  1. They never did put Chevrolet badges on the car. Not in 1953. Not in 2021. For the C1 Corvette, "Chevrolet" was on the emblem. But the Corvette emblem ALWAYS had a Chevrolet Bow Tie in it. Always on the red flag. Sometimes partially covered. Sometimes full. In 1953 all the way to 2021. There is a Fleur de Lys on the emblem. I wanna know why. Do you have an answer @balthazar?
  2. Knowing what SUVs have done to Porsche, which has divided the fanbase into Porsche 911 fans and Porsche CUV fans, Id rather Corvette just stay pure Corvette. I no longer feels that Corvette the brand needs to expand to become a brand on its own... Corvette the brand is doing just fine JUST being Corvette! The Corvette brand needs to expand, but I need/want it to expand into more precise machines to better compete with Porsche and its many 911 variants and with Ferrari with their many different models, head to head, one on one. I want a Pista/GT2RS Corvette (Z06 ?) with a Superleggera/GT3 Corvette and a LaCorvette Corvette with a (ZR1?) that is different from a Superfast Corvette even if THAT means in bringing a front engine, RWD car back again...
  3. 7:10 for a 2015 Corvette Z06. Unofficial time... Not too shabby for 2015... Not the fastest but one of THE fastest for lap times at the 'Ring in a car of this class for 2015... Corvette never went back. Not with a Z07 packaged Z06, not even with a C7 ZR1. 2015... Mercedes GT R has a 2:10 time in 2017... The car you like to shove in my face... Mercedes has a hard on for Nürburgring. That is why the Black Series has a 6:43 time... Corvette's new fanbase might have a hard on for 'Ring lap times just like you... Dont be surprised if the C8 Z06 trashes those times...and is actually faster than the Porsche GT2 RS's 6:38. Waaaaay faster. And like you said, that time is with a 'special' GT2 RS that has been emptied of the factory spec excess weight... Because YOU made a big deal out of that...
  4. https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/a28197754/chevrolet-corvette-c7-nurburgring-lap-time-jim-mero-interview/ JM: I was three minutes behind him. Within five seconds, through the Stefan Bellof esses, it went from perfectly dry to almost putting me into the guardrail. Our objective was to beat the [991-generation Porsche 911] Carrera S, which did a 7:37.9. Back then, the fast-lap opportunity was the last lap of the day, and [the track] gave each company who requested it one lap a week. R&T: But those chances were rained out. JM: Yep. But somebody canceled on a Friday, so it was last lap, last day, last everything. No pressure. I got a little overanxious… I mean, I was hauling ass right up until I got through Wehrseifen. I dropped two wheels there and then made the mortal sin of thinking, "Now I have, what, maybe four or five minutes to make up that second I just lost?" I started overdriving the car. At Brünnchen, I put all four off, and I lost another two seconds. R&T: That was a 7:39. Because it didn’t beat the Porsche, GM wouldn’t publish the lap time? JM: I tried to convince them, and they just decided to punt. R&T: You went back to Germany the next fall with a Z06. What happened? JM: The fall is the wrong time to be there. There are times the dew point is so low, it won’t rain for a week and the track will still be half wet. R&T: That’s when you crashed, right? JM: Yeah. It was our first day with the Z06 on the Nürburgring. We had just started dialing in the MagneRide calibration. After that, I overlaid the data of the lap before [the crash] on top of that of the next lap, and I didn’t do anything different. All we could surmise was something got spilled on the track between the two laps. R&T: That was that for 2014. You went back in spring of 2015 with another Z06. JM: We just said, “Let’s put the 100-octane calibration in the car and see where we’re at.” That’s when we ran a 7:10. R&T: Why was that time never publicized? JM: Because we didn’t have this 100-octane calibration available for sale at that time—it still needed to be validated. They didn’t want to go forward with the lap. R&T: But that calibration was eventually offered to the public. Why not show off the lap then? JM: A marketing guy said, “Oh, nobody cares about it.” They said, “They’re going to want to know how the car ran without the 100-octane cal.” I said, “They’ll never know that, because we never ran it.” Unfortunately, at that point, it was like talking to a wall.

  6. RIP Charlie Watts

  8. I will empty the jar by putting chocolate ice cream in it. My son too. In fact, we fight who will eat the Nutella first. Who will empty the jar first. My wife will fight both of us on why we go through soooo much Nutella... She once bought the Kirkland stuff. We whined to her to never buy such crap again. She hinted that she'd buy the Kraft stuff...we threatened bodily harm.... Nutella is a gift from the Roman Gods!
