::WARNING!! NOT 56K FRIENDLY (SORRY BV):: This afternoon I took out the Buick once more to get some daytime photos...dust really...it was horribly hot and humid today...so it was the best time to not bake. As I mentioned before, the car's really temperamental on cold starts. I had it pulled into the driveway, so I started it and backed out...then it stalled on me while I was crooked and facing up on the hill...probably a funny sight for the couple cars that went by. Basically it took about 10 minutes of sitting there with my foot gently on the gas to warm her up. Once she was warmed up she was fine...probably needs a carburetor rebuild or at least a good tune. I also put some gas in her..since she was rather low...you owe me 6 bucks Fly So here we go, a buttload more photos. i tried to get the imperfections so you've got a clear idea what needs work. She's very solid, but definitely needs some TLC.- Wranger keeps afloat struggling Jeep division
So trade it for a Wrangler Unlimited :AH-HA_wink:- A quick question: Do all of the badges on cars piss you off?
The Shadow reads: Dodge Shadow on the hatch, and says Shadow on either side...it's part of the "pinstripe" decal...and it has a Pentastar on the hood The Prizm reads: Geo Pr on the back ("izm" apparently fell off some time ago),a nd it has the Geo logo, complete with Bowtie on the grill. The Intrepid reads: I N T R E P I D Across the back of the trunk lid, DODGE on each front door, and a Ram emblem on the hood (or at least where one should be). Some models say SE or ES on the black part of the rear door...mine doesn't. R/T models say DODGE R/T on the doors. The Caravan reads Dodge Caravan LE Although "Dodge" fell off the back and is resting on the bumper. It also has a standing Pentastar Fly's LeSabre has B U I C K across the top of the grill, a standing hood ornament, and "LeSabre Custom" badges on either side of teh rear quarter panels, as well as saying BUICK on the right side of the trunk...and something else on the left...maybe LeSabre too...I forget.- Vans, vans, rusty Vans....
I live in the snow belt, we use salt in the winter and it eats away at cars...the Shadow has tons of rust along the lower body, and a rust hole in the driver's side foot well. First gen Caravans, and to a lesser extent, 2nd gen Caravans are notorious for rusting on teh rear hatch where the lower window seals are...I don't know why. Oddly, our `86 never rusted there. It did however, rust on the sliding door, driver's door, passenger door, and where the rocker panel meets the rear wheel well on the driver's side...currently it's the only rust spot now. Water apparently collects there and doesn't drain out properly...which is why it rusted there. I notice only small rust spots on the 3rd generations vans for the most part...probably paint imperfections. Most (that haven't been in accidents) hold up pretty well. A friend of our family has an `03...it has rust on it where it was damaged and they never bothered to repair it...not the van's fault. However there is a paint blister on the left corner of the hood...I suspect it will start to rust. My car has a rust spot in a strange place...on the driver;s door frame at the top (not the roof itself). I plan to fit it this summer...it's only surface rust...I have no idea why it's there of all places, but it'll be fixed before it can spread. I've seen some badly rusted Chevy Ventures...worse rust than older Caravans..one was white, and had a rust hole bigger than my hand along the lower rocker panel on the driver's side.- Transformers: The Game
Another set licensed games that were actually good were the Spiderman games, also I think EA did a decent job with LOTR...but I never played them.- 2011 C7 'Vette could go mid-engine?
So they want to build 2 Corvettes at the same time, on completely different platforms? Hardly sounds cost effective, but cool nonetheless.- Official Pic of 135i Coupe
Suddenly the 1 series is no longer hideous...it looks much better as a coupe than a hatch.- A quick question: Do all of the badges on cars piss you off?
I like the badge placement on our cars...although I wish the chrome wasn't coming off- Trailblazer and Envoy not quite dead yet
The Durango, at the very least, will not be, the Pacifica is being replaced, and the Aspen will be around for a least a little while. If they are going to keep these and not redesign them for a while, at the very least they should take the suspension tuning from the 9-7x and implement it into the TrailBlazer/Envoy...so they at least handle decent. Then give them a fairly substantial reskin and redo the interior (and ditch that hideous steering wheel). Upgrade the transmissions too.- Transformers: The Game
Too bad, because the last Transformers game was actually good.- Here ya go Fly!
I know, last night while we were doing this I was noticing that, while the Intrepid is no small car, this thing is massive, even compared to it! Fly has no worries from Toyota...his biggest fear would be a new Tundra hitting it, but the Camshaft or timing belt (depending on the engine) would probably fail before it was able to make contact.- Wranger keeps afloat struggling Jeep division
It should also speak loud and clear on how to properly redesign a vehicle. Jeep needs to at least ditch the Compass, if not both vehicles because they have 3 vehicles (the Liberty) competing for the same customers since they are all close in size. The new Liberty's cheap interior, and same powertrain despite it's weight can is not going to hllep it. If they fixed those problems it would do fine. The GC is indeed, old, and one can only hope the MCE is enough to help it...most people like it less than the previous gen. The Commander, while being a pure Jeep, is just too big, heavy, and not right for these times if downsizing. On another note, I love the way the 4-door Wrangler looks.- I'm so smrt!
- All Knowledgable People.. I Ask You...
Hey, the K-Cars we had were very reiable. Never had any major repairs that had to be done to them...of course they're about as complex as a lawnmower but ya know- why does GM allow toyota to say they have most powerful truck?
GM should use this commercial: http://www.brightcove.com/title.jsp?title=...annel=493148895- Fly, you remember how I said I wanted that `76 LeSabre?
Sure- Here ya go Fly!
I'll have to look for that switch... No problem!- Choppin' Competition #41 - (Chevy El Camino) Results
Yeah...yours is based off the enemy! NO SOUP FOR YOU!!! Thanks for the votes, there we some awesome entires in there! Now I look forward to someday getting the prize...along with the other 2 prizes. What's the Fly? I can keep the Buick as my prize? Ok!- How often do you clean your vehicle(s)?
Summer: once a week to 2 weeks depending on how dirty they get. Winter: every time I fill up at Shell (free car wash)- Here ya go Fly!
You know, I didn't notice, but it may...what is a speed minder anyway? It's got a lot of lights on it...like one for the alternator. Everything vital woks, she's low on gas (I'll put a few gallons in), speedo works fine, lights all seem to work, blows air (and dust), the wipers work (they are hidden, which is cool) didn't try the radio, but I can do that next time I take photos. One thing that mystifies me is the highbeams...are they automatic or what? They turn on and off at whim, and I see no switch for them. I saw one was burned out too- Here ya go Fly!

So finally, my girlfriend and I had a chance to take the LeSabre out for a spin and snap some shots for Fly. I drove it there, she drove it back. Gotta say fly, it's one sweet, floaty ride. :AH-HA_wink: It takes a couple tries to first get it started from a cold start, and it did stall once, but once it warmed up it ran fine...although I think it runs a bit rich. The transmission shifts very smooth and she ride and steers well...although I only went up to about 40. We went to the baseball field parking lot, followed by the next door car wash parking lot, followed by a quick rinse (and major wash for the Intrepid, to get the 4,300 miles of dirt and splattered bugs off of it). With the cars all wet and even more shiny, we took them to the store parking lot and took some face-to-face photos. Modern meets old school, Mopar meets the General. It's an awesome car, in that floaty, giant sorta way, I love it and I want my own I also got a quick video of the car running and a walk-around to give you all (especially Fly) an idea on what she sounds like. I've got a bunch of photos, and there will be even more tomorrow when I take some daytime ones. Enjoy Fly! (note the KS plate ) - `76 LeSabre Daytime photos
