  1. Hmm...well, the plans are as follows ... whether it'll all work out or not, who knows...nothing as "spectacular" as the 2-week road trips I've taken the last couple years.... June 22-26 ... IL-KY-IN-TN Thursday ... drive to Nashville TN for the MC Nationals, Friday-Sunday (route TBD). Sunday ... go to Big Sandy TN for lunch; Jackson TN for dinner (or vice versa). Monday ... drive home. July 14-17 ... IN-OH-MD-NJ-DE Thursday ... in the evening, get a "jump start" to DE for Monte MadneSS, Friday-Sunday. Sunday ... get a head start on going home, arriving home on Monday. Not sure which route I'll take (northern, via turnpike; southern, via I-70), but most-likely will make a stop in the Baltimore MD area going and/or coming. August 11-14 ... IN-OH-PA-MI Thursday ... drive to IN (near Ft Wayne). Friday ... drive to OH (near Akron), possibly taking Route 30. Saturday ... drive to PA for the family reunion that afternoon. Sunday ... drive to MI for a late dinner. Monday ... drive home. October 11-17 ... TX-OK-KS/MO-IA-WI This'll be the "road trip" (mini, as it is) for 2006... Tuesday evening ... drive as far south as possible (either via I-57, I-55 or I-39 to I-55). Wednesday ... drive to Dallas TX, via Little Rock AR. Thursday ... stay in Dallas area Friday ... drive up to the Oklahoma City area. Saturday ... drive to Wichita KS. Sunday ... via Kansas City, drive to IA (Des Moines area, perhaps). Monday ... drive to southern WI. Tuesday ... drive home. 7. Hmmm...I've only received a handful of responses thus far. Is this challenge too hard? Perhaps I should come up with some "easier" questions.....
  8. It's been 10 years since I last hosted a radio show, having hosted "The Saturday Evening Mostly Country Music Show" for 3 years on my college's radio station, WBKE, 89.5 FM, N Manchester IN, ending that show in May 1996, right before I graduated. Since then, I've had a lot of different experiences, met a lot of people, and added heavily to my musical collection. So, now, I'm very excited about hosting "CD Showcase" on Elgin IL's WRMN 1410 AM ... perhaps even more excited than I am about getting my older 4 Chevrolet Monte Carlos out for this year in a few weeks. What will hear if you tune in? Some great artists ... and history of some of the songs/artists. So, if you're so inclined, please mark your calendar for this Friday, April 7, as well as April 14, April 21 and April 28 and join me! Remember, the show is 8p-11p Central time, which translates to 9p-midnight Eastern, 7p-10p Mountain and 6p-9p Pacific. If you can't get WRMN on your AM dial, fire up the web ... and go to http://www.wrmn1410.com ... and click on "Warp Radio" on the list to the left. Keep in mind that the first five minutes of every hour is for USA Network news. If you plan to record the show and are willing to share a copy with me and/or others, please Email me at [email protected]. Still wondering what to expect? The following artists are among the ones you will hear throughout the month of April... John Anderson Barenaked Ladies Bellamy Brothers Suzy Bogguss Glen Campbell Mary-Chapin Carpenter Johnny Cash Chicago Earl Thomas Conley Johnny Duncan Exile Fastball Janie Fricke Larry Gatlin Crystal Gayle Mickey Gilley Vince Gill Merle Haggard Waylon Jennings The Judds Annie Lennox Patty Loveless Barbara Mandrell Richard Marx Ronnie McDowell Reba McEntire Jo Dee Messina Ronnie Milsap Gary Morris Michael Martin Murphy Juice Newton Oak Ridge Boys KT Oslin Dolly Parton Eddie Rabbitt Colin Raye Jerry Reed REO Speedwagon Sawyer Brown George Strait Sylvia Tanya Tucker Steve Wariner Hank Williams Jr

  14. Hmm....interesting how a flare of authentic heritage (i.e. current Ford Mutang and concept Camaro) can inject excitement/enthusiasm into a car company, eh? Too bad the big 3 took so long to realize this ... but, hope springs eternal . 16. WOW! I saw the segment on CBS' 60 Minutes ... and enjoyed the sneak peak at the upcoming Cadillacs. And, the "we'd be braindead" comment about "to build or not to build" the concept Camaro ... was priceless . 17. PREVIEW You may remember my Monte Carlo-based challenges. This is _similar_ to those, with a few differences. First, it covers various Chevrolet models, SSs in particular. Second, the point totals are based on the entire board/group ... not individually. Third, the point tallys are simple (see below). And, fourth, instead of individual prizes, the boards/groups are competing (as paired, see below) for the prize of being mentioned on one of my upcoming Friday evening radio shows in April. PT VALUES (Jeopardy! and Multiple Choice rounds) + 1 for each response (regardless if it is correct or not ... thus, a "participation" point) + 3 for each correct response - 2 for each incorrect response PAIRINGS Monte Carlo Mailing List (MCML) v El Camino Mailing List (ECML) Cheers & Gears (C&G) v GM Inside News (GMI) 1st Gen Monte Carlo (FGMC) v 4th Gen Monte Carlo SS (MCSS) 3rd Gen Monte Carlo (3GMC) v 2nd Gen A-Body (2GMC) National Monte Carlo Owners Association (NMCOA) v Monte MadneSS (MMSS) Illinois Monte Carlo Owners Group (IMCOG) v Monte Carlo City (MCC) 5th Gen My Monte (5GMM) v 6th Gen 2000montecarlo (6GMC) ChevyTalk (CT) v Race Day News (RDN) Automobile Forum (AF) v Racing 1 (R1) TriplePlate (TP) v CarNuts (CN) WANT TO PARTICIPATE? 18. 76ChevyTrucker, My AM radio still works ... sometimes. So, I want to replace it, but keep it for "safekeeping". A console wouldn't look good in the MC, I don't think.... And, NOS ... thank you!

  20. Come on up, 76ChevyTrucker! And, as for that extra unit, I've been thinking of leaving the original AM radio in my '76 ... and getting an FM/AM radio unit to put elsewhere, but I'm not sure where that'd work. It would fit in the glove compartment, but I use that . He he he
  21. Dangumit ... another job I don't believe I'd be qualifed for . Heh...go figure ... I want a job where I'd be traveling a lot ... but I'm not qualified for the ones that seem to travel a lot.... *sighs* One of these days .
  22. Olds Guy, Where does this friend of yours live? I love playing pool, too.... Hmmm.... And, Josh, perhaps I just need to hang around with you a bit more when I'm in Michigan next . He he he Course, this thread reminds me of "Scarlet Fever" by Kenny Rogers: I stood outside the Lucky Star staring at the flashing sign, it read 'come on in and watch young scarlet's body come alive, let her dance for you, cast her spell, you'll swear you can't believe her ... be careful not to catch that scarlet fever'. So, I paid my fare and walked down front and found an empty chair, as I settled in young Scarlet took the ribbons from her hair ... the moves her body made, while the music played, were the likes I've never seen ... Scarlet locked another heart upon her chain.... Now I get Scarlet fever, every time I see her.... ...she had a way of making a man believe she danced for only him.... .....
