Idea's... for my next car and its a poll... UPDATE 2

I vote last gen CTS and that's my final offer. It's better than any of the cars listed, and it's a GM so all is right with the world. -

That actually looks pretty sweet besides the windshield sticker and the blue tint lenses...I think black tint would be better or a red car. It's less riced than the piece of $h! G6 GXP Street. -

RÜSSELSHEIM, Germany — The Opel Insignia OPC will debut in early May at the 2009 Barcelona Auto Show, with the first deliveries to European customers to begin this fall. Developed by the Opel Performance Center, the Insignia OPC's turbocharged 2.8-liter V6 develops 321 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Delivering power to all four wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox, the engine enables the Insignia OPC to sprint from zero to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds. Ride height has been reduced by 0.4 inch, and the engineers have fitted high-performance front struts and improved the steering. The adaptive suspension is preprogrammed in three modes: standard, Sport and OPC. Also featured are Brembo brake calipers and an electronic rear limited-slip differential. Buyers can choose 19- or 20-inch wheels and tires. An aero body kit draws design inspiration from the earlier Insignia GTC concept, with unique front and rear styling. The cockpit has such sporting touches as Recaro seats, a flat-bottomed steering wheel and unique shift knob. In the U.K., Vauxhall will sell a companion model called the Vauxhall Insignia VXR, with deliveries to begin this summer. The Insignia VXR will be offered in sedan, hatchback and wagon styles. We have a bin for papers and we had a bin for recycling cans.
-
Oh yeah, I see it now. That's funny.
-
Nice photos...so how did someone manage to chip off the bottom of the bowtie on the steering wheel?
-
The economy is really quite that bad. We recycle, and the soda we've bought lately has been from NH, so the cans aren't redeemable. So we just put them in the recycle bin. well trash day comes and the bin has a bunch of non redeemable cans in it. Alter in the day I went to go get the bins and found the cans bin gone. It wasn't windy or anything so I can only assume someone swiped the bin with the cans in it. I mean seriously...you couldn't have just taken the cans out? Now we have to get another bin. Of course, whoever took them well be in for a surprise when they go to redeem them and the machine won't except it.

Which Acura?I can't think of any that is this coherent. The headlight's aren't an Audi knockoff as Audi's headlight shapes are pretty rectangular for the most part. The LED thing is nothing new. It looks very nice...but I wonder how big it is? Looks small, like Cruze small.

Shanghai 2009: Geely GT returns as Tiger
Intrepidation replied to Intrepidation's topic in Auto Shanghai
For comparison: The original was actually pretty cool besides the overdone front end. It was low slung and had nice proportions. This looks like squished and made taller, with very bad results. Also that interior bares more than a passing remembrance of the CTS' with a Commodore's steering wheel stuck in. -
Shanghai 2009: Geely GT returns as Tiger

The Geely GT Concept stole the show at last year's Beijing Auto Show, mostly because it stood out as one of the few Chinese designs that wasn't a Xerox copy of something sold elsewhere in the world. Geely designers walked out on a limb with their pens and created a truly unique shape with interesting details, and regardless what you think of the result, at the very least it drew praise for being an original Chinese design. As we reported earlier, Geely has brought the GT Concept back for this year's Shanghai Auto Show, this time with a complete working interior and butterfly doors (the original was just a shell). This suggests that the car is slowly marching towards production as the Chinese automaker works out engineering issues and again judges the reaction it receives at this year's show. Should the GT reach Chinese showrooms, it will likely be called the Tiger (its current name actually stands for "Geely Tiger"). The question now is whether or not Geely will give its unique coupe some claws. Autoblog

Admittedly, Pink Floyd and Buick traditionally go together like asparagus and ice cream, but that hasn't stopped our inner-monologues from playing "Wish You Were Here" after seeing Buick's new Regal 2.0T. According to our compatriots over at Autoblog Simplified Chinese, the Opel Insignia-based model features the company's 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged engine, tuned to give 162 kW of power (217 horsepower) and 350 Nm of torque (258 pound-feet). That's sufficient gusto to get the General Motors sedan to 62 mph in 7.7 seconds and on to a healthy top whack of 232 kmh (144 mph). Fuel economy? Well, that's a good question. Our counterparts in China cryptically point to a figure of 7.2-liters per 90 km (the standard metric is per 100 km), so we'll have to get back to you on that. The new Regal 2.0T is expected to join Buick's Chinese lineup in the second half of 2009. Autoblog

Chinese automakers have been on the receiving end of barbs for some time now, particularly when it comes to styling. In terms of both originality and proportion, most Sino automakers have struggled to find both balance and identity, but among them, SAIC Roewe has been able to build on its Rover roots and churn out some rather attractive designs. Case in point: The N1. Now showing in Shanghai for the first time, the N1 sedan is quite well resolved from most angles, and its design is widely expected to make it into production unscathed. That the car's styling jibes with Western sensibilities is important, because the company plans to roll a production N1 out not just to domestic audiences next year, but likely to European audiences a short time later. Unlike some previous Roewe offerings, the N1 sits on a new chassis, but it will reportedly still rely on updated versions of the British automaker's K-series four-cylinder powerplants. Inside, the N1 is rather more ambitious, featuring a touch-screen interface with full-on internet connectivity, a "3D" digital gauge cluster, and a navigation system based on open-source coding. The car's high-tech dashboard gubbins are likely to remain a showcar-only detail for the next few years, however. Autoblog

Moved this to the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show section and added some stuff to the initial post wildcat. Anyway, I echo others sentiments...the detailing is great, but it's very thick and the sweepspear should be the other way. Already working on a chop.
