  1. Trump did call our Prime Minister by his actual title. Prime Minister and not governor. He did say it was a good call. (But werent all calls from the US to Canada since all this tariff nonsense began were good calls?) PM Carney also said it was a good call. Trump did lie that other countries have apologized to him... As if all other countries have taken advantage of the US. Like he keeps on crying on about puffing his chest. (Elbows up Canada!!! Right to his unprotected head) Trump playing the victimhood card is a bad look in my opnion. Makes the US look really really weak. Like the US never had a backbone. And with Trump in charge a spineless backbone even worse... Al, that though still doesnt change the fact the Canadians will NOT be buying anything American for a very looooooong time. Damage is done. Elbows up!

  3. I wont be pushing agendas... I will enforce on myself subject matter to ensure you continue to love the forums here. You know, car pictures, airplane pics. Commentary on how I HATE BMWs, Toyotas and SUVs. Ill add Teslas to that list. Ill praise Chinese BYDs and Corvettes. 442s and Trans Ams. But if I hear Trumpster say a lie, I will correct it on the Random Thoughts thread as a rant. Nothing toxic. I will be busy daily doing that of course...
  4. I agree. Not pointing fingers at you. I TRULY understand that half your country is vile, disgusting, racist and very very uneducated and even more gullible. But...if you leave, again, not pointing the finger at you, I understand your wish to leave your country, but if everybody leaves, then nobody worth a damn will be able to defend her (the USA) from the vile pigs that are ruining a very awesone country. And I know the US' history quite well. I understand COMPLETELY understand the innuendo about the US. The US is both a racist, sexist cesspool, but it also is THE BEST place in the world. There is a reason why France gave the Statue of Liberty to the US as a gift. There is also a reason why France just asked for her back. But the US is worth fighting for...
  5. Politics is everywhere. You simply cannot escape it. Politics is not garbage. What is garbage is the lies that keep on being said by a certain political party. There is absolutey NOTHING wrong in a CIVIL discussion about ANY kind of political debate. It only becomes toxic when the person involved is toxic him/herself. Them/They or ANY other pronoun they WISH to choose. See what I did there? Did you know that a certain political party has already censored that kind of topic and wording? Well, you might not want to see it on a Montreal Canadiens hockey game, but it sure DOES exist at a Montreal Canadiens hockey game... 4 nations hockey game at the MONTREAL arena... And yesterdays Blue Jays game... CCAP...you cant escape it. Trump has REALLY divided us. And THAT is why I care... And THAT is why I will NOT let lies win the day... Do you feel it could be you?
  6. I understand It took me a whole month the marinate that idea of keeping politics put of discussion. Not only in here, but in general in real life. But seeing these forums are real life anyway, Ive merged the two worlds together. It took me a month to understand the whole mystique about 'politics'. This is why I came to the conclusion that politics is not taboo. And it shouldnt be. Ever. I also came to the realization that the folk that want to control us and/or divide us, who ever those folk may be, also flood the mass media of all kinds of media entities with trolls and podcasters and influencers and bots, and press secretaries with mis and dis information. I simply cannot just let mis and dis information run loose. Since when do we bow down? Since when do we let lies, threats and innuendo win the day? Its false to say that we, the people, cant do nothing. When we do nothing is the day we lose everything. We have a voice, and we shall use that voice. THAT is the very least thing we can do. And I simply refuse to let the lies be transmitted. I understand. It took me a month not posting to come to a conclusion. I was cyber bullied...again. Its OK for cyberbullying but its not OK to talk about what REALLY is going on with our leaders. The dude that cyberbullied me discussed that not a single thread goes by without 'politics' being discussed. Yet nothing in those threads were really any threat to anybody. Polititcs is not taboo. Discussing or pointing out that governing folk are taking liberties with our liberties is not in any way a threat to discussing automobiles on this site. I took a second read of those threads that this particular person was crying about and trying to make an issue of and there was nothing childish or unfriendly. The ONLY thing that was stated was the truth. IF said truth was NOT a truth to this person crying, then the issue really is with this person. I told him to leave. He told me to phoque off. Thing is, he cyberbullied me last year and I took the whole year off. NO! If he cannot handle a pissed off Canadian who is GREEK from QUEBEC (a nod to the other troll who only seems to want to pick fights) because TRUTH was said in those threads then HE must look himself in the mirror. He does not engage in politics he says. He asked me a question about caring... Well, when we do NOT engage in politics, when we do NOT share information, then you get what is the current political climate in the USA. Ill ask ANY of you: 1. Do ANY of you believe that Canada is a threat to the US? 2. Do ANY of you believe that Canada has screwed the US in any way economically? 3. Do ANY of you believe that Canada is the US' enemy? 4. Do ANY of you believe that the US does not need Canada? 5. Do ANY of you believe that the US subsidizes Canada to the tune of 200 billion dollars per year? 6. Do ANY of you believe that Canada is not a real country? 7. Do ANY of you believe that Canada should become the 51st State? and finally 8. Have you heard Trump say all those things? Questions 1-7: If any of those questions is an answer yes, then THIS is why ANYBODY has to engage in politics. Because there is a whole lot of malarkey being spewed by Trump. If question #8 is a no. Then THIS is why EVERYBODY needs to engage in politics. There is so much bullshyte from Trump just from this single scenario that if Americans do NOT talk about politics, Trump and the powers that enable Trump will be duping Americans for a loooooonnnng time.