  9. My son slops Nutella on his bread, a ton of it, and before he eats his Nutella soaked bread, he takes a spoonful of it and shoves it in his mouth. I, on the other hand, HATE Nutella...on bread. I just use the spoon directly in my mouth method with such gluttonous vigor. Its scary...
  10. Never mind that! Mangia Mangia! I eat waffles the same way I eat pancakes, flap jacks, crepe suzettes and French toast: A little bit of and inundated with Im not one for fruits on these foods...
  11. Between the Buick wagon and the slightly taller Lincoln...um...wagon, Id rather the Buick wagon. By a Me too!
  12. ^^^ 1. The song could have been released in the '80s and it would not have been out of place. A little less hard and edgy than what Billy was actually releasing in the '80s, but its still vintage Billy Idol. 2. After all these years, he still sounds the same. Not only with his actual vocals, but him being at retiree age, his vocals have not lost a beat what so ever. LOVE the song! @Robert Hall Thanx for posting it! PS: True about Wicked Game. I also hear a little bit of White Wedding in the song.
  13. Burmester and McIntosh got nothing on what these guys are using (just mind your volume because the video uploader has boosted up the bass to enhance the video...really annoying but the video content is funny)
  14. 4WS? For safety or for better/tighter handling? At higher speeds? NAH! All you need is Eurobeats!
  15. I feel like this rendering is going backwards instead of forwards. Had this rendering been original released as is back in 2006 or even in with its first refresh in 2011, Id be on cloud #9. But seeing this today...Im disappoint. Its still a great rendering, but its something that we have seen...in 2006. Its just a 2 door version of the 4 door 2006 model that we actually got with a different front end...including what the mags... In 2011, the Charger got a 'fastback' look to it that better emulates the classic '68-'70 Charger. It has kept that body style until today. Only front and back refreshes have been made since 2011 (on the exterior). The front end is nice on the rendering. But somehow Id prefer a front end like that on the Camaro rather than the front end with have on the Camaro today... Imagine a squared off front end with a closed grill and pop-up lights on THIS Camaro... To emulate a '68 and '69 Camaro Z28 On that Charger rendering, the front fenders and nose are sloped too forwards that makes the grill not flow as good. In my opinion. The back end DOES look like the Dodge Charger concept of the late '90s. And I LOVE it both on the concept AND on the rendering!] It works for me! But its just a rendering, nothing concrete of what the next Charger and Challenger will be. PS: Im still waiting for that 'Cuda they promised us 2-3 years ago. They DID if fact trademark the name again...
  16. And the whole underground city we have which is tied and partnered with our Metro system which is below our Downtown.
  17. (she is sooooooo cute here tho! I am bewildered by the next one.... I have a very good sense on how electricity works. How it conducts and "moves" around and all that... But honestly, I cannot figure this diagram out for the LIFE of me. To boot, I dont know how I feels about this either...am I just dumb about electricity and really has no clue or is it because Im slightly aroused by the content and my brain is just processing T&A? Have I just discovered a new fetish then? Sexy Anime Japanese porn?
  18. I wonder... How many dead bodies are hidden in these chests and baggages?
  19. Well...vaccines are proven science that they actually work against viruses that makes us sick and/or kill us... And these new Covid 19 vaccines were put to the test with knowledge of how past vaccines work against viruses and the scientists involved in developing a vaccine for Covid 19 used that tried and true method to develop what vaccine we have now to help us with Covid 19. So much so that two different makers of these Covid 19 vaccines using mRNA technology came out with two very similar vaccines to fight Covid 19... THAT would make it "proven science" Also... Wearing masks and keeping a 6 foot safety distance in trying to fight Covid 19 transmission maybe a crapshoot type of prevention method, they do however have a basis of scientific method that was CALCULATED and FORMULATED with thousands of hours of tests of how water particles and droplets behave in the air. And THIS testing has been made and formulated at least 2 decades before Covid 19 was a thing. Say what you will about "the science of Covid 19" always changing. The way we have approached Covid 19 prevention HAS been with proven scientific methods. And they work to a degree. When they dont seem to work, its NOT because of the "proven science" is not proven, but rather because Covid 19 is a DIFFERENT type of virus that we HAVENT seen, therefore we have adapted our approach to the best we can to prevent more catastrophe. Which means some prevention behaviors have been modified. Some we have kept. Some of those needlessly, but its nice to uphold just in case...
