I had a recall done yesterday on my Navigator. The recall was to eliminate the risk of something catching fire due to the under-mirror lighting. The fix was to simply unplug the lights and I lose the feature. This seems pretty ridiculous, right? Like, there wasn't an actual fix. I just lost something I paid for. I had a loaner new Escape for the day though. It was..uhhh...okay...

2025 Toyota Camry LE Hybrid Rental Review: 3 Days Behind the Wheel

Aren't many choices? Isn't Ford and VW the only ones to have pulled out of a segment of like 10 cars? I feel like 7 vehicles is a pretty good pool of vehicles to choose from. Camry Accord K5 Legacy Altima Sonata Malibu -
Considering these are just images, does "EV" or "ICE" make any difference? I can't imagine it should.

2026 Cadillac OPTIQ-V: Cadillac's New Pocket Rocket

What's more silly is Mercedes charges for those different wheels and leathers. It isn't like they're making a ton of no-cost options that make the margins tighter on those vehicles. They're making even MORE when people select the $2500 NAPPA leathers and $2900 wheels. Buuuuut, with that said, the GLC63 has 5 leather options and 3 are blacks, one brown and one grey. They basically have 3 leather colors to choose from. I do really like their trim colors/material choices though. I think that's a great idea.- 19 replies

2026 Cadillac OPTIQ-V: Cadillac's New Pocket Rocket

That sounds very smart on GM's part. That way they're only really making like 3 packs and adding them together for various uses. I'm sure other companies are doing things similarly, I just don't know about it. Thank you for the information. It's much appreciated! While I think a lot of auto enthusiasts would agree, I think the masses think the opposite. I know a lot of people who just want all black interiors. Well, I think everybody I know who's bought a vehicle recently has wanted an all black interior, for whatever reason. I'm more of a fan of dark brown leathers. I'm a sucker for that.- 19 replies

Buick Electra Sub-Brand Launches in China with the Electra GS Concept
ccap41 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Buick
Whoa, I didn't realize how many awful ones were out there. I remembered the GMC one, but not the others. OMG, does that GMC one have gear selectors about the "L"? That couldn't be a worse spot for that. -
Buick Electra Sub-Brand Launches in China with the Electra GS Concept

Oh, I completely understand the interior design stuff. Modern automobiles are slowly moving away from things we actually touch and feel to make changes, which is atrocious. They're making MORE things to look at and they're making us look away from the road even MORE to do the "old things". I applaud the companies that went full screens and now backtracking some, because we need buttons and knobs to properly operate certain functions. The push buttons in my MKC took a bit to get used to but muscle memory made it simple soon enough. I don't think the buttons looked particularly "pretty", but they functioned pretty well once you got used to it. This reminds me of a function I preferred in the MKC to the Navigator. Both vehicles I remote start 99% of the time, whether I'm walking up to it or it's super hot/cold and I actually want the climate adjusted prior to getting in. I prefer the remote start so I feel better about just driving right away as opposed to feeling like I need to wait for the RPM to drop as it's more warmed up. The MKC I could just hold the brake and press "D" to start driving once I'm in the vehicle. The Navigator I need to press the brake and tap the ignition button prior to being able to move to Drive. It's very minor, but I prefer the way the MKC worked with this process. Wind resistance -> efficiency. I'm sure some are more efficient designs than others but if you can make it flush to the body, that's certainly the most efficient design. When automakers are trying their best to make their vehicles as slippery in the air as possible, this is a pretty easy thing to shed off the outside. -

I guess I should have asked more pack sizes. I assumed it was the trucks + Escalade EV.- 19 replies

I think it's funny how half of your comment is "let's move forward in design" while the other half is "keep the design in the past". 🤣 -

That's interesting how GMs packs work, two packs each charging at 150/175kW. Cool information. Thanks for the knowledge. Which ones are the small packs and what are their large "double" packs?- 19 replies

I'm assuming "Velocity Max" mode is a 0-Xmph sprint. Are there details on just everyday power numbers when you're not sprinting from a stop? Like, I'm just rolling around and floor it, what's it putting out then? Or, is this just a version of Sport mode and you leave it in that for just everyday driving, if you want max output? You're not getting a full charge in 18 minutes. That's probably a 20-80% number.- 19 replies

Thanks! So I wasn't going crazy when I thought it was their V6's. Somebody in an automotive Facebook group I'm a part of has a hybrid Maverick. It's had a bunch of recalls but he hasn't had any issues with it...yet. It's only like a year old for him though. I do think the Maverick has been pretty reliable even though it's had a ton of recalls. I don't believe anything is consistently leaving anybody stranded. If it makes you feel any better, they contribute to both political parties. I'd assume they, like many other companies, do this to suck up to whomever wins.

I thought the V6 turbo iForce-Max had issues, too? Or maybe when I heard iForce-Max I just assumed it was the V6, but I thought it was a Tundra-thing.

Traffic circles are pretty awesome devices. I don't recall ever driving over a speed hump that wasn't in a parking lot. I'm sure there are some, but maybe not in IL or MO.

Ahhhh yes, I did misunderstand you. I understand what you meant now. Thank you!

He did use it to brighten the subject though. Is that still okay though? I'm actually not much of a Bond-film person. I don't actually think I've seen any of them from beginning to end. It's not that I'm opposed to them, just never really been attracted to them either. I actually should give them a go on my commute when I run out of crap to watch. What woman do you think would fit the role perfectly? I can't think of one off the top of my head but I'm sure there are a few, at least.

I'm a big Idris Elba fan and I think he would fit the mold perfectly.

I mean, that's what's listed on their website. Do you always add destination charges to your pricing? I doubt it, unless it fits your argument. The $28,145 is not employee pricing. Hahaha exactly... so why compare the two???

F150 owners don't as much either. Maverick owners very likely are buying because of efficiency. I'm sure they didn't exactly want a teens city number for fuel economy. Raptors also probably have 28-36 gallon tanks. My MKC with it's little 15.1 gallon tank couldn't get 300 miles out of a tank unless you were driving all highway and also drove it to E. Sub-300 mile tanks is pretty annoying, to be honest. I know these Mavericks have 16.5 gallon tanks, so that is a pretty good improvement, and a 2.3 would still yield over 300 miles now...most likely.

They're listing it as starting at $28,145 on Ford's website right now(2025s). I don't know where you're getting 31k from?

Yeah, that wasn't a very efficient engine though, so I assume they still had a MPG/emissions target in mind.

I really dig what this is. I want to say I'm a little disappointed there wasn't some power bump here, but they know the aftermarket will handle this easily and anybody wanting more power was going to do that regardless. Those wheels.. are FANTASTIC!

With this kind of editing, No. I do not think a disclosure is necessary. Eliminating things around the subject don't necessitate a disclosure, to me.
