No- I was not mesmerized. Frida was not producing 'good stuff'. More like 'junk stuff'. Phil was very good, esp in his day. I was probably struck by it on Miami Vice as unique music, but I just have no use for 80s pop/whateverthatwas now.

We have that Costco Cuisinart here at the Ranch, we would also give it 2 thumbs up. Get yourself an oil mister- it keeps things on the rack from sticking yet they're still not oily. Feedback- it seems to run a little high- you can reduce both the time & temp slightly, or watch it toward the end. Strangely, it makes toast very slow. :)

This was my mother's 'painting box'- it's prolly from the 50s. Certainly not a quality piece... but thought I'd at least make it structural again. Top & bottom are plywood, which was all coming delaminated. So over a period of evenings, I glued & clamped it various ways, plus used wood filler in some sports. Had to repair the rear of the lid where a jagged section was missing, making the hinge on that side non-functional. Anyway- it's back together. Mom (& dad) paint regularly, but I don't expect she'll use it, but maybe she'll enjoy having it again; she has a studio room down her basement (I think it's been in my stash of stuff for over 10 years now).

I recently finished some minor tasks in this 1400 SF house. Online prices for it est $265-305K, but it's small, has an awkward layout, and -other than the kitchen,- hasn't really been updated since the '50s. Converted the under-eaves attic to a bedroom/bathroom, but the whole thing is in need of massive attention/cosmetics (in & out). Just went on the market for $325K UPDATE- I see they just dropped the price to $310K. IMO, it's condition and awkwardness put it $50K below the bottom range, or $215K-ish.

It's also going to break so many unbroken things in America. Not sure why you think it's well done. Missing a lot of info vs. worldometers. IMO- the time lapse graphic was pointless. Do 'we' really need to 'have fun' on a COVID-19 tracking site?

Drew pokes his head in here again and a 561 page thread is going to disappear.

I like to strike a line between talent and appeal. I'm sure famous opera singers & ballet dancers are highly talented within their field, just keep that crap away from me. No doubt Collins had strong talent & produced 'good stuff', but it's certainly not in my record cabinet. Olds- feel free to post away on the links; I merely reserve the right not to click on them. EDIT :: all right- I listened to a third of #2 and half of #4. There. :)

I’m sorry- hope it passes soon!

Took a ride to pick up a ladder I had left at a bathroom remodel job (finished) and drop off their key. Have a garden gate to build, doesn't seem to be any time pressure from anywhere- supposed to be sunny / 58 tomm but maybe I don't feel like going. Still a lot of cleaning/purging going on here at the Ranch, and the shop can use a day of organizing.

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
balthazar replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
No one cares for old jags or rolls or Bentleys. Use em all in british demo derbies (if you can keep them running long enough). Not sad. But a half million dollars put into a car worth 2% of that??? ???????????? -
O negative, no health issues, never smoked, cholesterol around 165, only med is an anti-inflammatory for arthritis. - - - - -

Spain did have a big jump in confirmed; 6300, but the US had a bigger one: 10,100. These numbers are not virus transmissions, but confirmation of having it. Infected numbers in all cases are higher. Still, Spain has 751 cases / million people, the U.S. has 132. But Spain's population is only 46 million. Does that at all mean the U.S. will grow to 750 cases/million? No. Spain 91 people /square kilometer, the U.S. is only 36/sq kilometer. So many variables it's really tough to make any comparisons.

^ OK, but WRT GM, what would you rather lose; $15/share, or $440/share?- 282 replies

GM News: GM's Upcoming Electric Onslaught
balthazar replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
With the considerable price surcharge for electrics, and gas sliding under $2/gal & dropping, EVs are going to see a steeper decline than IC vehicles in the near future. It will be fascinating to watch the speculation on Tesla's stock... Tesla was as high as $917, it's $434 today- about a 52% decline.- 282 replies

I'm sure it varies by company & location, but my impression was that you could NOT rent a car if you were under 25; the major companies just wouldn't do it.

What tends to be confusing is the different projections when no one really knows. NY gov came out & said "40-80% could get infected". That's not remotely a scientific statement, but a mathmatical calculation. Unfortunately, this virus is nowhere near that simple; a glance at the per capita infection rates across the globe tell that plainly.

^ That's the one I linked to earlier in this thread (page 552). John Hopkins' face page, for some reason, seemed to think separating the tallies into numerical lists & disregarding location somehow made sense. In a 'shut down' scenario, I want to know, first, what's happening in my area. I do not care how my area ranks globally in 'new cases', for example.