  20. Id argue though...that Western New York has even MORE in common with Ontario, Canada rather than PA and NE Ohio... PA I saw, is also considered Generic Northeast by the maker of this map. Well...like I said before, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, upper State NY has more in common with Quebec and our Maritime Provinces. Further more, Pennsylvania is more akin to Massholechusetts, than anything Canadian. PA has two strong willed cities, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, unlike any other Northeastern cities including Canada. Boston, to me, would be similar to Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. . NYC is very different from all others. But very similar to Montreal and now Toronto. Boston's architecture is reminiscent of Montreal's. So is NYC's. But Montreal does have a French side that differs from NYC and Toronto but there is something familiar with NYC regarding new immigrants coming to the US that I see with Montreal and Toronto that Boston and the PA cities will NEVER have. Therefore, I dont see how the maker of this map considers PA as generic northeast. Further more, Both States, PA and MA are blue collar states. Both States have frenzied, DRUNKEN sport team fanatics capable of starting fights in their arenas for petty things. American Independence have had their spark and fight start in those two States. But Id like to know more about Ohio, all of Ohio, as I have little knowledge of this area of the US. I know this map is for humour. So was my answer to the map. But, there are elements of my questions that are truly sincere and would like to knwo more. Plus...I do really wish that Michigan, Alaska, the Northeast corner AND NYC was truly part of Canada...
  21. Ive got a a handful of questions and ideas to this kind of map... 1. why? (Because I dont understand some of these redrawn states and Ive got a couple of improvements of my own) 2. Why is NY split and given to Great Connecticut and upper NY is called Generic Northeastern State. 3. Speaking of Conn., why is Connecticut that long anyway? 4. if upper state NY is such a generic Northeastern state, then why was Maine left alone? 5. a) Why was what it seems like the 5 boroughs of NYC not paired up with New Jersey? b) As a Montrealer, I truly believe that most of NY State, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire could all be part of Canada. Maritime Provinces AND Quebec. THAT would ALSO include New York City as I believe Montreal in many ways is just a mini New York. Actually, the way Toronto has grown over the last 30-40 years, Toronto and Montreal TOGETHER IS New York City. So NYC would be better served if it be eliminated form the US and just annexed by Canada... Along with that whole North Eastern corner. Minus Connecticut and Massholechusetts... Plus, Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire all produce maple syrup. THAT is Canada! Quebec to be more exact! 6. With that being said... It seems to me Pennsylvania and New Jersey could be as one since NY is part of Canada now... 7. Where is Florida? 8. a) If there is a thing such as Generic Southern States, then why is that area NOT enlarged to include the following areas: the Carolinas, West Georgia AND Texas? b) I could understand why Texas is left alone, and called a union on this map, but if THAT was the case by the maker of this map, then the map actually could be re-REdrawn and the following could be a whole big union then: Texas, Generic Southern States, the Carolinas, West Georgia. 9. a) If by creating a redrawn and improved USA, and we have already established that Canada should annex all that Northeastern corner and NYC, then Megakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan ALL belong to CAnada now. These are cold cold states that best describe Canada anyway. These states all are passionate and play hockey, and are quite good at it therefore: CANADA!!! b) Alaska is not connected to the continental United State. Alaska is DIRECTLY connected to Canada. Literally. Therefore Alaska is not union. Alaska is part of the True White North...ie CANADA! Alaska NOW belongs to Canada! 10. why Hawaii? Hawaii is closer to French Polynesia than it is to the continental US. THEREFORE, a redrawn and improved US benefits if Hawaii is now part of France 11. US now needs a hot, tropical type of island paradise? THIS is where Cuba and Puerto Rico comes in with the forgotten Florida...
  22. Induction motors do not lose torque. The magnetic field never stops giving magnetic vibes as long as that rotor turns around the stator. There is never a drop in magnetic power as long as rotor rotates inside the stator the way it was intended to... The shaft that allows the rotor to rotate around the stator might give eventually, might get misaligned, get imbalanced that will eventually fail the bearings...but as long as the rotor is rotating, there will be constant electricity flowing producing constant torque never missing a beat. Electric motors are known to continuously work non-stop for thousands upon thousands of hours... Of course there is wear and tear. Anything mechanical has wear and tear and will eventually give out. But an electric motor, as long as the shaft and bearings are aligned and rotate as they should, an electric motor should always produce the same constant power and torque throughout its lifetime.
  23. I edited the above post to re-post Rawlings... I didnt feel comfortable with the so called joke I posted earlier... It wasnt THAT funny and it certainly wasnt proper. It was racist in nature, and I am NOT racist. It didnt have a place in here. So out it went!
