Beginning Friday, April 7 (continuing April 14, 21 and 28), I'm hosting a radio show 8p-11p central time, with 8-8:05, 9-9:05 and 10-10:05 being newscasts. I signed a contract (I'm paying for the airtime) with the local radio station (WRMN 1410 AM) to host "CD Showcase", something I've been wanting to do ever since I graduated college. If it "takes off", I may be able to get advertisers to offset some of the costs ... and continue doing the show throughout the year. We'll see . If you're not in the NE IL area, you can listen online: www.wrmn1410.com click on "warp radio" Here are a few of the promos/segues I recorded for the show.... ("The Song Remembers When" by Trisha Yearwood in the background) ... Tired of hearing the same new songs with a few "oldies" thrown in whenever a station feels like it? Listen to CD Showcase, with your host Cort Stevens, 8-11 every Friday night in April. You'll hear a wide variety of hits -- country & otherwise, old & not-so-old -- because a song remembers when, on CD Showcase. ("Dive" by Stephen Curtis Chapman in the background) ... Diving into more of your favorite hits -- country & otherwise -- because a song remembers when on CD Showcase, with your host, Cort Stevens. ("Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes" by George Jones in the background) ... Cort Stevens may not be able to fill the shoes of those big name commercial radio stations, but he offers a wide variety of forgotten favorites for your listening pleasure right here on CD Showcase. ("Bring Me To Life" by Evanescence in the background) ... Bringing to life more of your forgotten favorites -- CD Showcase with your host Cort Stevens. ("Why Haven't I Heard From You?" By Reba McEntire in the background) ... Are you enjoying CD Showcase? Perhaps you have a question, comment, suggestion, or are interested in sponsoring the show.... Cort Stevens wants to hear from you. Send him an Email to [email protected]. Meanwhile, enjoy more of your favorites right now on CD Showcase, only on the home of the Radio Shopping Show, WRMN 1410 AM Elgin. Can ya tell I'm excited about this? *chuckles* Yeah, that'd be a darn near easy give away, wouldn't it? He he he As for the no camera ... no worries ... I know I'm guilty of that scenario a bit too much . *nods* I agree ... which is why I keep my older ones and drive 'em whenever I can . And, thank you for the compliment ... definitely appreciated! Sadly, tho, I do need to get the rust taken care of ... sooner rather than later.... If only I had the money . He he he
-
No ... no worries, Sixty8. I kind of agree with you ... except, they screwed it up last time they gave the name a hiatus.... *shrugs* So, who knows...he he he.
-
Actually, it's a '72 ... and thank you . Sadly, it isn't quite so nice in person (has a few rust issues), but that's fine by me . Wow...that SS sounds gorgeous ... did you get any pics of it? And, Sixty8 ... thank you . *chuckles* Some consider that the main benefit, yes ... but, I prefer to have RWD ... which my current daily driver ('87 MC LS) is. Just trying to find a suitable "winter beater" car so I don't get anymore rust on the '87 MC LS (virtually rust free when I bought it ... and through 2 winters, thus far, is still relatively rust free, with a few very minor exceptions). *grins* Nice ... thank you !

*nods* So very true.... Good luck with whatever you decide!

Holy crap, BV ... that's so not cool . You go see a doctor at all, by chance? Ya never know.... Hope you feel better soon! I can certainly understand how your Dad ... and you ... feel about all of this. It was tough seeing Gram have to have the pug put to sleep that was the last living like to her Mother ... this, of course, was a heck of a while ago, but I can still recall those feelings as if they happened yesterday. Odd how time has a varying sense of reality.....
-
*raises eyebrow* Wow ... that's not bad at all ... I may have to look into that a bit more then. Though, a used Charger wouldn't be bad either.... Speaking of GTOs, though, tonight, I finally saw a GTO commercial ... awesome, too! I'm not sure why I didn't catch this one last night.... I agree ... a new Riviera would be nice, but not on Zeta, I don't think ... because, as far as I know, Rivieras were mostly FWD, right? I test drove an '85 Riviera last weekend and almost bought it for my winter car ... until I remembered it is FWD.....
-
wildmanjoe, I don't believe they do have any live streams online, but I'll find out ... and if they do offer that, I'll post in the new thread when I create it next week after I sign the contract . If you're serious....let's talk . Heh...the waiting is the hardest part ... I know all too well.... Good luck on getting it ... and do keep us updated.

Glad it worked out for you, Shantanu! Sounds like the "depression" was much ado about nothin', eh? *sighs* Sure wish I could experience that type of "depression"....heh. *nods* Thank you . I, too, hope it works out! I'm not happy about having to pay for the time, but paying for the time and actually doing the shows is a lot better than never trying it at all . But, have to finalize the contract and record the promos, etc., first ... once those are done ... then I can announce it and celebrate ... he he heh.

Hmm...sounds like that is the Tony Stewart edition. And, no, those do not come with V8s, as you had noted you wanted in your original post....
-
Hmm...well, if ya'll don't know how I voted..... AM, Depending on how old of a car you want ... check out montecarloss.com ... specifically the for sale section ... for 4th gen MC SSs....plenty of 'em with V8s . If, however, you want newer ('90s and up), the only MCs to come with a V8 are the 2006s.... Good luck with your search! *nods* You're welcome! Glad you were able to blow off some steam.... I haven't been able to ... yet. Tho, if all works out well, next week, I hope to sign a contract with the local radio station to do a radio show! It would be every Friday night in April for 3 hours ... and then we'd go from there. Course, I'll be paying for the time ... but it's something I've been wanting to do since my college days. So, we'll see. Meantime, sometimes life sucks ... he he he.
-
*nods* Very true. Yet, isn't it ironic how, at least in the "mainstream" sectors, people feel that buying a new car is cheaper? *shrugs* All I know is I've noticed a lot FEWER payments/bills since my 2000 mc LS was totaled 3 years ago ... and I'm driving a 1987 MC LS as my daily driver.... ...as did I (2000 LS)...for 4 years. But, the minute I got behind the wheel of my buddy's then '87 MC LS ... I knew the 2000 LS was just not going to work for me any longer. And, when the 2000 got totaled due to a flood in '03 ... I scooped up my current daily driver, '87 MC LS ... and haven't regretted it (except for having to drive it in winter)..... *shrugs* Cort, "Mr MC" / "Mr Road Trip", 32swm/pig valve/pacemaker MC:family.IL.guide.future = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/ Models.HO = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/trainroom.html "I wanna drive" ... No worries ... just jokin' around with ya, bud . I can understand/empathize with you on the personal issues level. Yeah, I know ... far from the same type, but I still feel pulled in several different directions, feel overwhelmed, feel uneasy, etc....aye. Enough "sad" talk.... Instead, congrats on the bid on the house ... I'd say you're lucky! Good luck!!!
