  1. Yeah...I know! I just wanted to justify myself to you. I wanted for you to see where I come from. I wanted you to see that I wasn't against you for quoting you, but how frustrated I could be with some humans on our stupid assed planet!!!
  2. The Flu is NOT much worse... You call Italy shutting down as media driven hype??? @USA-1 THAT is what I was referring to... The Prime Minister of Canada is in self isolation... https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/cp-newsalert-trudeau-goes-into-self-isolation-over-covid-19 THAT would also mean media driven hype???
  3. True... https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/prevention.html?CDC_AA_refVal=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cdc.gov%2Fcoronavirus%2F2019-ncov%2Fabout%2Fprevention-treatment.html There is currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person. Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet). Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs. Take steps to protect yourself Clean your hands often Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Avoid close contact Avoid close contact with people who are sick Put distance between yourself and other people if COVID-19 is spreading in your community. This is especially important for people who are at higher risk of getting very sick. Take steps to protect others Stay home if you’re sick Stay home if you are sick, except to get medical care. Learn what to do if you are sick. Cover coughs and sneezes Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow. Throw used tissues in the trash. Immediately wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, clean your hands with a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Wear a facemask if you are sick If you are sick: You should wear a facemask when you are around other people (e.g., sharing a room or vehicle) and before you enter a healthcare provider’s office. If you are not able to wear a facemask (for example, because it causes trouble breathing), then you should do your best to cover your coughs and sneezes, and people who are caring for you should wear a facemask if they enter your room. Learn what to do if you are sick. If you are NOT sick: You do not need to wear a facemask unless you are caring for someone who is sick (and they are not able to wear a facemask). Facemasks may be in short supply and they should be saved for caregivers. Clean and disinfect Clean AND disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks. If surfaces are dirty, clean them: Use detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection. To disinfect: Most common EPA-registered household disinfectants will work. Use disinfectants appropriate for the surface. Options include: Diluting your household bleach. To make a bleach solution, mix: 5 tablespoons (1/3rd cup) bleach per gallon of water OR 4 teaspoons bleach per quart of water Follow manufacturer’s instructions for application and proper ventilation. Check to ensure the product is not past its expiration date. Never mix household bleach with ammonia or any other cleanser. Unexpired household bleach will be effective against coronaviruses when properly diluted. Alcohol solutions. Ensure solution has at least 70% alcohol. Other common EPA-registered household disinfectants. Products with EPA-approved emerging viral pathogens pdf icon[7 pages]external icon claims are expected to be effective against COVID-19 based on data for harder to kill viruses. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for all cleaning and disinfection products (e.g., concentration, application method and contact time, etc.). Complete disinfection guidance
  4. Well...we should never panic in any situation. But we shouldnt be so lax and not think about how to protect ourselves either especially saying things like it will blow over and its scare tactics and its the media blowing it out of proportion. When Italy...an entire country of 60 million this time last month had literally zero reasons to think otherwise other than La Vita Bella. And the entire planet for that matter, when 3 weeks ago had a handful of cases and continued life as usual then 3 weeks later the entire country has shut down...with thousands dead... You know...positive attitude is a MUST in these dire times...but we should be aware of the dangers and not take things lightly. 2 days ago...The city of Philadelphia advised the Flyers to play the Bruins game without spectators. The Hockey club said no phoquing way as our fans are salivating to play the Bruins... 2 days later the NBA discovers an NBA player is tested for Covid-19 and halts the season and the NHL follows suit. The Flyers had approx. 20 000 fans that night. What if...ANYBODY in that arena had the virus... You know... hockey players travel to different parts of the continent DAILY... It aint to be taken lightly is alls Im sayin'...
  5. True. And yes its common sense and just good hygiene. But with a virus...especially an airborne virus, you know...none of that makes a difference. Covid-19 is NOT like the Flu. It has Flu like symptoms. NOT the Flu... But yeah...stay home when sick is very true. Stay home with a pandemic like this is also true.
  6. Prime Minister Trudeau and his wife Sophie are in self isolation. His wife was tested for positive for Covid-19. https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/cp-newsalert-trudeau-goes-into-self-isolation-over-covid-19 Tom Hanks with his wife same thing as Rita was tested positive for Covid-19 while in Australia.
