  1. Ok, assuming you insist on a new car.... ....there's a chance in a blue moon that there might be an 08 Grand Prix base model here or there. You could also pick up an Impala LS/LT 3.5 with the more basic things on it or a Malibu LS/LT with the 2.4 L4. All are good cars ... but if you can handle something "gently used," then go Pontiac G8 - what a looker - but would a Pontiac G8 be "gently used?" Also, the G8 hasn't proven itself over long-term use with its newer mechanical components and such. Actually, this is a tough question!

  3. I was thinking, ocn, how come you didn't title your thread "wet pussy?" Merry Christmas, Bill.
  4. Palm Springs
  5. * falling off my chair laughing * I've NEVER heard that before...I'll have to rent it. Had I had kids, they would have to say that about me too, because 2 Cutlass Supremes preceded the Regal and the LaCrosse. Thanks for the chuckle and the info.
  6. That includes chocolate, right?
  7. I think I would resonate better with PHX than DEN...Phoenix seems more free-wheeling and West Coast like....kind of a low-priced OC in mentality, or much like the "Inland Empire." I tend to dislike any place with a "cultish" mountain sports / outdoorsy / Western / bohemian vibe, so Denver (and the fact that I can sense Boulder is nearby) has never had much "pull" for me, though it is indeed a nice area, particularly in the newer suburbs. If I ever left the West, it would be for the warm-weather Southeastern states. For some crazy reason, I can do a miserable and humid 90 before I can do a scorching 105.

  10. Hey, Merry Christmas, men and women of C&G. I may go to Midnight Mass, I may go in the morning, and I have no plans because it's not a 4-day weekend for us. So I may just snooze. Any plans? Happy holidays!
  11. Biz, that's why you fit right in here.

  13. This is bizarre, especially with you being in there... I've never heard of a cat that likes water. I had an Australian Shepherd and she didn't like water either. She would never go near the surf when I took her to the beach. Giving her a bath was a major ordeal. I think it was the a-hole next-door neighbor who ambushed her with the garden hose through the ivy between the houses when she was a pup. Oh, well, the bastard died of cancer. Well, enjoy your kitty. As you know, one has adopted me and it visits once every four or so evenings.

  15. Oporto (I will be deferential to you, though I was going to say Napa Valley )
  16. LOL. That would be a LOT of exercise for your car and a big gas bill. About the computer for architecture, it's unbelievable. It's actually made it bearable. You can try all these little "nips and tucks" to the project by pushing a few buttons...and it's real fast. And mind you, you still always do the initial conceptual sketches on paper. That will always stay.
  17. Are you in fact moving to Pennsylvania? Just jumped into the thread, but what brought that about?
  18. Happy birthday. Never change your Av. Merry Christmas, too.
  19. Point 1: just go by yourself, it can be very cathartic. Point 2: it's not all roses, in fact it's very difficult work. I always wished I had gotten a PhD in Italian and Portuguese so I could teach university-level languages. The grass is always greener...
  20. And with that "smiley," I see that this makes you happy! You ain't kidding.
  21. Nothing. I think that, below 1,500 feet or so, none of the northern CA cities are even equipped to deal with snow/ice.
  22. What did I tell you about your value to the firm? Merry Christmas, mustang!
  23. response to thread: Middle Easterner They tend to speak English without pronouns and articles. My favorite: "I leev een Bay Area."
  24. me (sorry, ZL, don't know Bob Rock...I'm "out of it")
  25. The part I don't like is $$$$$$$$$$. That's what's made the marriage rate plummet. The fact that you will have to pony up $, unless you're careful. I do this math: divorce rate = 55% child support = min. of $ 600 per month per child avg. # of children = 1.7 Expected Monetary Value (EMV) of monthly child support payment: $ 561 Could you imagine uselessly writing such a check each month....like what, I have money to burn?
