  1. For a long time I thought there were 'weird' elements to the G1 design (the 'pod fins'), but I do think it fits here :
  2. Aren't split rims dangerous as F? There are a lot of different rim designs. this tool is intended for vintage rims that have a seam running perpendicularly; it need to be compressed for mounting/dismounting. Most of the other types of split are seamed radially. The worst is this, often called 'The Widowmaker' : I have rims with retaining rings, they are not considered dangerous, but of course it's always better to be safe than sorry.
  3. Vintage Atlas rim compressor- for split rims (1920-1930s).
  4. Anyone need one of these?
  5. I still think AMC did it better :
  6. Italian design is good (in general) down to about 18 inches from the ground. Below the height of 18-20 inches, they have no earthly idea how to terminate their designs.
  7. C'mon- that is NOT done by train wheelspin. RR rail is incredibly hard steel and I don't believe Jegs sells line locks that work on locomotives.
  8. It's not exactly common knowledge that the 'Michelin Man's name is "Bibendum"… but what even I didn't know is that that name is Latin for "We ought to have a drink". Really puts a spin (no pun intended) on the current 'safety tires' campaign. Michelin ran a contest with multiple prizes with the goal of changing the name, but in that the contest was held in 1922 and the name is still 'Bibendum', I guess nothing more appealing was suggested.
  9. I get your stance, Suav, but 'beautiful shapeless blob' and 'most storied' (??) still seem to miss the mark of simply 'beautiful cars'. My opinion; carry on.
  10. We were on paper-thin ice with the 73 A-body cars as it was, now the thread is officially done with post #40's contributions. Accord? Taurus? Wut? S'OK; I'll start another one, fresh, in the near future.
  11. I can't imagine a conscientious shopper giving serious consideration to the tacoma in light of the 50 million recalled toyoyos over the last 10 years, PLUS the factory buy-back (including 50% over market value 'hush money') to tacoma buyers for 6-some years of rotting frames & bodies.
  12. That's the norm in the truck market, Dave. Recall all the wild predictions about the Tundra/Titan 'Camry-izing' the truck segment?
  13. There's also a pretty big perceptional difference between an in-dash user interface (Sync3) and an out-of-sight transmission.
  14. I don't see why hollow fiberglas columns, 11" x 9-ft, need to weigh 175 lbs each.
  15. Turbine : same thing RE TRQ.
  16. Oh I would. GT, baby :
  17. ^ Blandsville.
  18. Here's some links to start off with: In Nov of 2012, GM marked the occurrence of the 1.5 millionth Duramax engine produced (intro'd in 2001). Here's a chart of diesel emissions limits over a span of years.
  19. ^ Have you see the initial vid from a few years ago, the first Musk unveiling- where the passengers have the squirm their way out of the back like hula dancers? My 'concerns' are the very tight 2nd & 3rd rows, and the "advantage" of 'tight confines' rear gull wing doors, when the fronts are conventional. If Tesla couldn't make all 4 doors gull wing, then it should've been the doors that are opened 90% of the time; the fronts. I'm wondering if once a degree of real world usage gets under consumer's belts, if that's not the turn the sentiment will take. Looking forward to seeing the cargo space too.
  20. Only one I've been in is the Spark- hated it on numerous levels, but room-wise up front it was OK. Would never buy one tho. Would like to see the Sonic. I have no choice of the above list. Outside of that; the one on the right :
