Disappointing car colors - your take on this
knightfan26917 replied to trinacriabob's topic in The Lounge
*chuckles* I remember one day at work (while I was still at Sears), after a meeting was over, I happened to glance out the window at the parking lot below ... and noticed how "bland" it was ... with various shades of silver, gray, tan, dark blue, dark maroon, etc. ... all colors that "blended" into each other, with only a few standout yellows and deep blues.... That was a sad view, imho . *nods* I agree whole-heartedly. This is part of the reason why I so much love going to car cruises/events ... to see all of the "cars of yesterday" that are STILL driven and enjoyed . *chuckles* I know about the "cool" factor ... and being a "barge" ... since the MC was similar to the Chevelle/Malibu. Too bad you didn't get any pics of the one you saw, Croc. Hot dang! I have a 1979 brown Chevrolet Monte Carlo promo model...which can be seen here: http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/trainroom.html (3rd pic down) I'm guessing that El Camino is an '81 or above ... as those hubcaps are similar to the '81/'82 Malibu hubcaps.... Nice models, OG!!! *nods* Oh my goodness yes. Everytime I go by a junk yard. And, more personally ... when my parents had to trade in their former 1976 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. And, then, 18 years later, when I discovered that same car had been junked just weeks before I had sent to the IL Secretary of State for a title search for it . Even more personally ... my former '88 MC LS ... should still be here, but it isn't. *sighs* What a "depressing" thread...he heh.
