So few will be sold as it will essentially be another Halo auto in the multitude of Halo auto's mostly owned by the Arab rim. Bigger discussion is the false assumption by Benz that having Cheap auto's that compete against Ford, Chevrolet, Toyota will give future sales of upgrading to more expensive auto's down the road. Marketing has proven this to be a lie. Many people do not move up from Economy class to mid class to luxury class in the same family of auto's. This is why we have clear Luxury product lines. Down the road in 3-5 years I actually expect these low cost Eco box's from Benz to HURT their Luxury level here in the states.

BMW News: 2018 BMW X3 Is Familiar, Yet Different
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in BMW
Yup that might be in your area, but here in washington it is amazing how many think their BMW CUV can take on a jeep and go anywhere off road. I see plenty getting pulled out by Jeeps, Fords and GM 4x4's. It really is pretty funny. -
Cadillac percpetion
G. David Felt replied to A Horse With No Name's topic in Cadillac Appreciation Club's Cadillac Discussion
I understand and have thought on this. 1) Seats do need a major change. My 2006 Escalade is far more comfortable than the current 2017 Escalade. Not sure why Cadillac seems to think that flat seats are comfortable seats. They can leave the seat belts on the B pillar for the Suburban and Yukon but I like them built into the seats for Cadillac. This is the only thing I would agree on with CR about. 2006 Seats 2017 Seats I think from a luxury stand point, the quality of build is there and they do need to get this message out. Quality built, but they also need to market this in a much better way than their current you tube social media advertising. The lack of seeing Cadillac on the TV, as well as on shows is pathetic. I see more MB and BMW commercials than Cadillac. Right now, Cadillac is not winning by staying silent. I also think they need to have commercials showing the fun you can have in an Escalade. Road Trips, Skiing, Beach, Boating, etc. The Escalade is more than just a badge of wealth you drive it back and forth to Work and to expensive restaurants. They need to show that the SUV can handle the special night out as well as Life in general in a luxury way. MARKETING - Pure and SImple, their marketing sucks and needs to be corrected. -
BMW News: 2018 BMW X3 Is Familiar, Yet Different
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in BMW
On paper they sure like to state the we are a driving machine, but in reality I have yet to see their CUV's actually be able to handle much more than a dirt road with rounded mounds of rock like in the picture that SMK points out. Lets take this out on the Rubicon trail and see how it really handles or any other trail system. I wonder how it would do with the so called Trail Rated system Jeep uses to test their CUVs? -

That is just stupid as I have not had any of that with my Escalade. Some real Biased Idiots work at Consumer Reports. I stopped using them back in the 90's. Sadly too many Lemmings are still wanting to be told what to buy, what to eat, what to drink and buy into this BS. Sad. -
Cadillac News: 2018 Cadillac XTS Puts on A CT6 Face
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
Totally agree, I think GM could bank many sales if they build a EV Roadster. Tesla says their Roadster 2.0 is on the drawing boards for 2019 or 2020 release. I think GM could easily take the BOLT Powertrain and build a Roadster that would just as is give 300 Mile range due to being lighter and grab a bunch of business. Back on Topic, I like the CT6 face on the New XTS. What I would love to see is Cadillac surprise everyone by putting the BOLT powertrain into the ATS and the XT-3. -
I have talked with so many coworkers and friends that have MB or BMW's and have gone to the other brand and not come back. Recently Cadillac is winning MB and BMW owners as I am seeing more new Cadillacs in the parking garage downstairs. I really challenge the thinking that those that buy the cheap Chevy / Toyota versions of MB will come back for a higher level trim version. I see this being like 1% at best. I believe MB is watering down their image that they built here in the US. As such, it will come back to bite them as consumers find better products with better value from other vendors.

