  1. I saw him perform a few years before he died. I & my friend were the only young folk there; I didn’t think 50-something women groupies were a thing.
  2. • I didn't say 'previous presidents'; I said 'previous president' (singular). • I'll bet the news desks shown in the linked video also had things crossed out/changed on their transcripts, too. It's all immaterial; the terminology was initially used to communicate the specific virus, nothing more. It took weeks for the official scientific name to become widespread. But some op-eds will ignore the masses that used the same terminology repeatedly and try and make you believe only 1 person used it (and what he meant by it). That's called 'being fed a narrative'.
  3. Seems Rivian pushed production back into 2021: https://autos.yahoo.com/rivian-production-launch-pushed-back-191200000.html Very cool.
  4. Non-sequitor. Cadillac is not a singular, stand-alone corporation, but 'one knife in the drawer'. BMW/MB/Audi have to reach way downmarket to keep the factories humming. A8/A7 sales aren't doing it anymore. And entry-level cars do not 'get people in the brand who then move up'; that's a disproven myth.
  5. Previous president did the exact same thing- no transcripts, no thesis’s, no high school records- all permanently sealed. WRT calling COVID-19 something, see my link from the prior page. The above are 2 apparent examples of watching only 1 network news source.
  6. I do not believe nor do I find any singular network news to be wholly objective & balanced. One’s best bet is to watch multiple ones and balance them against each other. Because they’re all biased to a degree.
  7. Most everyone was calling it that in the beginning, TCB. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eZtCq1aj2g&feature=emb_logo
  8. Only thing of remote interest I saw at my dealer was a circa ‘80 Riviera. The rest was a couple decent trucks and modern junk.
  9. Right: the CT4 & XT4 are wrong for Cadillac- said it before here. Especially the CT4- too close to CT5. Cadillac is not a full-spectrum brand and does not have try to be. Never was in the past.
  10. The A/gla is Daimler's Buick line. In fact, damiler should split it and the C-class off into a separate brand. Just call it 'Benz' or even simply 'Daimler', cut all the prices by 20% and really go after toyoter. Stop playing around.
  11. My buddy's '77 Malibu ( I think it's a '77, but unfortunately I don't care). Was a 6-banger, now it's a 454 with an 850 Demon. Plans on some shakedown runs this week.
  12. Olds actually saw sales rise quite a bit in '99 but long-term, that's correct. Didn't Olds announce discontinuation in '00 tho? That didn't help that year or the next 4 much. RE the supposedly ironclad accord, it's down 42% from it's peak and 31% just since 2014. It used to sell 4 times the Malibu, in '19 it only sold twice the Malibu.
  13. ^ 17 million per MONTH?? That's 200 million vehicles per year. Something's wrong there.
  14. I believe this is overstated. With the low ownership rate (vs leasing) & high fleet sales in Europe, those brands enjoy much higher margins in the US market that in Europe.
  15. Whipped this up this morning. Metal frame is from a '60s window A/C unit I scrapped, board is one of the shelves from my wife's changing table I scrapped, and the lights were from an '80s master bath I redid last year. I had the idea of making a lit-up advertising sign with the A/C frame. Now... I have no idea what to paint the actual sign up as, so this will go back in the project que for the future.
  16. With the price of gas cheap and the price of Teslas high, it may take a few years to get back on track of 2019 levels. Much like the Model X hasn't assumed it's sales leadership over the Model S, I wonder if the Model Y will also falter hard against the Model 3 and NOT provide the volume boost Musk is hoping for.
  17. Got to walk around one of those lil BMW converts, Z4 maybe; I didn't notice. I would say it was over 10 years old, tho clean. I opened the trunk, wanted to find something that said 'this is a superbly-built machine from a high quality company', but nothing- body assembly, hinging, trunk push-button lift handle - all decidedly pedestrian & mainstream. Could've been a nissan. One thing that was curious- the sheetmetal around both door handles was dented inward, and the door handles are 'inboard' of the curve of the doors. IE; if someone swung the doors open hard, say in a garage, the apex of the door would hit the wall, not the (flush) door handles. Not sure how it would've occurred, but certainly seems like sub-standard strength sheet metal. EDIT :: It was an ‘01 Z3. Junky lil car.
  18. ^ He's supposed to build a FACTORY there. I think it matters.
  19. Buick outsold Tesla in China 21:1 in 2019.
  20. Is the 7-series new for '20?
  21. Well hell-ooooo there!
  22. This blurb is from insideevs.com RE sales reporting. GM got criticized for going to quarterly yet once again, look at how many other OEMs then began 'getting shifty' with reporting :
  23. That tiny screen is in a '20 7-series?? BMW has really lost whatever forward momentum they had going.
  24. Does the highest HP engine in ANY given model sell more that all the others?
  25. China's car sales in Feb were down 79% vs a year ago.