  7. Yesterday. Italy closed shop. Literally. Nobody allowed out. No businesses open. Only pharmacies and grocery stores are allowed to be open and only 10 people at a time in the stores shopping. European soccer teams were strongly advised, along with North American sports teams to play in their arenas without spectators. The European soccer teams followed that advice while in North America we pretty much ignored that advice. Only the California hockey teams were to oblige. Still with yesterday. Many American cities canceled their St. Patrick's Day parades including New York and Boston. The two biggest in North America. This morning, the NBA halted and postponed their season. This afternoon. The NHL followed suit. MLB has also postponed preseason and will delay the start of the season. President Trump has closed its borders to European travel to and from. (If Canada does not follow suit, I think President Trump will close its borders with Canada. Although Canada is still a low risk country. For now... Id say...things have ALREADY changed...and DRASTICALLY I MIGHT ADD these last 24 hours or so... Id say things are going to get much much worse...with people infected and borders closed and life halted in the next week... For one...lets see where Canada stands with Covid infections in the next 5 days as Coronavirus has a tendency to double its numbers every 2 days. Canada was at 118 this morning. Now we are at 140. Quebec was at 8 this morning. Now we are at 13. Italy started off slow too. Before we balloon, if it aint too late...we will close down our cities in North America...soon enough. NO! Not because Covid-19 is sooooooo deadly. But its a virus that spreads QUICKLY. And has the potential to be very deadly if got out of hand. And in some places on the planet, like Italy, it HAS gotten out of hand as there arent enough medical staff to care for the infected. And THAT is where the dangers lie... Common guys...get your facts straight. And NO...this will not just blow through....
  8. Oh yes they are!!! Cadillac is selling in nice numbers. Even in North America. Cadillac has/had many sedans in their line-up and not too many CUVs. Now that they culled a few of those sedans and upped their CUV line-up...numbers will go up. Wel...yeah! But the sentence before...those two words asking rhetorically and stupidly "are they?" well... YOU SAID IT YOURSELF!!! That is because Cadillac hasnt really given the people any high priced products to buy to begin with... And the very few that had high price tags, Cadillac botched them...this is true. BUT...the Escalade is 1 high priced Caddy that is NOT botched. The "V" cars are not botched either. And enough "V" product has entered the market that people have taken notice. Except these are sedans... People dont buy sedans in high numbers anymore. Mercedes has seen those sedan numbers drop too... But.. I repeat my post And funny though... you seem to defend Mercedes by NOT caring about ATPs...but ATPs DEFINE the luxury market... If Cadillac sells higher priced vehicles than Mercedes does on a whole...what conclusion do YOU have? YOU already answered that... THAT is luxury to you? Dude...is or isnt Mercedes luxury? (IN NORTH AMERICA) Because if these are the kinds of cars Mercedes wants to peddle to North Americans and people are buying these...and Cadillac ends up selling MORE higher priced cars than Mercedes does...than YOU already have your answer. YOU may not like the answer and be blind to reality...and THAT is OK too... but you or Mercedes aint foolin' me. PS: I saw a family get out of a Metris the other day. The first thing that came to my mind is this: Yup....PURE luxury... That would be a Ford van Chevy and GMC have versions of those too. Again...if YOU think selling vehicles where the market has Chevy and Ford as competitors is selling luxury...IVE GOT SOMETHING TO SELL YOU
  9. Mercedes sells a ton of high priced Chevrolet (Im trolling...BUT, Mercedes DOES sell a ton of "entry level" bullshyte cars and CUVs) These are badge snobs that wouldnt be caught dead in lower badged cars, especially from Detroit and really couldnt afford the high dollar M-B cars. These are the cars Mercedes has pushed on us for the last 20-25 years. From the late 1990s. You are what you market and sell. Ive said this before about me not wanting Cadillac to move downmarket... Mercedes has made its bed. Its time for Mercedes to sleep in it. That Celestiq...with a 200 000 dollar price tag. It will be handbuilt, right? That is REAL luxury territory. At that price point and manufacturing process, that equates to Cadillac KNOWING what it NEEDS to do NOT to phoque it up. THAT means that the technology behind it WILL be state of the art. The build quality and quality of the luxury materials WILL be worthy of that 200 000 dollar price tag. How do I know this to be true? Because MY guess is as good as any other's. Well... 1. Seeing how the Corvette engineering team was focused on the project at hand and gave us an unbelievable C8 Stingray to start with and other trims to follow. I see Cadillac engineers to do the same with not only the Celestiq but withb the other models too. 2. Seeing the new CT4-V and CT-5-V in person and how the interior is tight and the materials are worthy of REAL Cadillacs, I KNOW GM and Cadillac FINALLY got the message...and things are only going to get better with the EV Cadillacs going forward. 3. Maybe some of us are not really feeling the new Escalade on the outside, but on the inside, its very worthy of a REAL Cadillac. I think it even surpasses the high dollar Mercedes cars. Side note, at the Montreal Auto Show...the new CT4 V and CT5 V cars were there, but NOBODY was interested in them, (which points out that sedans are dead) but there was a line-up at the Escalade. Millennials, middle-aged like myself and boomers... I think the Escalade UNITES us all. To which I will assume the Celestiq will do the same as in... North Americans are starving for a high priced Cadillac. We have seen the effect with some very desirable concepts Cadillac has shown us but havent got the balls to actually give us. Im betting the Celestiq wont dissapoint. Just my gut feeling.
