I'd say "go for it" ... and see what they tell ya. I, personally, love to detail cars ... but, I take my time ... I don't like being "rushed" through a job. Good luck! if you thought the monte was ugly before...

Yeah, I know . I'd prefer that my "evil twin" never come back ... and he won't, so long as I don't own another FWD monte carlo ... and keep my RWD Monte Carlos . *pauses* Course, I'd also prefer not to have to go through the new health issues either.... *sighs* Sometimes, though, we can't get want we want. BTW ... in all seriousness, while that artwork in the first post is a bit, well, odd, I gotta hand it to whoever did that ... looks like some great work, not to mention time and money into it..... -

LOL!!! Yeah, not only am I into drugs, but I just bought that beautiful piece of artwork in this thread's original post ... and have turned back into my "evil twin" that took over my life when I owned my 2000 mc LS..... Go figure . *pauses* Course, I suppose that scenario is much better than having a "mass" on my liver ... and a bunch of other new health issues. Aye. Or not. *chuckles* And I own older Monte Carlos.... *shakes head* I'm offline for one day ... and look what happens.... Aye. I agree with Sixty8.....go figure. AMEN! It helped that I was able to get the older 4 MCs out today for the first time this year! It was awesome! Course, finding out at my cardiology checkup last Thursday that I had a 33-minute "episode" with the pacemaker (which means I have to see the electrophysiologist again) ... and that the echocardiagram found a "mass" on/near my liver (which means I have to have an ultrasound done this week) ... does not make me feel good since it means more wasted vacation time ... and who knows all what else. BUT...today was GORGEOUS! *raises eyebrow* Wow....point taken and noted. To the topic at hand, Walt did say a while ago that C&G was about the present and future ... not about the past. And, I agree. I'm not sure a heritage forum would be a good idea. But, then again, the videos mostly have been of old commercials and older cars ... so, perhaps a video section or thread isn't a good idea either...? Course, I enjoy seeing the videos.... *shrugs* Cort, "Mr MC" / "Mr Road Trip", 32swm/pig valve/pacemaker MC:family.IL.guide.future = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/ Models.HO = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/trainroom.html What's it like to buy your favorite car brand new? That doesn't bother me so much ... at least ONE was there. Besides, a lot of other cool cars to look at, too! Thanks again for sharin'!

Perhaps you've seen the 1962 Pontiac Monte Carlo convertible on eBay recently. Thought that was a bit interesting? Try this on for size ... Packard had a Monte Carlo. A friend of mine who owns a 1941 Packard, sent me a page that included the following info... "Your recent items on the 1948 Station Sedan and Professor Ward's 'The Packard Legacy' (issue 87) seem to lament Packard's failure to keep up with Cadillac and others in styling and more modern engineering. Richard Arbib's original Monte Carlo...indicates that Packard did anticipate (or at least react to) the GM hardtops introduced to the public in January 1949. If Packard was not thinking along these lines, at least Richard Arbib over at Henney was. I wonder if the public ever saw this first Packard hardtop or whether it was strictly a styling exercise? (Chris N, San Gabriel, CA)" George Hamlin responds: "The original Monte Carlo of 1949 was apparently limited to the sight of people who wandered into Arbib's shops at Henney. It was likely an operative car, but the trim was mocked up with aluminum foil wrapped over wood. Arbib failed to interest Packard in this car -- a rather common occurrence until the 1952 Pan American and afterward. Arbib resurrected the name for two coupe de ville-styled vehicles in 1952, one of which ended up on the cover of 'Cars' magazine, and one of which was found in the Michigan woods a decade or so ago. The latter is currently being restored by America's Packard Museum for celebrations in Warren, Ohio...." *grins* I know I appreciate it ... awesome drawing!!! But, I'm not sure I'd call it a Caprice Estate ... doesn't seem "big" enough.... *shrugs* But, as long as it is RWD . Hmm...interesting. A few months ago, I saw a maroon 1982 Chevrolet Caprice Classic 4-door parked out front of a Hyundai lot. I did a double take as I drove by ... then, still not believing what I saw, I turned around and drove back to the dealership. To my astonishment, a salesman walked out to talk to me about the car ... told me that they had had more people stop in a few hours to take a look at that car than people stopping at the dealership the entire previous week. Perhaps it isn't such a bad idea ... put a competitor's car ... new or old ... out front to attract attention ... and thus, get people to look at the new cars..... *nods* Yes, it is hard to tell ... and last night, I couldn't remember the name of the Buick version when I posted...he he he. Nope, I can't ... at least not for another few months. I have to be there a year and a half before I can transfer to anther department (I started last July). And, by the time I reach that "milestone", my department will be under a new company (we were recently sold) ... and I'll lose that eligibility. *shrugs*
-
Hrrmmmm.... I'm not so convinced .... yet. As I've looked closer at it, it seems that something about it isn't Chevelle "enough". For some reason, I look at it ... and see the Buick version in the sidepanels and the back window feature/shape. I'm probably wrong (as usual), but I don't know.... *shrugs* Cort, "Mr MC" / "Mr Road Trip", 32swm/pig valve/pacemaker MC:family.IL.guide.future = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/ Models.HO = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/trainroom.html "I'll be with you" ...
