I know. Even though this may be a GM fansite, we should not wish bad thing on Chrysler. It's been an American company for a long time. If it dies, so does a part of our culture. Of course some people here don't give a $h! and are too blind by their own GM bias to care what happens to it. Oh and I'm pretty sick of the whole "TEH LX C4RZ 4R3 T3H SUX0RZ!1! Z3T4 1Z T3H B3ST3ST!!1" sentiment. If it weren't for the LX cars we may not have Zeta. Chrysler was the only one with the guts to stop making FWD large cars and take a risk. If Zeta is superior it's because it's a new f@#king platform so no $h!, I'd expect it to be better. On a final note, the 3.5L is far from a bad engine, especially since it's the mid-level (used to be Charger's base) engine. 250 horesepower is nothing to sneeze at.

This was very apparent when Chrysler rolled out the ME-412 prototype, and it as canned because the guys in Germany were pissed that Chrysler could do what they did with teh SLR for a fraction of the cost. They were too busy bickering mongst themselves and way too full of themselves to capitalize on the potential Chrysler Group has. They could havs pushhed Chrysler upmarket and had 2 luxury branches that bing in more money and would appeal to different people, but were to stuck up about Mercedes being superior. It's not strong name yet they are the voume seller for DCX...right.

They want to try n American car, it's their dad that doesn't. But it's her money. I'm just giving them a hand picking out a good one. I thought about the Alera and Aurora, I think they would suite her better than a Buick, and the Implala's interior is just not pretty. i'll have to ask him what they thought of the Grand Am's interior, that'll give me an idea on their standards. I might suggest a late previous gen Grand Prix. I here the Focus has some shoddy reliablity so I'll pass. Most Intrepids seem to have good reliablity save for 2.7L issues, which seem to come from changing the oil less often than 3k miles. Simple solution is go sythetic (what I'm doing). So the list includes: Intrepid Concorde/LHS 300M Possibly Cobalt Alero Grand Prix Possibly Grand Am Aurora 2ng Gen neon (friend's mother has had her's since 2000 with not one problem). How decent are the Stratus generations?

What an idiot. Any driver with an ounce of skill and a little brain power can handle a car on slippery roads, especially if it's not going fast. I'd be pissed if the car refused to move because it was a little slippery. I drive the Prizm and the Shadow throw snow, if they get stuck I turn the wheels as I go or put it in reverse, get traction, and go again. It''s not that hard and it's a lot better than not being able to do anything because your car won't let you. Oh and dumbass, there's a difference between traction control and forcing your car to not move.

This is very important indeed. My friend (who has a Toyota Corolla I've mentioned before), his sister got a job I guess and she needs a car now. His family has always bought Japanese cars (they're Asian). Well I've talked with him before about some of the hot new American cars (he wants a Saturn Sky someday), and he was very impressed with my Intrepid, so both him and his sister want to give American cars a chance. The problem is that their dad is very bias and refuses to allow anything besides Japanese cars into the family. I find it screwy because it's her money that she's using to buy a car, but whatever. So here's the challenge: I need to come up with a list of good, used American cars, mainly 1999 and up. I'm not sure what their exact budget is, but the `00 Grand AM they looked at for 6k seemed like a "good deal" to him. I want to make sure that their first American cars is a good one that will leave a lasting, postive impression. The next part of the challenge is to convince their dad that American cars are just as good, if not better than Japanese cars, especially newer ones. So my the first part of my plan is to take his sister, and if possible her dad, for a ride in the Intrepid. I also suggested that I accompany them when they go car shopping, since he knows I know a good deal about cars. Finally, I need some help listing off some good cars for around 6k (or less). I have to research reliability and prices, but my first thoughts were Cobalt, 2nd Gen Neon, Aurora, Intrepid, maybe Taurus. How do those sound so far, and any other suggestions? This is a big opportunity guys!