  7. I understand @Drew Dowdell 's concern regarding politics in this forum. But, what gets me, is that too many Americans are afraid to engage in 'politics'. Its like some sort of taboo. Rule #1: Do not talk about Fight Club politics Rule #2: DO NOT TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB POLITICS What is politics anyway? politics: derived from an ancient GREEK word politika which means "affairs of the cities". Polis is city in GREEK. Politikos in ancient and in modern Greek means of or relating to citizens which in turn there is another GREEK word politis which is citizen. Politics in English refers to the governance of an area. And "governance" includes all kinds of stuff and ideas. And those stuff and ideas are governed by and to the people of that area. Much like that original Greek word and idea where the English word and idea comes from. Politics is not taboo. Politics has been made taboo by those above us governing us to control us by simply telling us not to engage in politics. To not share ideas. To not talk about politics. I was asked to answer a question about caring. Caring about politics and about caring regarding our political landscape of our lands of where we reside and call home/home country. We also use an example to not talk about politics in these forums as an escape from the real world. Because politcs are real tough. Yeah well...Ive defined politics in another thread in these here forums to which I just copy/pasted again. I also said in that thread in these here forums that we simply cannot escape politics. We cannot. And we have to care about politics. Because caring about politics is caring for your community, for your well being for yourself in your community and for your fellow neighbours. And as a WHOLE to progress and evolve and not devolve. Too many entities in the U.S. right now only want to MUZZLE information regarding politics and are only interested in spreading mis and dis information for not the greater good of the majority of the people but for benefit of a very select few. Simply stated: I simply REFUSE to be muzzled to talk about politics. I will continue to post articles that refute mis and dis information. Since the last time I posted in here, the current President of the United (HA!) States of America has gone tariff wild. On and off and on and off only to put on more tariffs on foreign cars including those from Canada only to retreat that statement from cars coming from Canada that have at least a 50% American content in them and so forth and so forth. The problem lies that automotive treaties have been signed by Canada and the US regarding 60 years ago. This current deall at least. The excuse being that President in charge wants to build the American automotive industry again. *SIGH* Mis and dis information Trump also has imposed tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminium. *SIGH* GM and Ford of AMERICA uses Canadian steel and aluminium because the US simply cannot produce enough. *SIGH* All those factories that NEED to be built, where will Ford and GM get their steel and aluminum from? Canada? Russia? Trump keeps on saying that the US does not need Canada. But Canada needs to be American state #51 There is so much bullshyte from Trump just from this single scenario that if Americans do NOT talk about politics, Trump and the powers that enable Trump will be duping Americans for a loooooonnnng time. This rant ends. But Ill be back for mor political informing as it is MY duty to keep you informed.
  8. Another Maple Leaf victory on US soil in Boston. This one is a blue Maple Leaf. Last week was the national Red one. How fitting. In the city where the cry for US independance started...
  9. Yes exactly. I thought so about Hyundai and KIA being in a better place to withstand US tariffs. I am niot so sure though, if they could compete with an onslaught of cheaply priced Chinese EVs. The US car market is one thing, but the Chinese OEMs will flood the WORLD with their cheaply priced EVs. And eventually, these EVs will make it to US shores, tariffs or not. But by that time, I fear a US civil war. 25% tariffs on aluminium alone is said to cost 100 000 US jobs https://www.reuters.com/markets/commodities/alcoa-warns-trumps-aluminum-tariff-could-cost-100000-us-jobs-2025-02-25/ https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/article-alcoa-warns-100000-us-jobs-at-risk-urging-tariff-exemption-for/#:~:text=American aluminum giant Alcoa Corp, tariffs on shipments from Canada. Dont forget that Canada will have retalitory tariffs. And those will be targetted to Red States. And dont forget that Europe will strike with some sort of economc stresses of its own ON the US if Trump targets MORE European targets. 25% tariffs on some raw materials ALSO target Europe. NOT only Canada... The MAGA voters, as MUCH as they follow the cult leader Trump, some of them WILL turn on him. And those mouth breathers own guns. LOTS of them. What will Trump do? Attempt to take those away from them/ Eithr way, I see lots of doom and gloom...
