Bravo for going bigger so us big folks might actually fit and consider one. Boo for the piss poor Hybrid. They should have at least a 50 to 60 mile range in that battery pack. Pathetic.

Totally agree, they rated the Escalade the worst luxury SUV due to cramped interior and poor infotainment system. WTF, I am 6'6" tall and at 280lbs not small, yet the current Escalade is very roomy for me, so what is cramped as they are so vague it is pathetic. CR is not objective but clearly agenda driven by the Asians who pay the most to advertise in their piss poor magazines and books.

BMW News: Rumorpile: BMW 8-Series is Reportedly Go for 2018
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in BMW
Be interesting to see how this stands up against the vaunted MB S and AMG versions. Bet they have a Hybrid / EV version too. -
G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.CheersandGears.com Bosch Selling WaterBoost Injection for Turbo Engines Seems since BMW M4 using a Bosch water injection system that works, Bosch has decided this is what the future is for all turbo engines and has come out with a solution kit to sell to all OEMs of Turbo Engines called WaterBoost. Essentially this is added to the intake side with a water vapor injection to cool the piston, increasing density and driving longer life and more power from the engine. This technology is not new and has been around since WWII when it was used in supercharged planes to assist during hard maneuvers and intense battle fights. The early days of water injection for auto's started with the 1962 Oldsmobile Cutlass Turbo Jetfire, water injection made another appearance in the 1980's in Formula 1 cars. Bosch states 2019 for kit availability to OEMS and aftermarket. As per the Seattle Times story, biggest challenge will be to get the OEMs to redesign their intake system to accept the waterboost injector and customers having to refill the storage bottle with Distilled water. The second issue might not be so hard at least for Diesel owners who are already used to filling up their Urea bottles to clean up their emissions. Yet will the average petro driver want to deal with refilling a water bottle on the engine and how long will the water bottle last, what happens once it is empty, will the engine still run or stop or detune? Interesting times we live in for the auto industry builders. Big question is what is the cost? Will it be worth the 5% greater engine performance, 13% less fuel consumption and 4% less CO2 emitted per the Bosch web site? Info Source Bosch web site Seattle Times web site

MB has failed, the car is hideous with a cheap looking front grill on it and the TT V8 turbo is pathetic. HP and Torque are under what I can get in a Cadillac. So how is this better than the CTS-V? Bigger failure to me is that this is an E Class AMG and in the past they have always outgunned everyone else in HP and Torque. It stops at 155mph when the Cadillac V series tops out at 200mph. Transmission is splitting hairs between 8 and 9 gears. The CTS-V beats this with 640 HP / 630 lb-ft of torque. The only thing I will give it Kudos for is the AWD to RWD / Drift mode. That is cool and I have always felt that the V series needs AWD to go to the next level. Nice try MB, but you failed to push the limits as an AMG.

I realize this is just computer generated images, but the outside is just blah, the interior is even worse. The dash just does not work as it looks like a hatchet job. This will sell to badge snobs but the rest will look to more established better built mid size trucks. The GM twins beat this hands down.

More money to come in working to settle this mess. Plus I have to challenge the statement harm to Diesel fuel. Yes with proper treatment the exhaust can be clean and diesel engines are torque monsters, but diesel is still a very dirty fuel that harms the planet. This did not harm it as it is already bad to begin with. It for sure did not help it. Be interesting to see how all the individual lawsuits are handled or thrown out, or what?

Is Ford Motor Company Falling a Step Behind Rival General Motors?
G. David Felt replied to a topic in Industry News
Even if Lincoln stays like a Lazy boy chair, float ride, squishy tires, etc. There are still plenty of Baby Boomers buying cars that want that type of ride. My father is one of them, he complains about how all the new Cadillacs ride hard, sharp hard edges and wishes he could still get a new DTS and a New first gen SRX. Those to him were Cadillac's best cars ever, even though to me I have to disagree, as Cadillac is building far better auto's now than then. Yet age does have it's requirements. I told him I am sure someone some where has an old low mileage DTS for him to buy and a newer gen 1 SRX. Yes sarcasm is me to my own dad. -
Agree, with the car in track mode, that A10 kept it in peak power. Talk about efficient, I am excited to see the A10 get into more auto's and hopefully they do not dumb down the programing. Image the A10 in a V, love to have the supercharged motor with the A10 in an Escalade V edition.

So Chevy has a great page on the ZL1 now. ZL1 Home Page Autoblog did a story on the ZL1 at Nurburg and how it just killed it. Autoblog story Gotta say watching this video make one want to go to a track and drive like hell.

Yup, I would expect the US and Asian models to meet requirements and end up on sales, I think BMW and MB will see a much reduced Diesel offering. The age of Hybrid / EVs are upon us now. After all, you can clearly make up the torque with an electric motor or two. I also expect the usual folks to jump in here and bash the Hybrid / EV comment.

How about just cutting the price so more people will buy rather than take crazy profits and selling less. If they can make a profit with an $11K discount, clearly they need to drop prices.

1) Car is but ugly. 2) Hate the idea of communal car sharing, most people that do that are nasty dirty and I would never use a car2go or zip as they are just a mess inside. The people clearly car less since it is not really their car. Even with a co-sharing where the other person pays money to share a car, most will see it as a disposable auto. NASTY NASTY NASTY 3) Apps system, great another way for hackers to take over your auto, mess it up or worse, big brother watches you and decides they need to take out someone so they cause you to crash. No Thanks 4) Agree with Ocnblu, worth $25 buck of them paying me to drive this so called auto.