Not long ago it was Chrysler being profitable and saving the company's ass while Mercedes was up $h! creek because of their horrible quality problems. Chrysler has a few bad months and now their up for auction. I really hate the bastards in Germany who'd rather take the easy way out than commit. The merger was a bad idea to begin with. Honestly, if someone had to buy it I guess it should be GM since at least that would make Chrysler American again. But that would just make the company another brand for GM, not a real company anymore. Plus GM has enough brands to worry about, the last thing they need is more. I wish they'd just split Chrysler Group away from Mercedes and allow it to be it's own company again.

ZOMG! You just admitted a FWD with a transversely mounted motor was cool! Are you feeling ok? But yeah Neon SRT-4's are badass. Whereas most 4-bangeres sound like lawn mowers when people mod them, this thing sounds deep, I swear it almost sounds like a V8 at idle. I would so own one.

Here we go again. So they replaced both the master and slave clutch cylinders. It worked good...for about a week. Saturday night while I was delivering I started having problems. I would have the clutch all the way in and the car sounded like it was going to stall when it was at as stop and in first (like if you were taking the clutch off without giving it gas). It wouldn't come out of gear either...and when I tried to go it would lurch forward and stall. It did this to be like 10 times, and when I got stuck being stalled horizontally in the middle of a main road I had enough. It's like it's gonna kill me one of these times! So I go home and get the Shadow...which made a much better companion for the remainder or the delivery, and Sunday. So this morning we took it to the shop to have it looked at. an hour ago I called them and they said the part they put in, which is aftermarket, doesn't seem to be doing the job, so they have to order in a factory cylinder. They had me take it home since it may not be in for a couple of days. I got it home but there's like no feeling to the clutch. On the bright side I don't think I'll be charged for this...but still it's annoying as hell

NASCAR just sucks. The management, the cars, the going in circles for 4 hours...

They should split and Chrysler should be it's own company. Mercedes gave them nothing that they couldn't build themselves or that mattered. An RWD platform was under development to replace the LH cars before the takeover, and the LX is only loosely based on the E-Class. The Crossfire doesn't sell anyway...the worst they could loose is the Sprinter. The engines and transmissions they use are for the most part developed in-house or developed with another company. The 5-speed in the LX cars is the only one that is Mercedes sourced. The companies should be split, and the Chrysler just needs to get concessions like what GM and Ford did, streamline it's management, focus on interiors, and redo some exteriors and they'd be in better shape I think. Screw the Germans.

The snowday actually worked out very well for me. It pushed the due date for my 3D from today until Thursday (today is Monday's schedule), and pushed the due date for my photography class from last Wednesday (the snow day) until today...even though I was done with that project. It did shorted the time we have for the next photography project but that's ok. So itr worked out ok for me, sorry about yours though. Calc must suck.

Thanks for posting those images toyoguy..now I can see them. The glove box agreement is kinda silly. The Caliber has it, with a drink cooler...the Yaris has like 3 of them. Hell, the 2nd gen Caravan had 2 gloveboxes. Still, it makes some good points, my favorite is: "THEY'VE BEEN WATCHING OUR TRUCKS!"

It's sexy, but there's a problem for which some of you will not like at all (at least from the way it looks in these pics) : The roof drops sharply into the decklid...it's not as graceful as it should be...and you know what that reminds me of? Yup...Dodge Avenger.

Chevy...I like the Camaro and this color scheme. It resembles C&G before the big update and I like teh blue better than the red...easier on the eyes. Saturn's is good too.

Yeah, the Shell station has an underbelly wash that you can get depending on how much you pay. I've been washing my car pretty ritualistically on every fill up to keep it clean. Today though the tough-free dryer was screwed up and didn't turn on until the car was halfway past the blowers...had to dry it myself. The Prizm, if it ever gets out of teh shop (it's back again) needs one and so does the Shadow...really, really bad.

I enjoy tearing up the snow ing the Shadow and the Prizm, and these FWD cars do very well thank you I wouldn't do that with the Intrepid, but it goes up the snowy driveway good too
