Thanks. The other tests are coming back good too...still gave us quite a scare, though...

    Whew!

Wow, it's been a rough week... My mom has gone in for quite a few tests on her heart within the last week or so...including yesterday and today. Good news is that everything is good. I've really been worried the last few days..... She has a few more tests, but the important ones have been good....
  5. Well, let's hope it doesn't get to the point where the middle class have to kill for food..... Though I have a feeling this is going to get nasty....
  6. Strange, but true. Makes one wonder...
  7. It's a good looking Olds, BV.
  8. We should have our own website.... I know a few I could put on there....
  9. I'm kinda thinking the same way Satty is. I want to go back to school myself....so freeing up money is important... Good news for me is that my cars will be paid off soon...(i'm trying to pay off as quick as I can), so I just need a good dependible beater....the wagon runs well, but the vast amount of rust and rot say this thing has maybe 8-12 months before something could happen... Also, picking up a cheaper smaller house won't be a problem in this state-in Michigan you could play "Let's make a deal". Unless, my job ends up out of state.....
  10. It's funnt you mention them both..because I only thought GC..... If I got a regular Cherokee, I think I would stay 97+....the only pre 96 I still see here are quite rusty....
  11. Those years seem quite good....A friend in college had a 91 4.3 2wd 4dr....it had well over 200k beforre someone rear ended it... Problem is that they run into the same problem I have with the Cav wagon.....rust, rust, and more rust... If I could find one with no or little rust I would really consider it...
  12. Yep, I thought you'd say that... :AH-HA_wink:
  13. Yeah yeah..... I'm guessing a Liberty is a bit out of my price range...I haven't seen many cheap ones.... As far as Cherokees go, I do like them-even more if I could find a nice cheap one...... Mid 90s, maybe? What kind of issues would look out for (or their best made years maybe..) I know those had issues too... (though if I remember, they had a good engine too)
  14. I've been thinking (yeah, yeah-I know :AH-HA_wink: ) Anyways, I've been thinking about what I could replace the wagon with. I've seen quite a few 98-01 Blazers around here for sale, with most running between 3-6 grand, and many with 4x4 power... A cheap Suv beater would be nice, so I could take it camping, haul stuff (and dogs) and take bunches of people with me... Good stuff: Cheap, the 4.3 (most I've seen are around 100k) which should last a while...good for winter here... Bad: Lots of little issues... I saw a 01/02 trailbalzer (fancy blazer) with 101k for 4600...didn't sound too bad.... THoughts? I know BV wants to get in on this one... :AH-HA_wink: Basically, does the Blazer make a good beater?
  15. x2
  16. Hair- hair everywhere..... :AH-HA_wink:
  17. The CTS is still a fun car....
  18. Congrats!
  19. Yeah! :AH-HA_wink: It should be fun to have that thing over there...did it cost much to ship? You should take pics when it hits the road....
  20. It kinda depends for me...they do have to put money in it though... If your kid ends up a car nut, getting them something cheaper but enjoyable might not be a bad idea...a co-worker's daughter is getting a v6 Mustang....and she is quite crazy about hot rods...and her and her dad plan to mod this 08 stang' together...she's even picked up an 89 Escort as a winter beater.... If a car is the last thing they worry about, the a slightly used Focus, Cavalier, Neon, Cobalt, S-series (and so on) would be a good choice...
  21. agreed.
  22. Well...you could set it on fire and collect the insurance... Coming from you J-body buddy.... :AH-HA_wink: Most of the issues aren't too bad...I think you could squeeze 2500-2800 out of it with gas prices heading up...someone could use it as a daily beater.... And it won't be too much longer before even the test driver will catch a few issues....so I wouldn't sneak anything by people.. At this point, you'd be better just fixing it up....it's going to cost a bit to get that 2.4 back into shape, but if repaired right- it should be fine.... A quick guess might be around a grand or so...... As far as the rattles, I'd just get used to it....
  23. Yeah, with the ecomony really crappy around here, I won't buy a new car for a while... When the Crapliers( I say that in a loving way :AH-HA_wink: ) are paid off, I think I'm going to save money for a while. And buy a house. And replace my wagon with another beater under say 5 grand.... Maybe in a few years (09 maybe), I'll look for another new car... I aslo have the hankerin' for a classic/muscle car, which I may do first anyways..... When it comes to cars, I try to keep them under 20 grand( I will try, anyways).... I'll probably lease one car (hers) and put a nice down payment for mine.....
  24. After reading all of that..wow. And all I can say is that I'm more worried about Buick... All this talk about low volume cars....as long as they are selling and sales aren't off huge-I'm not that worried... It's the mass production ones that are important...the Soli and Sky are doing fine as image cars at the moment... They are not the solution, the are just here to help...
