  1. Just to add fuel to the fire, apparently CR ripped the Aveo a new one, and called the Cobalt, with similar fuel economy, better interior and exterior as well as packaging, and a price gap that more or less vanishes after incentives, a better car.
  2. Funny story about that. My mom was actually afraid to drive the car. She said it was too big and such...which is baffling because she drove the bigger fan no problem. She said the longer nose made her nervous. Well with the rental gone, and with my girlfriend not wanting to play taxi 24/7 my mom finally was willing to drive the Intrepid. Jessica took her out for a spin yesterday, and apparently mom complimented how well it drives/rides/handles. I'm like...well duh. The pig's empty. I have about $350 now thanks to car insurance and some things that had to be paid...so no money for sexy car.
  3. Like a couple others here you completely missed the point.
  4. hah, cool. You learn something new everyday.
  5. The new interface is sweet. However, there's still no "create a new tab button" like in IE 7....that is the one and only thing I like about IE 7...but I still never use it.
  6. My brother doesn't want it. Do you guys actually read posts all the way through? His money not mine. If I had a grand to spare (or a grand period) I'd go take a look for myself. Oh well, someday.
  7. Not really. The K-cars are being recognized because they are what saved Chrysler, and the platform was flexible enough to underpin man different models. It was also reliable, something rare of that period. Naturally they'll never be as cool or lusted after like `59 Imperial or a `71 Hemi `Cuda, but some people want to preserve some of them for different reasons than that. Hyundais from the 80's-90's, will never be remembered as anything more than cheap, ugly, unreliable, disposable crap.

  9. Well after nearly a week of driving it around problem free, it's fairly safe at this point to say it was the crankshaft sensor. I'm happy, I can drive my car again worry free.
  10. Bitch bitch bitch. I drive a manual everyday to and from work through rush hour traffic, and there is always stop and go sections at least twice a day. I manage just fine. You guys are wusses.
  11. I've seen 5 in the last 2 weeks.
  12. Correction: Diesel Maxima coming with automatic and maybe a stick
  13. The top is a tough place to be. Just ask Toyota, which is now facing charges of worker right abuses, including the use of sweat shops and human trafficking. As we've reported before, Japan even has a word for being overworked to death: karoshi. Toyota plants are not immune to this stress-related disease, as workers at its plants have indeed suffered death due to working too hard. These facts have caught the attention of The National Labor Committee, which has an entire report worked up that alleges Toyota over-works and under-pays its Japanese employees and has ties to various unsavory Dictators. It's also been well established that Toyota does not want its American workforce unionized. The report is being directly targeted at Prius-driving celebrities who see Toyota as the shining green beacon in a world of pollution-spewing car companies. Whether or not this report has all its facts straight, if famous Toyota supporters in Hollywood react to these allegations, Toyota could indeed have a public relations disaster on its hands. 14. Somone on Autoblog asked the very same, the response was too funny not to post
  15. I know that is, cars are part of the family to me, so i feel your pain. Hopefully she'll be as good as new soon though!
  16. Sorry to hear about it Fly, but we're glad to hear from you and hopefully you're back, it's not the same without you.
  17. I agree with everything said here.
  18. Unloved as they are, let's give Chrysler's K Car its due. Thirty years ago, the K represented a sea change in the Pentastar lineup. Not only did the K and its derivatives return Chrysler to the black, the architecture proved versatile enough to underpin basically the entire lineup, from minivans to LeBarons to turbocharged Daytonas. Southern California now has an official K Car club – fitting, as that's likely the only place you could find an early '80s Chrysler without lots of rust. Club membership is open to the entire swath of cars that share this similar architecture, known as the "EEK" models, so you won't get kicked out for showing up in a Caravelle instead of an Aries. Now's the time to hunt one of these cars down if you're looking for a cheap, enjoyable way to get into the hobby. They're available for a song, don't yet command any respect (perhaps they never will), yet the K Car is edging its way toward official classic status regardless of what some traditionalists might argue. The K Cars are nearly classic, they're historic and significant and worth saving. The hobby must live on after all the boomers are buried in their Tri-Fives, and a Reliant would be a great way to show an interested kid the basics. Autoblog
  19. Pretty much. I like it. However, what they need is cars, especially these times of high fuel prices.
  20. That sucks, at least you're ok. Hope you get it fixed soon.
  21. Soda is my drug.
  22. 2 jobs > 1 if you can handle the load. I work my primary full-time job, I kept my crappy pizza job for 6 hours on sundays, just for extra cash (it's enough to pay for a week's worth of gas and lunches) and I do s ide job working on a website for my former internship. You should get a GED but also strongly consider looking into college of some sort. a GED or high school diploma is pretty much worthless. It's when you have an actual degree that you can find decent jobs, and much more quickly. I never took online classes, so I can't say how they are. I don't work out nearly enough, so I got nothin'
  23. 3-4k for the Prizm. 3k for the Intrepid.
  24. I need a Doubleshot and an AMP or something similar to at least keep me awake, but I never get wired. Sobe Essentials are good stuff.
  25. I'm liking the overall shape so far, although for an FR layout ith has kind of a long font overhnag. Also, the stacked exhausts are cool, but I hope unlike the poser IS-F they're real.