  10. You forgot to mention the Japanese car makers. Toyota might be able to weather out the tariffs, but Honda is also finished. Mazda. Hyundai/KIA might be the only ones to come out OK. All others are toast.
  11. https://www.cnn.com/2025/02/25/americas/canada-petition-musk-citizenship-intl-latam/index.html https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cwydeppzggno https://www.ctvnews.ca/business/article/more-than-170000-sign-petition-to-revoke-elon-musks-canadian-citizenship/ So far, 250 000 Canadians have signed a petition addressed to Prime Minister Trudeau to revoke Elon Musk's Canadian citizenship. And as a true mature sane adult he responds that Canada isnt a real country... https://www.cnn.com/2025/02/25/americas/canada-petition-musk-citizenship-intl-latam/index.html ooooooooooooh...what a burn!!!! His mommy was born in Canada... he got Canadian citizenship through her. I say he laces them up in an American hockey jersey on some sort of barn rink somewheres in rural make believe Canada and skate up to a few drunken beer league lifers and say that to them in their faces that Canada is not a real country. We, and most importantly, him, would find out how fake Canada is...
  12. Stellantis in North America is done fer, tariffs or not. Ford and GM are almost done when those tariffs hit and are going to be done if those tariffs last a year long. All other OEMS that build their cars in Mexico to sell in the US are going to have a rotten year as well. At least Europeans will stick together and try to screw the US and thiose European OEMS will have a fightin' chance to survive. The real winner will be Chinese car makers and their EVs. They WILL flood the world market when the tariff war ends...
  13. I too, feel like the Charger EV is DOA. I am not even sure if the inline 6 will be any more of a seller either. At this point, since Tavares quit and he was the one opposed to the V8s, yeah, it wouldnt be a bad idea to shoehorn a Hellcat one in now. We laugh at that, because its that absurd, but it is what has made Dodge a comeback the last 15 years. And its the Hellcat engine that has made Stellantis money hand over fist. While an inline 6 twin turboed to make 500 some odd horsepower in the Charger would make it a fantastic muscle coupe and sedan, the mouth breathers that buy these things want their V8 Hemis. Let it be known that I am NOT a mouth breather as I breathe through my mouth heavily, LITERALLY, every time I sees a V8 Challenger... I am talking about the OTHER mouth breathers out there of course...
  14. 1. You could follow your own response... and just ignore... OR 2. No need to whine... No need to announce quitting. Just quit. Buh-Bye!
  15. You coud quit too. Nobody stopping you. People come and go. That is what you told me last year.
  16. You also find it easy to whine... Want some cheese with your whine? Have a nice Quebec poutine on me. PEI potatoes. Cheese curds from Quebec. BEFORE the tariffs hit next week. If you havent noticed, whether you find it easy to talk about politics or not, with Trump as President, you cant avoid it. You actually have to deal with it THIS time around. THIS time around, politics has become a real threat to our livelyhoods whether you find itmeasy to ignore it or not...
  17. Its lovely, right? <rolls eyes> To be honest... Its damn near IMPOSSIBLE NOT to talk about "politics" when the President of the United States of America has forced his ideals in EVERY aspect of North American life. Even in NHL hockey... And this little thing of tariffs that will affect every little aspect of North American life INCLUDING the automobiles we love to talk about on this website... This is in Germany BTW Just for starters Yeah...aint it lovely???!!!
  18. Yup. And wait until all other product related tariffs other than oil of jut 10% hit. Its not just Durnagos with V8s that will get hit. Stellantis in general along with Ford and GM. Other car manufactures too like BMW and VW. But at least those guys have Europe to sell to. GM and Ford are done for. I feel like the catastrophe that WILL come to US automanufacturing is not talked about. And its a mistake to downplay what these Trump proposed tariffs not only on Canada's and Mexico's raw materials are going to do, but Trump is going to tariff European materials too. Problem is, the world is getting ready to isolate the US fromm EVERYTHING. But, this being an automotive forum, an enthusiast one at that: Hey! We can STILL buy a Hellcat Dodge product. Aint that great???!!!
  19. Gasoline prices may also play a factor? In Quebec, gasoline prices have stabilized. I am not sure, but Im thinking that many parts of the US, gasoline prices have soared since 2024. A hefty SUV like a Durango with thirsty V6 and V8 engines are a death knell to such vehicles. And yes, in the US as well.
  20. RIP Roberta Flack
