  1. wow, blu! I didn't know all this was happening! And here I thought the Rabbit ride was your excitement for the day! Hope it all works out for you. Now go push those underpowered MazdaFord Zephrys to the beginning real estate agent wannabes!
  2. i see no issues with having the tahoe and suburban and trailblazer coexist as is in size. the tahoe is for those who want a full size frame, but not as long as the suburban. the TB is for those who want something more garageable, yet still full frame tough, while not as large feeling as the tahoe. there is room for all three. GM and Ford's problem are betting the whole corporate existence on them.
  3. Do you think if the dustbusters or something really close looking to them) had been introduced now in the middle of the crossover craze and with wilder designed being more accepted, that they would have done a lot better? especially if they had a current interior.
  4. my 77 Buick Century (Regal coupe) v6 was a great car in snow. Light front end due to the v6. No power, so it never overpowered the traction. Our 77 Electra coupe was the exact opposite. A winter death trap. I think if Buick ever came out with a really nice Riviera again, I could see that as RWD. w/ AWD optional.
  5. Oh hey, there's a comedy out there with Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughan together as a couple. ..... get it? BECAUSE its a FRICKING joke that SHE would date a guy like HIM!!!! comedy! joke! I would like to see Prairie Home Companion. Now, I live here in MSP where the show started, but I have never listened to one epsiode of it. EVER. That said, I could very much enjoy the movie I think.
  6. well, i haven't seen a movie in the theater since wedding crashers, and then before that was 'down with love'. but i do netflix and watch some of the new releases. as far as poseidon, the original was cheesy, and any movie with Kurt Russell is bound to suck huge. HOWEVER, EMMY ROSSUM is in the movie, and if I understand the premise of the film correctly, there is water involved, EVERYWHERE, and she is bound to attract a lot of it, like a wet bounty paper towel. SO, that alone is likely worth the price of admission. I would pay 8 bucks to see Emmy Rossum watching paint dry. I would quit my job and forfeit my reitrement money just so I could watch Emmy Rossum make mochas at Starbucks every day. FOUR STARS. oh wait, Ebert said it sucked. See it at your caution.
  7. that I-94 traffic is a bitch, isn't it? Glad my inlaws are waiting till tomorrow to go back up north. then they won't hit it so bad.
  8. ok, how is it car and drivel rates it 6th in a comparo, but you go on edmunds.com and read owner reviews and the OWNERS give the vehicle a composite 9.2 out of 10.....? The owners LOVE them I almost wish I had one.
  9. the Caliber hits the bullseye, although it would be nice if the SRT was here.
  10. my first pick Monte Carlo SS
  11. remember I am not a huge RWD fan but I thought this would be a fun discussion. What FWD cars now we reap the biggest sales and image benefits had the car been designed with RWD? The rule is the car would have the same powertrains (engine and tranny) as offered now. Styling would remain the same, inside and out. The only change is the drive wheels! You can even do a top 10 list if you like! GO PANTHER!
  12. G6 GTP GP (can't you still get supercharged?) Lucerne w/ 3800 (advertised around here at 24 grand to start) Malibu SS Monte
  13. I've always liked the current Monte and now with the new front and the moldingless sides, it looks even meaner. This might seem like a stretch to say, but in some colors its absolutely stunning. And I in no way like NASCAR. one trip insde the car kills a bit of the enthusiasm......even though the dash is revised.
  14. wife put a toolbox on the trunk lid of my car a couple weeks ago. BOY WAS I PISSED. she always puts stuff on there and doesn't GET not wanting to scratch it up etc. and then today again, her and the inlaws had a camera, a telephone, and some other semi sharp objects on there. DAMMMMIIITTTTTTTTT!
  15. the new altima will make the camry look like dog poo, which it already does.
  16. LOOKING IN THE PAPer. All the Chrysler products have really discounted leases. The Commander is one of the cheapest vehicles you can drive right now. DCX needs to move iron. By the way, I saw an unmarked Charger cop car today! now since even fleet sales are thinning for the LX cars, I suppose now they are gonna hit up cops and taxis.
  17. CRAP, I DIDN'T REALIZE THE 07 Maxima loses its 5 speed auto! IT TOO has the CVT and no stick available.
  18. CVT's are weird at first but the lack of steps really grows on you. So why don't I have a CVT? Well, to keep the story short, the FWD limited on my car did not offer CVT. And at the time, Ford didn't have the CVT calibrated aggressively. I think Nissan calibrates the Murano CVT pretty aggressively. So the Altima's should be good. If you try the Altima though, try the maxima too. For comparison. I felt the Maxima's 5 speed auto had great shifting.
  19. THE NEW EXPLORER INTERIOR IS GARBAGE THE NEW GRILLE IS GARBAGE THE SHAPE IS THE SAME THE GAS MILEAGE IS GARBAGE THE ENGINES ARE MEDIOCRE IT PROBABLY STILL ROLLS OVER GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. paulie, i think the vibe I am getting from your posts is you would prefer the LaCrosse to the Aura in the end but that you are very much intrigued by the 07 Altima.
  21. The late90's and after A8's had big problems with trannies. they are 10 grand to replace and borke often. I at one time was looking at them and that's where i found that out.
  22. BY GOD at least put a new interior in these things then for the last few years.
  23. just as i thought. no business case with dollars assigned. also, do you have proof that the family farm concept is our most efficient and best way to perform agriculture? perhaps in some instances if businesses farmed the land, it could be done better and more efficiently with less taxpayer subisdies and less drowining debt to the individuals involved in the process. something to chew on. all sorts of folks are 'running farms' who have no management education, marketing or economics educations, or post secondary education whatsoever. no one else in America is 'entitled' to be allowed to run a govt subsidized family business, why do farmers get that exemption? everyone else works for the man......if the business case cannot be made for family farm concept maybe it needs to go away. I am for ethanol as another alternative fuel. I am not for going out of our way for extra subsidizing beyond the already large farming subsidies with ethanol used a thin veil or shroud for what it really is. In some ways, the defense of farming has many parallels to defending the UAW. by the way, i was raised in sugar beet country. beet farmers are among the richest folks in America.............talk about a protected goods.......the beet farmers do probably the best of any farmers in America already. You should see the folks try to rent more land and get contracts for more beet production. I sure could do that gig.
