  1. Why does this bother you so much???!!! Dont answer as your opinion means shyte... 1953 Corvette The Corvette emblem on that hood 1957 Corvette The front emblem remains largely the same.... The side emblem of that 57 Corvette '57 Chevy The emblem on the side of a 57 Chevy fuelie Emblems of Impala SSs 1960 1961 1962 Impala SS 1963 Impala SS 1964 Impala SS 1965 Impala SS 1966 Impala SS 1966 Chevelle SS 1967 Impala And that was the last time I believe the checkered cross flags were placed on a vehicle other than the Corvette... Corvette emblems Tim Allen's Hot Rodded LT5 engine swapped Impala SS. Notice the so called Corvette cross flag? Through out the decades, Corvette enthusiasts with other Chevrolet die hard performance guys along with other brand's sports car crazy folk KNOW the Corvette is a Chevrolet. They all LOVE the fact that the Corvette is a Chevrolet! Through out the decades, Corvette enthusiasts with other Chevrolet die hard performance guys along with other brand's sports car crazy folk KNOW the Corvette is a Chevrolet. The Corvette will ALWAYS be a Chevrolet. Stop with your nonsense.
  2. As happy as I am today, I am just as sad. I didnt think I was gonna shed a tear, but as I am listening to this, I am starting to water up. RIP As much as his music is beautiful, like how beautiful Greece is, his life was full of turmoil, exactly mirroring Greece's reality at this time. One that he was entangled with. And one that may be known to you guys outside of your typical Greek bouzouki sounds and melodies
  3. That is a niiiiice model. Ive got 74 of them. I once had over 100. I got rid of the ones that I had a duplicate of. Like for example I currently have a 1969 Olds 442, a 1971 Olds 442 and a 1970 455 Cutlass SX. I gave away the 1970 Olds 442 pains me but I DO I have the SX. It was between the '70 and the '71. I decided to keep the '71 since the front end is different from a '70) and a 1968 Olds 442. I gave away a General Lee Charger, but I kept a very nice plum crazy '70 Charger. Although I DO prefer a '69 over the '70, the colour of the '71 is sooooo much nicer lookin'. ETC... Gave them away to friends or their kids for them to start their own collections. These are MY 1st gen F-Bodies. Im only gonna add 1 more to my collection. And its gonna be a C8 Corvette. Im waiting to see if I like the Z06. As Chevy hasnt revealed the Z06 yet, obviously a die cast is not available for it yet. But it will be either a Z06 or the Sting Ray C8 to complete my collection.
  4. My lovely wife is the same way. I may not be so frugal. But, I have adopted a more simplistic, minimalist lifestyle the past few years complimenting her frugal ways.
  5. Its already here this problem with a certain type of vehicle you are insinuating. Its not with speed though... And the common perception is to blame Tesla. OK...not a bad idea to blame Tesla as Elon Musk is falsely praing autonomous driving. But the BIGGER problem is that I dont here ANYBODY put the ONUS on the DRIVERS...
  6. I believe the term is frugal. And there is NOTHING wrong with that. I high five you!
  7. BUMP Because its relevant not only to Tesla and and if the competition will be able to shut her down and when SMK says that Mercedes is the world's most selling luxury brand... Like I keep on sayin... How many of those 324 708 vehicles that Mercedes sold in the US are really above 50 000 US dollars. Im willing to bet that most of those 324 708 vehicles that Mercedes sold are BELOW 50 thousand and 100% lease queens to wannabes. The equivalent of the wannabe Cadillac pimpmobile mafioso of the 1970s and 1980s albeit for Mercedes its more like fake personality yuppies...
  8. It is. Folk like YOU will NEVER EVER give it a chance no matter what Cadillac does Ill just repeat this post again to answer you kindly...
