  1. Nooooo.... hence the need for truly full-sized, authentic cars.
  2. I'll take the teardrop over the wedge anyday.
  3. ^ I don't see the stubby deck EVER going away. Back when design was about aesthetics, sure, but now design is completely driven by CAFE.
  4. I'm not buying the rear shot as production-ready, esp considering the front.
  5. You just need to remember when you reel off those all-inclusive global sales numbers, that U.S. aside, the majority of those numbers is very likely fleet sales- the very bane of a luxury reputation.
  6. I like the extended edges that Cadillac has done in varying degrees since the '70s- nice hallmark. But nothing since '64 has been a true fin.
  7. Dang- another good one:
  8. This is a reel of '70s commercials, but the Plymouth commercial at the 3:55 mark I found pretty different, what with the terrain it's seen tackling.
  9. >>"When including dealers and rental-car companies, businesses in Germany accounted for as much as 64 percent of sales in November, according to KBA."<< Still, 64% overall average fleet sales is pathetic- it's propping up their domestic makes.
  10. 2012 audi a8 MSRP : $73,095. Add optional LED headlights, RR seat entertainment, 20" rims, nite vision, & Bang & O system, and that number goes to $87,495. Average transaction price : $69,214. Discount on a8 in this example is $18,281.
  11. Impala deal not struck- buy in too high for building/flipping ($5000), but will keep tabs on it. I mentioned this last month, but here's the pic. I present to you... the Dodgrolet Ramarado :
  12. ^ You know why; manufacturers MUST water down & trade off on their image in order to make more money RIGHT NOW. See the Mercedes 'clah' for example of this.
  13. Click around on trucar; the s600 sticker is 163,805, but the average transaction price was 150,153, a difference of 13,652. S65 difference was $19K. Even the S550 difference is 8,414... but these MSRP numbers do NOT include OPTIONS, so all those figures are going to jack up much higher. Face it, mercedes dealers are forced to heavily discount the s-class to keep them moving. Even so, its harder to lose more cash on a new car purchase than an s-class. Here's a 2011 S65, a car that's BASE MSRP was $211K and look: http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/l-Used-2010-Mercedes-Benz-S-Class-S65-AMG-t37138#listing=48046700 Price marked down from 145K to 134K to 126K. 1+ year old and it can cost the owner EIGHTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS. You'd have to be a financial idiot to buy one.
  14. How much incentives has VW put on the hood of A8s in the past- on pace with mercedes' $13,000 s-class incentive? Would also be interesting to see the fleet sales of the A8 - likely over 50% worldwide.
  15. '68 Impala convertible, red w/ black top & bench seat interior, 250CI / PG, nice straight solid body, will see if a deal can be struck...
  16. ^ Exactly, and you're quite right on the Q-jets. Still, and not knowing exactly how MPG was tested then, perhaps eliminating the 'extra' 2 bbls allowed better MPG. I've heard the 2bbls flow better than the QJs running on just the primaries... but it's still 'wrong' in my book. But why anyone would choose to deny themselves the wonderous rush of the QJ secondaries, I could not possibly understand :
  17. But everything else being equal, CFM is based on CI & max RPM. 455 sucks 55CI more than a 400. 400 seems to be the 'reasonable' limit for 2bbls, but obviously GM thought otherwise. The OEMs were against the wall RE MPG, slapping a 2bbl on is a lot quicker than ramping production up of the various 350s.
  18. "If voting changed anything they'd make it illegal" --> massive win here.
  19. 2014 mercedes s-class.
  20. Kinda boggles the mind thinking of 455 CI sucking thru the 'straw' a 2bbl is at WOT vs. the QJet. 352-435 CFM vs. 750-800.
  21. A hoarder friend years ago had a Heinkel, tho his had "Owl" namplates on it too. I sat in it, pretty neat. Tho a taboo for me, I like a bunch of microcars.
  22. Here in central Jersey, painfully few Sparks to be seen. I've only noticed 2 or 3 out on the road. About the same for the IQ. Smart has been around so long, can't compare the frequency. Sonic is mainstream enough design-wise I would not pick them out. In reference to another thread, I have been affronted by too many jukes tho.
  23. Amazing that people would ignore the Mt Everest of evidence of poor reliability & engineering & continue to buy toyoyos.
  24. I haven't seen anything worth reporting in far too long. Just the usual mass production mainstream plastic boredom pods...
  25. ^ if thats the new colorado, it's too large. Interesting they included the sideviews in the overall width- uncommon. The Dakota was too large, too - small & large is all thats neccessary, so-called mid-size is just a distraction.
