. What is the current problem and I can talk to my brother in law and see what he says?
  22. Totally agree, that would rock to have those options. This car rocks! Just wish they would produce more than the 300. I am sure they could sell them all.
  23. Nice, I like these packages, while it would be nice to easily find the base model, I have to agree with the writeup that most will be mid or top end level.$35K is not bad for the Top of the line.
  24. I can respect what you are saying and totally agree get what you want.
  25. Plenty of stories about aluminum supplies. Ford hit issues getting the right quality of raw material to build their bed. I would not be surprised if GM is also having to work out supply issues to get more of what they need to make the move.
