  1. Or he's done it before and can do it blindfolded. I can take my entire dash apart and put it back together in about 20 minutes.
  2. edmunds is actually fairly reliable. It's when rags like the NY Times posts something that you should be skeptical. Guess we'll see what happens on Monday.
  3. Also, doing whatever work you can yourself is a great way t save money.
  4. Also, I don't qualify finding a deal on a quality product as cutting back...I just call it shopping smarter. I go OEM or better besides things like hoses or lifetime guaranteed parts (like the Shadow's waterpump from Autozone). Or I get things like interior trim and such from the junkyard.
  5. Tomorrow's the big day! I pick it up at 10am. I just have to make sure they either already got these, or I get the power steering reservoir and a/c lines myself. Also need to get a 3.2/3.5 radiator since I need the oil cooler and I'm not paying $100+ for a new one. (spending smarter dave.) In less exciting news, I got 2 of the chrome door handles on today. they look very spiffy!
  6. I expect photos of the job Z! If but "cut back" you meaning buying a more powerful engine, oil cooler, planning to have the a/c fixed, installing leather seating, and chrome accents, then yes I'm cheaping the hell out.
  7. Makes me wish I had the money for a G8 GXP for the prices skyrocket. The G8 will be a collector car and a future classic.
  8. The writing has been on the wall since before GM went to the government for aid.
  9. Well for anything besides beef (and fish I guess) products you are supposed to cook them until no pink is left. Either way, it's not an issue for me. Medium well to well is how I like my burgers and everything else must be completely cooked. I like my animals dead and cooked thank you.
  10. The worst that will happen is he says no. better to act then not, and wonder what could have been.
  11. I love Red Robins...wish we had one up here. However we do have Fuddruckers so it's not so bad.
  12. Not entirely. Wasn't GME behind the suspension tuning of the revised Cobalt SS? Also the Insignia looks to be a real winner. The problem Isn't Opel per say, but people throughout the company in high positions that try yo make whatever brand they're in charge or more important. Instead of trying to kill other brands, they should be working together and using each division's strengths to benefit the company as a whole.
  13. Well if the basic ingredients aren't good to begin with (lettuce), There's not much hope breakfast would have been any better. It's all good. I didn't have eggs but instead made myself a grill chicken Caesar wrap for lunch. Grill chicken, sliced (was refrigerated) Heated in a pan with a small amount Italian Dressing Triple Hearts lettuce Sargento Artisan Parmesan Marzetti Light Caesar Vinaigrette (quite possibly the best Caesar dressing I've ever had) Wrapped in a Tomato and Basil Tortilla. Delicious! I just realized I forgot the croutons, oh well.
  14. First I've heard of it. IF it's just an isolated issue, PM me and I'll see what I can do.
  15. That's very nice! Yes someone, needs to get his ass in gear.
  16. I was invited for dinner, so I couldn't choose the meal. I forget which one..somewhere in MA. I'd have to look it up.
  17. I hate Cracker Barrel. My first time their soured my opinion of them. The food was terrible. The burger was burnt to a crisp, the salad was brown, and the fries were soggy.
  18. I think of it more as turnabout is fair play.
  19. GM May Give Opel Away General Motors wants out of Opel, and according to new reports, it is willing to let the German automaker go without receiving any money for it. The only requirement is that the buyer must inject €500 million (around $652M USD) into Opel for operations. Follow the jump for details. http://www.cheersandgears.com/index.php?showtopic=31025
  20. General Motors wants out of Opel, and according to new reports, it is willing to let the German automaker go without receiving any money for it. The only requirement is that the buyer must inject €500 million (around $652M USD) into Opel for operations. While GM CEO Fritz Henderson has said there are six serious investors in discussions for Opel, and that a deal should be done by early May, the fact that GM has said "if you pay the bills you can have it" indicates that GM is ready to work with anyone who's willing to sign. Making a deal would not only free GM of Opel's current burdens, but the obligations it would have if Opel shuts down under its watch. Another outlet is reporting that Opel sold a range of technologies to GM in 2005 for which it's still owed hundreds of millions of dollars. If GM returned the patents (currently held by the U.S. government), then GM could lower its debt load and Opel would get an asset with which it could secure alternate financing. Autoblog