  10. I woke up this morning and had Cinderella on my mind. Probably because I went to bed with hard rock/glam rock/hair metal blasting in my ears. (before the genre went copy cat on us) Then a commercial for this band and song came on. I think its very Led Zeppelin. I think its very very good. From Canada. CANUCK ROCK RULES!!! Another very Led Zeppelin sounding artist. From the 70s this time. On the wake of this crazy coronavirus thing...
  11. Blast from the past (since @USA-1 's post made me and several others laugh) Things I remember from Police Academy...and sequels... Trans Am!!! Which reminds me...about customers. "Now Im a people guy." I use that phrase all the time when a customer pisses me off. I play that phrase in my head and I dont lose all my shyte with them... EDIT: Ive come to realize...playing this back...the beginning of death metal? (His voice and the way his song goes on his 1st album)
  12. The European soccer leagues are banning fans and on the verge to cancel/delay their seasons... Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson just announced they tested positive for this shyte. The phoquing NBA just DELAYED their phoquing season...(after a player has tested positive for covid 19) Italy literally closing up shop 24 hours ago. I mean...no businesses are allowed to be open other than pharmacies and grocery stores and ONLY 10 people shopping at a time. This is getting pretty phoquing serious. In Quebec...only 5 people are infected (so far) and 1 person has died. In Canada, I think with are at 118 with 8 or 9 deaths. Most cases in B.C., Alberta and Ontario. We were at 62 a couple of days ago. That is how it started in Italy. They were at 60 and ballooned to the 1000s within a week or so. Montrealers arent panicking yet.
  13. Some say grunge killed rock-n-roll. I say formulaic hair metal/glam rock did ITSELF in. Although I like these songs imma gonna post....I aint foolin' myself. I KNOW these songs and so called rock bands were the culprits for the end. And there are plenty more...its just these are what I was listening to on youtube just now...for whatever reason. Hey! These are still better than the formulaic pop shyte that's been...popular the last coupla decades. The...Im gonna crash my car unto a bridge and I dont care and the haterz are gonna hate hate hate shake it off are catchy...but really really really really shytty. These formulaic glam rock songs are just...shytty. 4 shyttys versus the 1 shytty on the shytty pop scale of shyt pop songs. The musicians are really musicians playing their own real instruments and the singer is actually singing is my criteria as to why formulaic pop glam rock is better than pop songs of today. My final random thought of the night before calling it quits... Should this post have gone in the random thoughts thread? Good Night!
  14. Im with Balthy on this. No need to do 442 nomenclature. For several reasons too, not JUST what Balthy said. What he said is but 3 reasons. 1. First and foremost. Oldsmobile is no longer a brand. A 442 is NOT a Chevy, nor a Buick. I would NEVER want a Cutlass/442 branded any other way other than Oldsmobile...so... 2. Just not necessary. No marketing gain, especially when many folks dont remember what a 442 is, at best. And at worst...dont know ANYTHING about it. 3. I dont mind your definition of an electric 442. Im not going to be that fussy about it not being a 4 barrel carburetor, 4 speed manual trans and dual exhaust on a big cubed V8 because Oldsmobile themselves did one on the Quad 4 of it being 4 cylinder, 4 valves/cylinder, dual camshafts. About that...although it was a quick car in comparison to what was offered in the late 1980s early 1990s, and compared to what a muscle car 442 was in the 1960s and early 1970s, and that Quad 4 Calais 442 was probably a better 442 than the G-Body 442 was... Both G-Body and Quad 4 442s lacked the menacing presence of the originals. Like Balthy said. Enough is enough. Let the 442 rest in peace. Now...I would take a Cutlass body shell and I would marry it to a Tesla...or better yet...GM EV skateboard platform complete with batteries and motors and create my own 442. THAT is what I would do if I was trying to restore a far too gone Cutlass barnyard find. with no engine and the like. But for GM...let Cadillac and Chevy create new legends.
  15. RIP Henri
  16. I didnt understand the article. I read it but I didnt comprehend what it was saying. Im at work doing the night shift, I will chime in later in the night
  17. Not much different with these kids today than with the entitled kids of rich parents of the 80s and 90s. VW Rabbit convertibles or Bimmers back in the day versus Teslas of today. The more things change...
