  1. chick car. chicks fresh outta college / sorority can't quite afford the X3 yet
  2. look at that short stubby knob, so much girth, it feels great to work through the gears......... cruze shifter is really good. congrats again Blu, that is a sweet ride. (JEALOUSY)
  3. actually the MKX and MKT are very nice machines. as far as the MKT whenever i go visit the sister ship they will usually have an MKt on the floor that is simply drop dead stunning. the price is just wayyyyyy too high for a family hauler (that isn't much different than a Flex or Explorer). So when you look at 50-60k, you're either gonna go German or prob go larger. One day when i was driving around a more posh part of town, i actually saw 3 MKt's on the same day. I tend to think the MKt is simply not marketed much either. Now if you are looking for a slightly used program car at some point maybe the MKt will be sold off that way. Get a great deal on a cool ride. In the meantime it is also the starting point for Ford to introduce and amortize some of its new tech like park assist and ecoboost....so they can eventually show up on the cheaper stuff. one other trend i notice is third row vehicles, i think are cooling a bit in terms of demand. Useful, but they make the vehicle large and thirsty and I think some folks are hitting a ceiling on large and thirsty. The MKs needs an image of its own and a personality. IMO it needs a new interior, it also needs some styling cues that make it stand out. They can still ride that car out for 3 more years if they really make it better. They need to back off on the Taurus a bit in how well that is equipped too. The MKz is the dud IMO. Long term they should reduce the sedan count......at least make a car that is in the 3 series / ATS class with RWD platform and then also an MKs sized sedan with RWD bias. Lincoln needs an image car like a couple or convertible. The MKs can live on and the MKt if it can survive may be nice but i dont know if it will. A smaller crossover will probably be a need. I hedge on whether a third sedan is a need.
  4. 7 bucks more.....! not bad. can't wait!
  5. gray cloth in the cruze to me is a looker....
  6. leasing was a smart way to get a Saab. they are already offering 10k off the just released 9-5....
  7. sat inside a 12 passat today again....black interior SE....it did not come off quite as well........but yes, it has room..... both excited about this car and on the fence at the same time...
  8. i almost had one of those when i was a kid.....but at the last minute we copped out and got an ATC...... bottom line is the orlando is too fugly for the US. I don't think chevy wants any niche models anymore. No doubt it would sell to some folks, but it may look inconsistent in a lineup with the cruze and equinox......
  9. yes it had the red and black cloth.....the one part I myself did not like.......really very much dislike the red dash inserts......
  10. i actually had some time today to stop by the saab dealer and check out the new models. at least sit in them. i gotta admit, i don't think there is enough wow factor inside, the 9-4 is a bit nicer inside than the 9-5, but really the plastics are not nice enough, the seats are not 100% there, the detail execution inside is not really where the audis etc. of the world are. the exterior shapes are good but they still maybe are not extreme enough or have enough of their own personality to stand out........ the 9-5 is nice looking and the interior really just doesn't mate to the msrp. really you could slap an oldsmobile badge on the car and charge LaCrosse pricing and it would be a more believable sell...... i think there is still way too much GM dna in these saabs......and there is not much else to distinguish them. everyone does a good turbo now. everyone does AWD now. saab has no unique selling proposition. i always felt that saab should have moved downmarket to become the anti volkswagen when VW was trying to be upscale. now VW has gone downmarket. Saab is too hosed to go down to lower price points now. I really think it was hard to ask more than even Acura money. It would be nice to see Saab live on but the new product better take off. Sad to say I'm not sure at least in the case of the 9-5 that is has the edge in any way to allow it to make an impression.
  11. blu i went to a chevy store today! saw the topaz blue! they also had a 1LT manual in victory red with the RS package.......i've had 2 victory red gm cars in a row and swore off another but......the RS manual 1LT in victory red was a sexy bitch........ i was convinced the cruze eco was the way to get the cruze now i am not sure.......the RS pack really makes it sexy
  12. generally most folks who do not seem to be enthusiasts like the power but yes many folks who are more focused on performance think it needs more hp. I think exactly as you say about 40hp would be good. But it does have the same power roughly as that beloved Regal. If we're gonna knock 180hp we need to give equal ripping to the Regal with it also. regal no doubt is a better car but you may be paying a fair amount more for it. in my opinion its apples and oranges because the regal is built to the next level of heft and really is not a vanilla mid size competitor. no AWD available either. no other affordable midsize has all wheel drive and is a decent drive at a decent price point. As of sept 9th not in Arizona. and there are maybe only 100 mini dealers in the us.......
  13. like, nice article.
  14. but blu didn't you say the Dakota was larger truck than people need? that an S-10 sized truck was a better size? i think the F-100 will probably cover the Dakota's size. I have my doubts that Chrysler could build a Dakota that would match the fuel economy of the new F-150 v6......
  15. too bad that new VW Up wasn't ready for ya!!!!
  16. I totally would have bet my left nut that that was exactly what you would say....... you can't get a fair shake on the Cruze by driving the automatic only. When you drive the stick + miniturbo it surprises with how much of a real good car it is, just the right amount of sport, and it really sort of gets under your fingernails with the likability of the engine + tranny + shifter mating. Jealous and happy for u at the same time! that stubby little leather is the bomb......falls right to hand, nice leather, short throws... with the LT you are getting, you should be getting stickier tires, maybe a couple less mpg, a little more aggressive gearing, and little more weight....should be interesting to see if you notice any differences in the drive. Do you get the bigger gas tank, then?
  17. I am very interested myself to see what blu thinks of the curse.....oops I mean cruze....
  18. sweet! CONGRATS!
  19. those prices are quite good....wow, another hard choice....
  20. they just announced prices on the Impreza series....wow, and the looks are growing on this guy... not much over 20 can get you a really well equipped impreza.....
  21. your government loves it when people trade vehicles often.....if a vehicle changes hands 3 to 4 times in its lifetime, think of all the sales tax they make off it.....
  22. The Eco cruze is the real deal. It's a nice drive, a solid car, and to top it off, it's not expensive, it's safe (like 18 airbags), and has low operating costs. The Fiesta is indeed spunky, but i bet you'd be surprised with how fun the Cruze with the stick and turbo can actually be...... I am curious how much of a hoot the Sonic is myself.....
  23. cruze diesel i would indeed consider. but the eco gets great mpg too.....the diesel should have all that torque....
  24. by the way, picture 9....look at the way the light hits the rear quarter......it almost defines an outline of light similar to the shaping of the dramatic fins on the earlier Cadillacs of the huge fin era..... all without actually sculpting huge fins...........
