  1. Well, I'm one of the brave ones, too. My daily is my '87 MC LS ... and it has been more reliable, all-year round, yes, including winter, than my former '00 Celebrity/Lumina/monte carlo LS ever was.... As for lack of features ... imo, the CL seats (more cushiony) in my '87 MC LS are a lot more comfortable than the buckets were in my Lumina. As for other things, well, I've been happy without 'em the last 4 years or so ... and was happy without 'em prior to that in my older 4 MCs. Not to mention less costs in insurance ... and, best of all, NO car payments! Sixty8 ... sounds like you have a lead on a replacement car already...? 2. *nods* Thanks for replying directly, VenSeattle. I can certainly understand where you are coming from ... and, even, I admit, your arguments for what you believe. Still ... what GM has done with car names over the last 20 years or so has really rubbed me the wrong way ... and it isn't likely to change, given their insistance on insulting people. Be that as it may ... I'm not sure we can completely understand which would have a more successful outcome and why. As I've read the different posts, it is obvious that each (RWD/FWD) have their own noted strengths and weaknesses ... both having staunch supporters. *shrugs* While I understand the comparison between the Dodge Charger and the Ch#$r%*et Celebrity/Lumina/impala is made for the FUTURE cars, I'm still not convinced that the two CURRENT cars should be considered direct competitors (as many seem to, anyway), given that _currently_ one is RWD and the other is FWD. One would think that each has their own buyer base without regard to size, price, etc. *sighs* But, I know ... again, that's just me. Sadly, the more I read here, the less welcomed I feel. 3. Chris, I agree! At least one (if not 2) guys on Carnuts.us attends every week ... and comes back with LOADS of pictures for us to view. One of these days, I will get to CA ... and actually go to this. I really need to..... Anyway, hope it's OK to put a link here ... if not and it gets removed, I'll try to remember to PM it to you, Chris. [And, if it is NOT OK ... my sincerest apologies up front.] WARNING for 56K users: http://www.carnuts.us/viewtopic.php?t=2559&start=0 Cort:34swm."Mr Monte Carlo.Mr Road Trip".pig valve&pacemaker WRMNshowcase.legos.HO.models.MCs.RTs.CHD = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort "I'm about to put the hammer down" ... 12. Well, it is rather nice to know that I'm NOT alone, after all ... because it feels increasingly more like I am the only one who feels this way..... *shrugs* And, yeah, I admit ... I get a bit jealous over those of ya getting new cars. As I noted, I'd love to have a new car, but since nothing out there really grabs my attention, I'm not willing to put down any money for something I'm going to end up disliking or even hating. Been there, done that ... twice, in fact. Heh ... and, yet, even a LITTLE bit part of me misses those 2 cars.... But, then again, I get attached to cars a bit too easily . he he he Cort:34swm."Mr Monte Carlo.Mr Road Trip".pig valve.pacemaker WRMNshowcase.lego.HO.model.MCs.RT.CHD = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort "I've had enough" ... 13. Hey GMTruckGuy, That sounds like an awesome experience all the way around (of course, with the exception of the commute/driving...heh). I can't remember where I heard/saw it, but I know last year I heard/saw that they do a "test run" of the ball drop before "just in case". I've never quite understood what that "just in case" was all about, but whatever. Very cool, though ... too bad you didn't get the camera out sooner. And, I second the query for the pics of the Pontiac.... 15. Wow....it's starting to really feel like RWD people are not welcomed here at all..... Interesting query/thoughts, indeedy. Given the hatred for RWD, I'm guessing the FWD/AWD Intrepid/Concorde would have done much better in comparison to the Charger/300 duo. But, not for me. And a class-leading FWD/AWD Celebrity/Lumina/impala wouldn't make me want to buy it either.... Hmmm...which reminds me. Given the automakers and the general public's obvious hatred for RWD, why on earth is the Dodge Charger considered a competitor to the likes of the Ch#$r%*et Celebrity/Lumina/impala and Toyota Camry/Avalon? I mean ... I know WHY (size, etc.), but when it comes to the RWD/FWD/AWD discussion, it makes NO sense to compare them, since people are so pro-FWD/AWD and anti-RWD. *shrugs* Cort:34swm."Mr Monte Carlo.Mr Road Trip".pig valve.pacemaker WRMNshowcase.lego.HO.model.MCs.RT.CHD = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort "I'm not the only person with these things in mind" ... 17. Wow, caddy ... sounds like you and your Mom are BOTH very excited about this ... and that's cool. Congrats. *sighs* I just wish Ch#$r%*et made something I was excited about....
