  1. Sports players & actors, both professionally playing games for a living, DO get unquestionably get overcompensated (on average). President of the U.S. gets $400K and Tom Cruise gets 20,000K?? That said, if they enter into a contract between 2 agreeing parties for said amount, more power to them. But no taxpayer money should be involved (IE: tax breaks or otherwise for stadiums/ filming locations).
  2. Ahhh, OK. I always thought the Park Avenue above had a grille too small proportionally. Balthy likes wide, toothy grins.
  3. How is the '55 above showing a waterfall grille? Buick did use that cue from '42-54 tho….
  4. B-57 :: B-58 :: B-59 ::
  5. ^ are those numbers including military-contracted vehicles then? I'm not interested in fleet sales.. To clarify : when I say "no one", it's a mockery of those who like to say "no one is buying the CTS" or "no one buys Cadillacs". I mean; if the term is what those commenters felt conveyed their thought, stands to reason when I use it above it means the same thing to them.

  7. Then these are not going to be competitors- miles apart in price range (and cache'). Unless MB is "considering" a wholly new vehicle.
  8. OH COME ON!
  9. Gots lovely haunches, don't it? ~ '54 Plymouth Belmont
  10. G-wagon is embarrassingly old & outdated, plus no one buys them- no good as a basis. What makes no sense is if the GL can be tarted up to $230K (??), and the Bentley is rumored to start around $215; they already overlap (tho one at the base and the other at the top end). Assuming the Bentley can tack another 100K to it, how much can MB really add to a $63K SUV and still sell any?? How many are going to willingly spend -say- $180K over a base GL?? Bentley at least (as ugly as it may be) is unique, it's not something obviously based on something that starts 14 price tiers below. This is starting to sound like Maybach 1.0 all over again; thinly veiled bling packaging that won't move.
  11. ^ You broke your own title guideline already.
  12. ^ According to MBUSA pres- they're going to tart up a rebadged nissan as a LUXURY TRUCK. Break out the frickin' popcorn on this one!
  13. Why is it sloppy work, the result of laziness instead of research, just makes me angry? Does that anger make me a bad person?
  14. ^ That's truncated. The whole tag goes like this : "The Best, or Nothing…. or the commercial van division…. or Nissan!" ™
  15. Maybe it would. Then again, nissan said the same thing when they launched their full-size truck and we all know….. waitaminnit, is a rebadged nissan-benz still in the running? :crazyeyes:

  17. Know what else is rugged, simple and rough as a cob? This : Maybe Chevy should re-introduce it, built to full '69 specs (Camino, I can hear you panting from across the Delaware; calm down; it's not happening!) and build a luxury truck on it.
  18. The G-wagon is much more 'ignoring a platform for 30 years' rather than 'knowing how to do BOF'. lol
