  1. In 2010, Cadillac was behind BMW & MB in ATPs, and about $5K above Audi & Lexus. Now Cadillac is still above audi, has increased it's ATP lead over Lexus to $10K, and has surpassed BMW.
  2. Profit is calculated on cost of doing business subtracted from revenue from said business. I only define this because smk seems rather unsure. SMK, why would you care how much profit Cadillac makes?
  3. They're unusual for a Euro 'sports' car- they wear (relatively) oversized tires- makes 'em look purposeful. I can only imagine owner's guidelines for TR6s are for like WWII submarines; under 5'6" only.
  4. I'd like to weigh some of my customers and return them.
  5. unknown vintage Triumph TR6, red, nice shape, parked at auto repair garage. MAN these things were tiny! Gauging; I could not fit a closed fist between the steering wheel and the door panel. No thanks. circa '84 Crossfire Corvette, red, lots of green mold all over it, parked at same facility. But it had jaunty chrome spinners mounted in the dish of the factory AL rims. This crew:
  6. This is sofa king stew pit : http://www.paulstravelpictures.com/2008-2012-GM-Chevrolet-Malibu-Headlight-Bulbs-Replacement-Guide/
  7. A contract is a contract, no?
  8. Some running CT6 numbers thru the 'build' site have reported $96K. I haven't, but in that the TTV8 isn't online yet, clearly that model should crest $100K. And it hasn't been 'Cadillac fans' that have suggested the CT6 is to compete with the s-class, but the Cadillac haters, vi my observation. Cadillac fans, one would think, would take Cadillac PRs to heart, and those have only stated it would NOT compete against the s-class. But price alone doesn't determine what vehicles are cross-shopped (tho it is the primary factor).
  9. Well net > gross… but the posted number is the same. Shared with Merc (tho the air cleaner was unlettered/numbered) - clearly one of the most striking air cleaners ever minted :
  10. The current Silverado's nose really is a jig-saw puzzle of pieces, isn't it? For some reason, I can't stop looking at the seams.
  11. Mixed bag : • I generally don't care for the full-width 'bar' under the chin (dislike it on the ATS), but the way Buick swept it into the corners and (visually) into the lower body lines is very well done. • Beyond tired of the 4-spoke wheel. • Overall interior looks excellent, design-wise. • Tails are expressive without looking like they tried to make that way; they're organic. • Disappointed to see the SweepSpear dropped. • Can't tell for sure, but the Ventiports are looking too de-emphasized IMO. I liked them on the hood; I'd like to see them stamped in to the sheet metal withOUT chrome trim for a change. • Are those 20" rims? •The biggest concern is the Chinese-pics (seen elsewhere) where the LaCrosse looks like it has an enormous frontal overhang. I was looking forward to a profile shot here... Overall interior/exterior grade : 88
  12. Well,… to nitpick, Lincoln will turn 100 in 2020. And they did have a 400-HP engine prior to now- 1958 to be exact.
  13. Now for something completely out of left field. Before the LA Auto Show kicked off, Lincoln surprised everyone with an updated version of the MKZ. The updates begin outside where the front end trades in the split-wing grille for similar look found on the Continental concept. A rounded grille is flanked with narrowed headlights with LEDs. The back is mostly unchanged aside from a new bumper. Inside is a new centerstack with actual buttons for the climate controls and radio. There's a choice of two Revel audio systems and two USB plugs for rear passengers to charge their devices. Under the hood, the MKZ boasts a 2.0L GTDI four-cylinder with 245 horsepower as standard, and a hybrid. But if you want power in your MKZ, then you want the brand new 3.0L GTDI V6 with 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque when equipped with all-wheel drive. Front-wheel drive models will get 350 horsepower. The 3.0 GTDI V6 will have the option of a Driver's Package that adds nineteen-inch wheels, sportier suspension setup, dynamic torque vectoring, Ebony-painted brake calipers, and carbon fiber trim. Lincoln says the 2017 MKZ will begin arriving at dealers next summer. An auto hold feature keeps the car at a complete stop without the driver having to press and hold the brake pedal – making stop-and-go driving more relaxing for MKZ owners. Available enhanced park assist uses ultrasonic sensors to help Lincoln MKZ seamlessly steer itself into a parallel or perpendicular parking spot. The car can assist with park-out as needed. Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection is an available technology that can help avoid some frontal crashes (1), or lessen the severity of such events. Lincoln-exclusive engine provides effortless performance An all-new, Lincoln-exclusive 3.0-liter GTDI V6 leads available engine choices for the new Lincoln MKZ. When paired with an intelligent all-wheel-drive system, the twin-turbocharged engine produces 400 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque (2,3 )for effortless performance and refinement. 14. A $41K range is nothing in this tier and you know it. No one cares about cylinders, just power. This car is at least a class and a half above the XTS- and my prediction is most sales will be in the mid-range, or $75K sticker.
  15. My '04 2500HD weighs around 6200 (with me in it & the rear seat area holding a couple hundred pounds of tools, it's weighed 65xx lbs on the scale at the scrapyard (after the bed was emptied) . I have 1.6 more liters, in the same neighborhood power ratings, yet I average around 16.3 MPG. It's rated for 12K towing. Nissan is a good 10 years behind the benchmark here.
  16. Olds print ad, New York Herald Tribune ~ "Every 30 seconds of every business day another proud owner steps out in a new Oldsmobile. Why is going Olds the going thing? Oldsmobile's stylish look is the most obvious answer. Its famous Rocket performance is another. Ditto its ultra-smooth coil-spring ride and near effortless handling. Is it any wonder that nearly 1,700 people a day are making the move to Olds?" Dealership listing: Bronx (4), Brooklyn (7), Manhattan (4), Queens (6). ~ 1963. Olds model year sales : 476,753
  17. Always found range rovers to be a weird combination of very dated and (the current generation), cartoonish. This amplifies that a bit.

  20. Is it creepy for a guy to tell a young woman (you're on friendly terms with but basically are doing a short-term job for) that she has a 'great phone voice'? Is there any other way to interpret it besides 'you could do phone sex as a fall back'? Just curious…
  21. I'm still leaving my buddy as the lead on the electrical walnut. We talk every day or 2, I've been throwing him some monkey wrenches because I'd like to have turn signals. Truck has an aftermarket turn signal unit… but research so far seems to point to needing dedicated tail lights for turn signals, and I don't want to put 4 lights (plus the 3rd stop) hanging off the rear. I can tell he's getting stressed. May have to shop for a different signal unit. What puzzling about this one (a 'Signal Stat 700') is that it's marked "front" and "rear", NOT 'left' and 'right'. Still puzzling on that one. Here's a pic of a NICE one, mine looks like it's every day of 50 yrs old.
  22. (Not remotely) Amazing you don't harp on the mercedes SL, offering a V6 to start (and still with only 7 gears!). "I thought the SL was supposed to be sporty, offering a V6 doesn't make any sense! Why even bother with the SL400 and 550, just make the SL63 and 65! V8s sound better!"
