  1. See, that's what I say: exclusivity is a cornerstone of luxury. Once everyone has one (S-class), it's no longer special. If they could, MB would sell 20,000 S-classes a month and see absolutely nothing wrong with that.
  2. You ALWAYS leave Ram out of this oft-repeated proclamation. What needs to go is fiat & alfa.
  3. Wow, I believe I predicted "under 200" units for the A8, but it almost is under a hundred! Feb will be double digits. The US market for the A8 is dead.
  4. Once again; BMW could take their 9 car models and pare them down to just 2. 7-series is swirling the drain, only holding back out of reference in allowing the A8 to go down first.
  5. Wonder how much Daimler makes off licensing adhesive-backed 'AMG' letters- I see them on a LOT of non AMG mercedes (and a lot of non-mercedes). Might turn out to be as lucrative as Harley Davidson swag.
  6. Looks like the SIlverado outsold the Equinox, Tahoe & Trax combined. You could argue Chevy could replace those 3 CUVs with 1 pickup, and it will probably happen.
  7. Dodge proposal sketch circa 1966.
  8. Recent satellite image broadcast back from Mars, spotted something up there :
  9. What makes you think OH, Cubie? EDIT : googled the truck lettering... unless you knew 'Canal Fulton'.
  10. Here's a couple articles- maybe the link is among them: https://www.hemmings.com/blog/?p=131622 https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2017/09/05/rob-idas-tucker-torpedo-to-debut-at-aaca-museums-night-at-the-museum/ Facebook pages: https://www.facebook.com/PrestonTuckerLlc/?ref=br_rs https://www.facebook.com/rob.ida.7
  11. You only see potential in ONE way, apparently.
  12. There's really not a lot separating dealerships on a physical basis. If they from the same relative period in time, nissan to mercedes pretty much gives the same vibes/impressions, at least in my experience. The local MB dealer is a mega-brand dealer with a lot of add-on buildings; not particularly upscale. There aren't really any really dated dealerships in central Jersey that I can think of.
  13. dfelt, yer needle's stuck.
  14. '47 Tucker Torpedo prototype being built in 1:1 scale for the first time ever.
  15. I guess as a household that buys new rather infrequently, I've never gotten the 'dealership experience' thing. Last time my wife bought new, the whole transaction took maybe an hour. I'd rather have a free wheel upgrade than pastries & mood music. Cadillac dealer by me was an Olds-Cad store on a back street since the '60s. Wife got her Intrigue there, dealer was quite dated, but again, the time spent there was inconsequential. They build a new building on a major highway & moved, but in '08-09 it closed. The local Ford-Linc/ Buick-GMC-Pontiac/ Chevy dealer bought them, and for a few years Cadillac & Chevy were in the same building, but a few years back they built a stand-alone Caddy store/service department. Haven't been in there yet.
  16. Tesla Roadster is going to be the quickest car on the PLANET of Mars.
  17. I believe it was intended to be an Olds and was inked circa '68.
  18. OK, what I found fascinating is that the pic showed a 1957 Chevrolet having impacted the 1946 Cadillac Interceptor concept. That GM was still doing anything with the at least 11 year old Interceptor that many years later. - - - - -
  19. This is a fascinating photo to me. Obviously: a '57 Chevy. Anyone know the other car?
