  1. So. Many. Punchlines. All. Of. Them. WRONG
  2. VW has always had wild sales swings on this side of the pond. When the Gas Crisis hit in the 70s it was the Golf that saved them. In the late 90s/early 2000s it was killer styling and (ironically, in hindsight) the first TDIs that did it for them. This time, it'll need to be a combination of styling and reliability IMO. And time. Lots and lots of time.
  3. They spell it "Kubang" to avoid sending me royalty checks. Truth
  4. No, I'm not a fan of the whole "white people" schtick. Just like I'm not a big fan of the "black people" schtick, of the "Hispanic people" schtick. I'm not gonna go all PC on someone for doing it. But as a Newfie who married a woman of Polish descent I just got TIRED of that kinda thing, y'know?
  5. Eh. I guess I'm just above it.
  6. Saw a C4 Corvette in Hunter Green today. Forgot how nice it looked.
  7. Stale movie theatre nachos are the WORST.
  8. Nah. I'm just watching the posts, and who's saying what, and getting a feel for things.
  9. "White people are okay with..." Wow. Good to know how far YOU'LL go to stir the pot. Yeesh
  10. I dunno about the centre of the universe... But the centre of the galaxy is thought by astronomers to be an enormous black hole. I have no reason to doubt that.
  11. That sweet, sweet moment when you know the message has been received.
  12. Apparently, the EPA has decided to stop stealing pages from NHTSA's playbook and actually start doing their jobs: http://blog.caranddriver.com/wont-get-fooled-again-epa-says-it-will-change-up-its-emissions-testing/
  13. ...yes, it's the subtleties in posts that make 'em or break 'em. Now, onward: I have a complaint about this car. Namely, it does not appear to be available in Metallic Orange. This needs to be addressed.
  14. They could never build enough e-trons to offset that loss.
  15. Just some hysterical old biddy who won't change their mind and can't change the subject :D . Bit of light entertainment in between bits of serious conversation, really.
  16. No. Doesn't look like I'll be able to access it. Probably just as well. I'm posting elsewhere right now and there's a guy just losing his MIND
  17. What forum is he in?
  18. It is entirely possible that, through joint ventures like Shanghai GM, China's financial stake in GM as a whole is pretty sizeable. But 30% ownership sounds absurdly optimistic.
  19. That sucks. Whatever I may have thought about the driveline I always thought they were sharp looking. Just don't rotate the tires
  20. I've yet to drive a HiPer-equipped car, so I'll take your word for it. But before the advent of that I'd have pegged the upper hp limit of FWD at 320 or so.
  21. Sounds about right to me. Folks in Florida and Cali will love it. A bit more snug than the old G6 droptops but still fine for the purpose.
  22. *checks into forum* *reads threads* *rubs eyes and wonders where all the posts went* *checks warning point number, discovers it still at zero* *golf clap for Forum Admin*
  23. I just laughed out loud, you bastich. It's good to see you back in the saddle. What I bolded there, if GM lives up to it.. and learned anything from the last two years... they should be fine, offering a NICE, safe, and compliant alternative to the people who would of bought a VW specifically because they, for all intent, cornered the market. Chevy marketing would be FOOLS to not get out in front of this and under EVERY advertisement state in BOLD letters, with the Spokesperson/actor repeating as if he's reading off the brochure: "THIS VEHICLE, The CHEVY CRUZE DIESEL, IS CERTIFIED BY THE EPA, and AN INDEPENDENT TRIBUNAL WHO IS NOT IN ANY WAY ON OUR PAYROLL, A PRIEST, A RABBI, the Dalai Lama, AND MORGAN FREEMAN, AS BEING COMPLIANT WITH THE ENTIRE WORLD'S ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION TESTS " Hell.. at this point.. GM should be pushing every division to have a diesel including Buick, Cadillac, and GMC in the Terrain, Canyon and Acadia. The market is now open for a transparent and available diesel maker who makes it clear, without gloating that they are compliant BTW. The "Whisper Diesel" should be plastered across every GM Diesel as if it were an Ecoboost or Hemi label
  24. Drew, Suave, and CCAP combine to hit upon the answer, methinks.
  25. Basically, the article goes beyond the immediate crisis at VW and focuses on how punitive taxes, short-sighted fixes, and lobbying may have led up to it. Interesting stuff.
