Model X came out in beginning of '16 (actually it was summer of '15, but the rate was barely a trickle). But the Model X is flat in sales vs. 2017 (1550 vs. 1575). It's NOT a model preference shift there. What's the possibility the Model 3 is cannibalizing Model S sales?

2016 Tesla Model S US sales were 28,896. 2017 Tesla Model S US sales were 27,060, a decline of 6.5%. Jan-Feb of '18 is running 27% behind where Jan-Feb of '17 were. While I fully realize Tesla's sales swing wildly month-month, is this an indication the Model S is falling out of favor? Myself, I feel the car has gotten long-in-the-tooth; I see then daily i here in Jersey and the design came out in 2012.

Only club music I heard willingly was in strip clubs. But I wasn't really paying attention to the sounds there. I had a long period where I was into 50s rock, but they've made very very little of it since the Beatles broke. Oh, there's been a bunch of underground rockabilly stuff since, but it doesn't have staying power with me anymore. Then again, this would sound pretty cool oozing from a rolling B-59 coupe.

Volvo News: Polestar Announces Initial Markets for 1 Coupe
balthazar replied to William Maley's topic in Volvo
It does have a semi-formal 'squareness' to the profile that's a bit different from & pleasant relative to the current crop, but the greenhouse totally says 'Mustang' to me. And those wheels are utter crap, but that's a quick fix. -
More power to ya! Some of that 'synth stuff' certainly was catchy, and it's very light so it can be fun. Or so I assume. For the first time in decades, I've made a distinct musical preference change. 'Destructured' is how I think of it. Something soothing about the throb of industrial machinery over distant screaming ~ https://mydeepdark.bandcamp.com/track/deepdark-emily-rose Or perhaps I'm simply in the early stages of a mental delamination. :shrugs:

This is your specific problem. Not every vehicle out there is an intended version/ copy of a mercedes, most OEMs build their own vehicles, for their customers in a given segment. In fact, almost NONE non-MB's are expressly intended to be MB-substitutes. - - - - - The issue with the LC is it's build quality doesn't support it's price; not even close. Toyota seems to believe they can Gee-Whiz you past the details with the overall shape ~

If I may ask- what's the rent on said condo? And am I reading you right- that they charge you $75/mnth to maintain the parking spot?

Hotel rooms do skeeve me out a bit. Once you need/want to rent a vehicle this way more than, say, 5 days a month, you will pay more over time. Maintenance on new vehicles is very minor (I change my oil twice/year), and my insurance (not at all minimal coverage) is a little over $2/day. These are not oppressive costs. The vast majority of people don't pay to park their personal vehicle. I dunno- this doesn't make fiscal sense to me, but everyone's situations are different. Inner city use seems to be the only scenario that makes sense; maybe that's the only areas these services are offered (I didn't read into it).

$110/day is a $3300/month car payment. In other words; for what you pay for a BMW daily rental, you get a car for about 3 days/mnth, OR you could get a car for 30 days/mnth for the same money.

Buick News: Buick To Drop Name Badge Beginning in 2019
balthazar replied to William Maley's topic in Buick
That's what was said, but at that time I don't know if there was more than 1 model Buick built in BOTH markets... so there was little logistical reason behind that explanation I could see. -
There's a TON of awkwardness on this car's exterior for me.

Buick News: Buick To Drop Name Badge Beginning in 2019

Same here- asked my wife one day driving behind a slow-poking MB what she thought it meant and yep; she hesitantly guessed '4-speed automatic'. -
Ironically, the LC is outselling the LS, which only moved 116 units in Jan. The big lexyota is on it's way out. I expressed my issues with the exterior design of the LC when it came out- it has fatal stylistic flaws in some views that make it appear 'broken backed' (no pun/insinuation there). Performance may be very good, but I do believe it is vastly overpriced. Sold 176 units in Jan.- would not hold my breath that greatly improves.

I wonder how many motorists think '4-matic' means '4-speed automatic'? -

Golden Sahara II, originally built & shown by George Barris out of a '53 Lincoln Capri circa '56, rebuilt & improved circa '60, had such advanced features as automatic braking. World known & beloved in custom car circles, disappeared from public view in 1969. Survived in private collection ever since, owner passed last year, GS II coming to auction in May. Going to be very expensive... • Full story here •

Buick News: Buick To Drop Name Badge Beginning in 2019

That's nonsense. But since you mention it, I wonder how much mercedes saves by not writing out the model name on 2.3 million vehicles annually. After all, if a "BUICK' badge costs GM $2, such a badge from Daimler must cost $500 each, right? 'Priced Like No Other' ™ -
Buick News: Buick To Drop Name Badge Beginning in 2019

No offense, but I don't see any logic in this. Buick sold 220K in the US in '17- that's greater than a large number of other brands for whom no one talks about them going belly up.
