  1. Chrome cheesecake ~
  2. I don't want a volvo either. Not many people do.
  3. Pontiac built loads of turbo cars, tho usually 6s and 8s. FAR more interesting than tweed-upholtered volvos. So when are you trading up to a volvo?
  4. 6 steps.
  5. ^ Walked around one on the Ford lot; it's as offensively teeny / tiny tire'd as the pics look. Why you fawn over these tiny lumpy CUVs, I cannot fathom.
  6. All the 2-dr sedans & hardtops I've owned/been around were mostly full-size cars. Next time I'm over my buddy's, I'll check out getting in/out of his '66 LeMans 2-dr rear seat. Wife had an '87 Mustang LX but I don't remember if I was ever in it's back seat.
  7. • Bill- what have you heard RE the Powershift auto @ Ford? • Looked at~ '09 Civic coupe, 44K, $9K A handful of Focii; '14 SE sedan, 48K, $9985 '15 Fusion, 80K, $11,145. On that one, if we put $6K down & financed $6500, monthly would be $150. Too many miles. Rejecting anything showing an accident or over 60K miles. • Our 2016 Jeep Liberty shopping conclusion was re-affirmed, $10K just doesn't buy you much in the way of a long-term car. • Looking thru a couple of car sales sites (Car Gurus), there are a number of Cruzes that seemingly fit the bill. Jeeps are way too pricey- at the prices used Wranglers cost, Jeep should be selling 500K/year. • One Ford/subaru dealer was advertising 'Motor Trend Certified'/warranteed vehicles, that's a new one on me. Wasn't enticing me any.
  8. Manual trans are like electric cars- no one wants 'em! Looked at a clean, bright red Focus hatch, 2016, 27K miles, $10.9K, been on the lot for 301 days! Stick car.
  9. I don't find any of the Big 3 truck distasteful- well maybe the Super Duty. Were I to rank them: 1. '19 GMC 2. '19 Ram 3. '18 F-150 4. '19 SIlverado but I could own any of them.
  10. Holy crap, you know my day was made : just spotted a '59 Olds wagon, silver/ blue/ primer/ patch panels, motoring down U.S. Rt 1. No pic, damnit.
  11. Distributor on Ford flathead is in the same location, BTW. I think this engine was built just to showcase a very non-conventional re-engineering. Revised cam allows it to breath 'in reverse'.
  12. what do you see?
  13. I'm holding out for the inevitable turbo 4 S-class.
  14. • Volts within 50 miles of me with 50K miles or so are $14.5K and up. • Focus, 2014, 38K miles, $7995 • Focus, 2012, 25K miles, $7700
  15. • Not buying a 21 yr old kid a luxury car. • Mustang is not something I had considered... have to weigh pros & cons. 2012 V6, 28K miles, $11K, 38 miles from me. • Insurance for now will be on me. • Toyotas are absolutely the bottom of the barrel for me- too many problems in recent years. Won't touch one.
  16. Going to look around tomorrow / still feeling bewildered.
  17. I dunno about 'first rate' with the mismatched fenders... People have been building these for years now. Not sure if there is a market for a factory one tho; I'd hold off if I were calling the shot.
  18. No; Jag's worst nightmare is convincing people to walk into their showrooms.
  19. What kind of real differences are you going to have in a pickup tho? It must conform to an even more rigid 3-box approach than cars do.
  20. Terrain doesn't start at $46K, it starts at $25K. Why are we comparing a loaded price to base MSRPs?
  21. Not new; additional. Isn't that your usual judgement- more SUVs? V6 S-class?? Price drop?? Is the world ending soon? Should be all V8 and V-12s and start at $150K. Isn't that your usual judgement- more & higher priced?
  22. And Jag cannot afford to overshoot anything. It's too cartoonish, too Kia-esque. Nose is covered with air intakes & air scoops & air extractors.... puzzling. Doors handles are crazy low- only a few inches higher than the tires. And the 23" rims are pretty visually disproportionate and make it look even stubbier. Some could make a STRONG case that this is 'Jaguar not being what Jaguar is' and trying to be another brand.
  23. Not having been in either... your point is duly noted.
  24. Have to see what configurations, on what bed lengths, and at what option price the MultiGate is going to be. I think as an option (if made so), it's going to be quite expensive- like close to a grand. Bill- what's your off-hip guess at replacement cost for something like this for accident repair?
