  1. You get alot more usable space in that Impala than the Taurus though. And I'd be willing to bet it is probably better driving overall and gets better mileage too. I'd trade my Taurus for 4 cylinder Impala straight up. Or rather I should say; I'd take a 4 cylinder Impala over any Taurus without twin turbos.
  2. I know a thing or two. I've never owned a car where the stereo stayed 100% factory. I never installed for a living, But have done things on all of my own cars and plenty of buddies too. I thought about becoming certified at one time. But as it was pretty much gauranteed to be a life of poverty and back breaking labor being made every more difficult to get by in by car manufacturers themselves, I just said screw it. Better as a hobby.
  3. Once upon a time I could've gone on for quite a while about car audio with you, but it's been at least 7 years since the last time I installed a stereo system. My dad has had a business for years doing that, among many other sound/electrical jobs, and I used to work for him all the time. Then I moved away, then back again, then away, then back again, but this most recent time back I just work too many hours to be able to do that any more. It's been awhile for me too. The Aura XR I had last I had gutted the factory parts and had a fair system setup. Alpine PDX five channel, some high end Polk speakers, 12" Massive audio sub (not great) and a middle of the road Pioneer HU. In my opinion much better overall than the A8L B&O system I sampled, but probably third best I had owned. I was always for trying to have a balanced system that could replicate more of a live feel. It would cost almost a grand just to get a good HU in the taurus so I've just changed a few speakers and Dynomatted.
  4. Yeah, normally where twins are concerned I prefer the GMC's looks to the Chevy's, but on this one I have to give the nod to the Colorado, but GMC does tend to have better interiors. They are very similar inside of course. I would like to get a crew cab long box in the future. Used preferably. Let depreciation work for me!
  5. Frisky, for the 3.6, is it simply reluctant to down shift? Or is it that the throttle response is very linear? I find many vehicles boost the throttle response in the first half of travel to make the powertrain feel peppy. Overdone, it makes it an effort not to squawk the tires at every light. Otherwise I find many people like it because it provides the illusion of more power. Though when you floor it you don't really have much left except maybe a downshift.
  6. As the owner of a 2010 Taurus, I can't imagine buying another over the Impala. It certainly doesn't have better visibility. In my experience it won't generally make the mileage claims. A couple times? And the interior has nothing at all on that new Impala. Space or quality wise. Though, I have heard about reluctant trans tuning. I assume you and the car get used to each other after awhile. Seems a valid complaint though.
  7. I like the Colorado's exterior but prefer the GMC interior and 4WD auto option.
  8. I did. But I glossed over this area. But peer pressure got the better of me.
  9. A recent convert from MT. I have lots of experience with car audio if anybody needs help or wants to hash something out. I've mostly owned GM (especially Buicks). But I like something from almost every make. Nice forum here. Great features.
  10. We are having quite the migration. Welcome.
  11. I would really consider the rubber coming on those GS Wheels. You may want an entirely different set of wheels an tires to switch to when winter comes. As was already aluded to. The optional tires are summer only.
  12. For me - I like the old exterior better. I do like driving my wife's 2012 more than my Taurus - but I couldn't deal with the lack of space. I'm sure this next generation will soldier on as a great little car too.
  13. No need to say anything...usually...we have similar thoughts and ideas. This here is no different. I am a smallish guy..at 5'6 1/2 " tall, I fit comfortably in just about anything. I usually find the perfect driving position almost immediately in any vehicle. Even huge Ford F-350s. I'm 6'1" 225 Lbs and mostly I'm the same. At least for shorter trips.
  14. OK.. now I have to find out how U guys did this, because even I have never posted a video.. LOL It is simply a GIF. That is a video. I got skillz. What are the chances GM trickles this new 3.6 liter V6 into all the other applications? After all - more power. Sounds great.

  17. Don't worry, I fixed it so there is no more duplicates. Thank you, sir. That GIF isn't how I always imagined you - but now....?
  18. I see my first couple posts went up as a guest as I had not properly vetted my account. Oops.
  19. I was quite comfortable right off the bat when I sat the Colorado. It is interesting how much people vary in regards to their preferences in seat position. I was perfectly happy when there was slide the whole seat forward or back, tilt the back back. The more extra electric do-dads you ask for, the more the price keeps going up.