Cadillac News: 2018 Cadillac XTS Puts on A CT6 Face
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
So very true, Neighbor bought a new Volt 4 months back and was told he would need to gas up once a month at most by the dealer. He just filled up his first tank after 4 months. Says he loves it. Asked him why not the Bolt? Says his wife did not like the style compared to the VOLT. Says if the BOLT powertrain was in the VOLT, they would have bought it. -

Honda News: Honda Teases Us with the 2018 Accord

Honda is one of the OEMs that is stuck in the past by about 20+ years. Sad in this day that a company with so many solid products is light years behind the competition. -

Cool info as the auto site I found it on had marked it as a Buick LeSabre. Either way very cool car. Love the modern take on the bottom truck and the getting rid of the chrome crap. Same long bed version, even the model year looks the same. Just 4x4 versus 2wd which also has extra tank. Anything else I am missing? Welcome back, Hope you hang around. I can understand loosing interest in an item that many cannot afford now.

Interesting Reading, so to pick up your demon, they will have to schedule to have a notary on site. Pretty much what I would expect for this type of auto with all the restrictions. I am surprised they do not state what type of street tires must be used. Overall very COOL! Love that nothing says you cannot drag race the auto.

Dumb was for an escalade to die...
G. David Felt replied to A Horse With No Name's topic in The Lounge
Poor Escalade EXT, Hope the people inside were OK. Motorcyclist is a Moron, seen so many now and while illegal in Washington State, they are starting to drive down between auto's. Makes one have to worry about hitting the idiots. -

Yawn, no big deal, Ford fans will still buy Ford, GM fans of Chevy or GMC will still buy them. Honestly, plenty can be redone on the trucks to reduce weight and they could have Aluminum external panels with a steel bed. Or high strength steel complete bed, so I am happy to wait and see.

Cadillac News: 2018 Cadillac XTS Puts on A CT6 Face
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
What is that ugly car next to that Lovely Cadillac? Looks like someone went to a ball game, had a spicy hotdog and had to quickly relieve themselves. -
Escalade can keep up and beat pretty much everything MB had in the CUV class and except when well equipped, the only SUV MB has in the Dinosaur of a G-wagon, it pretty much can keep up with it too. G-Wagons are pretty much no different than any other much cheaper 4x4 in base form. Just accept the fact that MB does not have anything that actually does compete Apple to Apple with the Escalade.

No one that age can afford auto's today! Too much debt from over living a non-sustainable lifestyle in college.

Wrong, Totally Wrong, you are really blowing blue smoke past your butt ring of a so called piston. Escalades CAN and DO go off road. Just the badge snobs of even Cadillac think they are above going on dirt trails. I love my top of the line Escalade ESV Platinum and I DO take it off road. I give you our trip in 2015 after my wife graduated from the UW here in Seattle, we went to the Canadian Rockies for a couple weeks, drove all over the national park and many dirt roads that you want a 4x4 or awd. We went to Swansea Mtn. exhibit A: The drive up a dirt road that gets access to their mountain bike trails and while this does not seem bad here, there where many washed out places that you need to be aware of approach and departure angles especially with a big SUV like mine. The road got you to the 5000 ft level of the mountain where you then had to hike the rest of the way to the top. Exhibit B: Trail Head to the top of Swansea Mtn. My lovely wife! Exhibit C: Steep trail to the top of the mountain. Exhibit D: Top of the mountain at 5665. They paraglide off this mountain. Exhibit E the crazy runway! Exhibit F: The View to the west. Then we drove back down and off to the next crazy trail we could find as we explored local places most people do not go. So Escalades can and do go off road.

Gotta love concepts that are just cool GM-X Stiletto was cool as a drawing Pontiacs Stiletto Concept car for the auto show circuit was even better. This would rock 1951 Buick Le Sabre Concept Is it me or have we really not seen any cool concepts from the auto industry in a while?

Jeep News: Spying: 2018 Jeep Wrangler Now In Two-Door Form
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Jeep
Yup, looks just like the 4 door version and not much has really changed even when you look at the pics of the inside. Very basic and yet dated at the same time. But then we are talking wrangler. One wonders if it will ever really change much.- 11 replies