  18. And one from his solo cowboy flick soundtrack. My personal fave from Mr. Bongiovi
  19. All this talk about Spring And its a welcomed song choice because everywhere I go in Montreal...Bon Jovi is playing. The band is coming back for another concert. Went skating outside, heard Bon Jovi. We went to a rink, they played Bon Jovi. Turn on the radio, Enlgis stations, French stations...Bon Jovi... I mean...I like the band...but shyte, man! Some macho Bon Jovi, please. Not this sappy girley girly lovey lovey shyte he does. Its good. But its too...girley. A couple of songs that the radio does not play...at least not anymore. Wanted Dead or Alive is too Bon Jovi rock cliché So Ill go with something that is long forgotten!!!
  20. Beating a dead horse...( but I could do this ALL night) Romantiq (I had a hard time choosing which song Id post...so Ill post both!) Talking in your sleep would be the first song I heard and liked from them but I like both songs equally) Chiq Some Disco and Cadillac is now complete and well represented!
  21. We could add Horrifiq to the list, non? What about Mis-Teeq as a spelling? Then there is soniq Metalliq (LOVE the song and the melody and the guitars. HATE the lyrics)
  22. Well...I took my time to explain. It seemed you were interested. My bad. You told me after I translated...whatev... It was insultive. If you did not care...dont respond back with such nonchalance arrogance. And you did it twice with two posts. But yeah... I will apologize for I have been rude to you. Sorry. (All in English so I dont insult you further for writing in french.)
  23. Ça, ce n'est pas gentil, mon ami. Parler plusieurs langues est un talent qui doit etre honoré plutot que de laissé de coté comme si ce n'était rien de spécial ... Désolé....mais ça fait pitier.
  24. OK... The first sentence was correct. In brackets, because you wanted to be replied en anglais. I responded in kind: "He wants to be answered with the language of the square heads." What is a square head? Its a derogatory term the French have for the English that dont speak french. Why tete carree? (Square head) It goes deeper than just anglophones not speaking french or not willing to speak french...but yeah...English people are square heads (block heads, stiff upper lips versus la joie de vivre the French have got...) French Frog versus Tete Carree. Its not: "Here, Ill speak French" Its: "Here, we speak French" When an English speaking person (In Quebec) refuses to speak French and speaks only English (before anyone passes judgement on French Canadians, they need to understand why the Quebecois have become so defending of their language and culture in Quebec...one has to know the history between the British colonies in North America and the wars with the French colonists and so forth all the way to the early 1900s up until WW2) So...Ici on parle francais. Here, in Quebec...we speak French!!! Tabarnak! A Church Tabernacle. Same spelling in French, but Quebec slang/lingo and how its pronounced its tabarnak. And its a swear word. Quebec swear words and swearing are really, truly blasphemous and sacrilegious. And the way I said it there, it puts an exclamation point that HERE!!! We PHOQUING speak french...TABARNAK!
  25. Im afraid...its not only the US government that needs to be told "NO" as you put it. The whole bloody planet's governments are doing this. I dont know if and when the Americas are gonna do this (North, South and Central) but many countries in Europe are in motion of banning ICE engines in their city cores and probably everywhere else in their respective countrys eventually soon. Ditto for the Asian continent too. The thing is...the rest of the planet's population are not exactly against this as feverishly as some Americans are... And THAT poses mucho problems not only for the USA (we could discuss this how if the whole world wants to do away with ICE and adopts EVs, how does THAT phoque up the American way of life, because its an interesting discussion) but for American car companies such as GM, Ford. (FCA is gonna be further entrenched with Europe) (We could discuss that because THAT is interesting too as GM and Ford are counting on China's market and China is one of these countries that are pushing EVs harder than anywhere else. Other than Norway.) Ah...but they HAVE banned cigarettes... Im assuming the US is like Canada and smoking cigarettes is limited to a few designated areas around public spaces... No total ban...because money is to be made. That and criminalizing ciggies and ciggie smoking will just end up in disaster...kinda like prohibition did way back when... And...I KNOW that jails are overflowing with soooo many criminals that they dont know what to do with them anymore. Incarcerating smokers for such a petty crime wont make any sense. Will cost too much. So yeah...smoking is tolerated by law... As far as EVs go... One thing that EV lovers should take heed is that all these online updates that they love soooo much may end up screwing them. Tesla records data. Data like speed and distance traveled and that data will be used against the user. It will be monetized to Tesla's, insurance's and especially the government's favour. Taxing the mileage one drives and insurance quotas based on your speed and mileage driven and the like... Be careful what we wish for... So Im aware of all the shyte that is going on. Im for EVs. But certain things that go with EVs as a package...Im very weary about.
