  5. I'm not trying to be selfish, but I hope I'm not around when that moment comes. I can't believe that we haven't been shocked into some kind of awareness of this problem. Just like mortage/banking more recently and energy before that, the "denial" is so a few can get wealthy from the scheme while others are temporarily being "duped."
  6. The song most likely to be stuck in my head is: I think it was 1993 Crystal Waters "Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless)" It's dance music, so that will make all of you but it's a "freeway" type of song which I first heard while on vaca. in Florida.

What's funny is when people I've worked with or friends wanted to go to a "happy hour" that some of the chain "fern" bars put on. They are borderline pissed at me because I will have a Coke or a Sprite. I go for the FOOD SPECIALS. Since I can't cook to save my life, I love good cheap food. You'd think they'd be happy you went with them, regardless of what you ate and drank. Also, alcohol is expensive. It cuts into my travel budget.

  21. Hey, Borger, I am very sorry. I was touched by your story, as you tend to, at other times, be flip, so I knew this was from your heart. It sounds like you had your power struggles with your dad. This is an area I am VERY familiar with. However, my dad alternated between being a disciplinarian and my friend. At times, I thought the discipline was excessive, so I lashed back with fury he wasn't expecting. You use the astrological analysis, so, if you follow the stereotypes of certain signs, he was a Leo (also short and having the same b-day as Napoleon) and I'm a Sagittarius (the "eff you" sign), you can imagine how two strong-willed people got along. But you've got things he taught you and I am sure he appreciated many qualities in you. For me, the positive things are that my dad liked anything having to do with culture and geography, having lived in Australia, Europe and both coasts of North America. He'd also been to Africa. So he passed that on. When we went to Europe by ship, he'd lift me up onto the railing high enough so I could see Lisbon, Gibraltar or Genoa. He thought everyone was a "trip" and disliked sterile people, starting up conversations with people on ships, trains and planes. My Mom tells me I'm just like him. The good memories, and faith that they are in a better place, enable us to carry on. So, he, you and your family are in my prayers.

  24. Easy to explain. You're not tensed up. Ditto for me.