  9. 2002. While the Trans Am got more aggressively teenaged styled from 1998-2002, Ill agree. 1994 But...more cartoonish though than say: How about this? Or this? Now...I could see where you are coming from. But...please see where I am coming from I think I have all of them. All 1994 models. Some are turbo 4s. Some are 6es. V8s. All are more or less in the same price zone. Give or take. Sporty coupes. All competing for the same target market. The Trans Am HAD to look different from all of them. Not that anyof them looked alike. NONE of these cars look alike!!! Even the ones that share platforms look VERY VERY different from one another. But the Trans Am HAD to be the MOST aggressive of them all. ESPECIALLY in 1998 when SUVs were coming in hot hot hot. I do not disagree with you. But I do take offense by you saying it the way you are. Its like you are saying it like its a bad thing. Its not. Actually, most of those sporty coupes died BEFORE the Trans Am did... At least the Trans Am saw 2002. Most of these did not make it past 2000.
  10. Its as luxury as anything ever that Mercedes peddles and has peddled here in North America that is and was an econobox in Europe and passes that off here as luxury... And Im not disputing the fact that people here in North America pay luxury money for Mercedes cars... But I AM privy to what Mercedes peddles in Europe and what Mercedes peddles in North America. And yes, Mercedes has gone upscale in Europe too. But Mercedes was more econobox in Europe up until the 1990s... As where in North America, it had a more luxury image. NOT necessarily selling more luxurious cars. Their image was more luxurious. Their luxury was lackluster... Mercedes has done the opposite here in North America the last 20 years as compared to what they were doing in Europe. They have moved DOWN market in North America while they have moved UPMARKET in Europe... But YOU and American folk like you will never admit to that. You and folk like you want to dismiss this. Its a headscratcher to me...when a car like this is sold in America as an "entry level" luxury car and is on par with fit and finish and quality and "luxury" as THIS car. yet we scoff at the Pontiac... And this car...while more powerful versions of this one being sold in North America... In Europe...really no better than this car.... Actually worse... While in North America...the Olds version got no respect by folk like you...let alone the Pontiac and Chevy platform mates... And there is NO rebuttal to be made...
  11. I get you now. When I suggested to you a while back a couple of Canadian Pontiacs when I was just a rookie here, I didnt quite understand your disdain for them. I knew that some Canadian Pontiacs were Chevrolets with Pontiac badging and mild sheetmetal differences from their Chevy brothers. Some actually looked like American Pontiacs. Only a true connoisseur would know the difference. But...I didnt quite catch the reasons why you wrote them off. I didnt know you then. I didnt know how much of an AUTHENTIC enthusiast of THE Pontiac Motor Division (and Buick) you were. I didnt know you truly loved a REAL Pontiac. Now of course, I do know you and I understand (and respect) 100% where you come from! To the point where you got ME sighing at the sight of A Body Pontiac Beaumonts! As MUCH as I love that 1968-1972 GM A Body, I now dont want to see ANY Pontiac Beaumont in my sights. LOL Sadly though, this last generation (and the previous gen) Pontiac is no different from those Canadian Pontiacs... You got to understand that I wasnt raised in an era where Pontiac was its true own division separate from other GM brands and vice versa for the other GM brands. So I might not accept the Beaumont anymore, but I will ALWAYS love a Trans Am, no matter if it aint a real Trans Am as how you would define it.
  12. I happen to like Hispanic sensibilities and pace... You gotta LOVE the Spanish way of celebrating a girl cheating on her boyfriend with two of his buddies AT THE SAME TIME with a song and a specific dance!!! Then there is the very seductive dances themselves... A whole lot of them!!! Im just gonna go with this club song because it reminds me of my clubbing days...but trust me, the dances are hot. And there is nothing overly sexual about them. Just very very sexy! They know foreplay! EVERYBODY SALSA!!! And the pure sexiness of the way they speak and dance and live! And who doesnt like a conga line at a wedding or best yet, somewhere on a Caribbean island paradise???!!!
  13. At a grocery store parking lot Hennessey HPE750. Is it a real HPE750? Maybe. I do know its a real Z06 however and that is what counts for me!
