  1. Oooh, Magic Tatas! haha We won't have to worry about the Indians entering our auto market anytime soon...

A lot of the aerospace industry is government work, paid by tax dollars...
  3. I have a feeling the DTS and STS will end production in.. oh, say about 2 model years, and will be replaced by an all-new Cadillac. You know, kind of how the G8 is supposed to be replacing the Grand Prix and Bonneville (although the Bonne's been out of production for a few years already).
  4. It makes more sense to have bigger brakes in the front. I just think it'll look awkward with bigger wheels in the front.FWIW, the front brakes do about 65-70% of the braking and the rears do about 30-35%.

Well, I'm an ME major and I have to take up to Calc III plus a few other high-level math classes, two chem classes, two physics classes, and other ME stuff.

    YAY!

Wait, let me get this straight. You'd give up Camaro concept, your sweet ass B-59, and a White Diamond EXT for the four seconds of you being "hot & naked with the girl you love?"
  7. That's the problem. You've already got the beater, now you need the nice car.
  8. I'm really anxious too.. about a '68-72 Corvette and a new Camaro. Blah.
  9. Love the backward bowtie...

Does anybody know anything about Aerospace Engineering? There are a few guys at my work (auto engineers) who are telling me to try to get into the aerospace industry once I'm done with college. How do you guys feel about that? Do you know anything about that industry to lend me information on?
  11. I'm sorry, drop? Gas around here is $3.39 for 87. Yeah.
  12. Yep, that's exactly what would be in my car. My winter car. lol
  13. How much time am I willing to spend? Well, it's a C3 Corvette. If you're not willing to spend time to make it absolutely perfect, I don't think you should own one, unless you buy it already fully restored and just have to do regular maintenance. Therefore, there's a good chance I'd take my merry time and strip her all the way down to the frame and do every drop of paint myself. Sand 'er down real well everywhere, paint her, and make her look good. Engine? It doesn't really matter. All engines are buildable, but I'd have to research to find out which engine would be the easiest/cheapest to find parts for. I'm sure big HP and great sound is attainable with all of the engines, from the 327 all the way to the 427, but I'd probably only be able to find a 327 for an good price. Transmission's got to be the four speed manual now that I can drive a stick lol. Originality doesn't really matter to me. I don't exactly need matching numbers or anything like that. I'm not a car collector, just a young dude hoping to be able to attain a car I've been drooling over for awhile. Then take pride in it and be able to say I did everything to the car myself. I fully understand that it would take a lot of time, money, and patience, but I'm more than willing to put that effort in. Hmmm, sounds like a good Photoshop to start working on...
  14. Very, very cool. What happened to the diesel they showcased at an autoshow in Europe a few months ago?
  15. Meanwhile, nobody caught the second half of my post...
  16. haha I love the cowbell skit... Anyway, like I said, this might be next summer if I decide to pursue it. I'm getting the new Camaro, definitely, but I'm waiting until 2011 when I'm closer to graduation and can pay for it no problem. At that time, I'll probably get rid of the Cobalt and buy an older, used car (Grand Prix, Bonneville, ...) a few months later for the winter/crappy weather. But, again, that won't be until I'm close to graduation and ready to land a truly full-time job (instead of working full-time only half the year). Meanwhile, if I don't spend any or much money on the Cobalt, I don't think I'd be committing a crime by spending some of my extra money on a project car, so long as I don't splurge and do everything at once. If I were to buy one, the first thing I'd do is bodywork, which should be cheaper than engine/brakes/suspension.
  17. After this work term and next I will have $4-8k in play money and no bills. I'm just retarded in love with these things. I nearly orgasm everytime I see z28luvr's sig...
  18. And the only prescription is a '68-72 Corvette. Someone talk me out of it! I want to buy one, maybe next spring. I want to just keep an eye out for one that's really, really cheap (aka a car that's been sitting around and needs a lot of TLC) and then restore it to look exactly how I want it to sound, look, and feel. I've been fantasizing over Corvettes for the last year or so very badly. At this point, I'd even give up my Cobalt for extra money to restore a '68-72 Stingray and buy a cheap Grand Prix for a winter car or something. On a side note, two of my very good friends totalled their Camaros in the past 3 months. One was a 2000 Z28 built by GMPP and the other was the, yes the, Series III.
  19. No idea. I honestly don't know anything about the BRX.
  20. See this link and go to GMT166 (although that name is given to the BRX on this site. It's incorrect):http://www3.sympatico.ca/tedkrygier/future.htm It looks as though the SRX will grow a bit, the BRX will be approximately the size of the current SRX, maybe a bit smaller, and there will be the CTS Wagon (CTW?) underneath those. Oh, and there are going to be a few people on this site telling you I'm wrong, too. Just forewarning you. :AH-HA_wink:
  21. I'm going to guess and say it's not the same. One paint cannot be a pearl and metallic at the same time as far as I know.Is this a medium blue? I really like the light blue on the Aveos.

  23. Yeah, the launch is actually slated for this month.
  24. Not bad, but the CTS will make this look like cheap, chinzy $h!.. They need to work on that.
  25. You're right. The current generation SRX is going away in 2010.Until GM publically makes a statement, anything 4 years from now is up in the air. They could cut it mid-program. However, the program still exists for a NG SRX and smaller BRX.