  14. I owned one of these. A 2005 SS. I loved it!
  15. The 2002? Yeah...and all of its 3 Series successors up until a decade ago when the 3 Series grew in size, and price and BMW introduced the 2 Series. The 3 Series in Europe was an econobox. It was equipped as such and sold as one straight after the 2002 up until BMW introduced the 2 Series and the 3 Series grew in size and the coupe became the 4 Series... Im only happy to ALWAYS post this shytebox to REMIND people how BMW and Mercedes are NOT luxury cars in Europe... These cars were sold with 1.5 and 1.6 liter 4 cylinder engines with 75HP and 89 HP... But we CONSTANTLY laugh at our American cars. We criticize the J Body from GM... yet a J Body was no worse. It was FWD rather than RWD and wrong for Cadillac, but the J Body was on par if not better than a Euro spec 3 Series... And if you have thoughts on a 325 Bimmer being all that, well it wasnt... And let us not forget that BMW sold the Isetta to war stricken Europeans way before the 2002. Thing is, after WW2, all European makes were selling econoboxes as EVERY Average Joe Euorpean was devastated financially from the war. German car makers, ALL of them ONLY survived BECAUSE American and British money made it so... Yeah...but... The Ford and GMC versions sell at Cadillac prices...and sell MORE of these than what Mercedes actually sells in that price range... Id re-think your thought process...
  16. Mercedes is luxury... 2014 Toyota
  17. 'cause they cant really engineer anything of substance in that segment on their own... They went with Nissan and that failed. Too bad they missed on the opportunity to bilk Chryco. out of more money and engineering knowledge on how to design, engineer and sell pick-up trucks. They got away with it with Jeep and the Dodge Viper though... What gets me is that Mercedes does have a century of history building military trucks... I guess that doesnt translate well in the civilian market... Mercedes has NOTHING on Ford, GM and Chrysler in my opinion...
  18. And you'd think Mercedes with that kind of engineering prowess they would engineer a decent pick-up truck without reverting to go and sleep with Nissan... They also have a century of engineering trucks and busses. Military and civilian. Boy... talk about blunders, huh??? Best or nothing is how it goes???!!! Engineered like no other??? THAT is Captain America, bud!!! Laughing at the poor little German Weiner schnitzels!!! And as I was googling Mercedes econoshytboxes, I came across this Buick looking thing of 2 decades ago... That aint luxury my dear...
  19. THAT is a mystery waiting to be solved... Its got Caprice mags. I dont know what the face looks like, but it does look like its got a hood ornament. The rear quarters DO say Impala SS and the C Pillar has that Impala SS kink. The Caprice had that triangular peak. But wait on a second... From I think 1995, the Caprice ditched that C Pillar design and gained the Impala kink and the lights in the back... And so in that mystery pick...we could see that the lights have chrome around them and the Impala SS was DEVOID of chrome trim in the backlights. I think that this car was a Caprice and was accidented and was repaired with Impala SS rear fenders .
  20. What you are worried about is NOT whether its sealed or not... What you are worried about is whether proper anti-corrosive measures are adequate on the WHOLE body and undercarriage regardless if the Tesla or VW Bug is sealed or not. Rivian... Do we know if they are properly protected against the rusting that we see in some parts of North America? I know the Tesla Model S is ALUMINIUM. Aluminium has its own corrosion worries, but bubbling rust to create holes in the metal is NOT one of them. The Model 3? All Teslas are sealed. Actually, ALL EVs are sealed... for the battery and fragile electronics that go with the battery tech... Regardless, its the proper anti-rust measures that count more so than if the vehicle in question, any vehicle, is sealed... Japanese imports of the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s all were RUST buckets... Mazdas TODAY corrode JUST by looking at them...
  21. Actually...it was https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Schwimmwagen Class Military vehicle Body style 4-door utility roadster Layout RR layout Platform VW Type 1 Kdf-Wagen Related VW 87 Kommandeurswagen VW 166 Schwimmwagen VW 276 Schlepperfahrzeug VW Type 1 Kdf-Wagen VW 166 Schwimmwagen
  22. Yes they are...
  23. Sorry David... But Tesla HAS got that covered
  24. And by THAT time a C9 Corvette will ALSO hit the streets! STOP PHOQUING TROLLING! STOP RESPONDING LIKE AN ADOLESCANT IDIOT!
  25. With that being said... You dont seem to understand what engineering means... Ill repeat, if Mercedes and Porsche engineering is sooooo great, why is it that it takes Mercedes 3 times the money to accomplish what Chevrolet engineers could achieve, and STILL fall short?
