  1. I'm not, but my back is in semi-retirement...
  2. Yea- not sure what's going to 'light the fire' under me to get that started, not feeling the motivation... but perhaps in the spring. I've had the pavers about 5 years now. 16' square patio, plus 35' of walkway - getting tired just thinking about it.
  3. Gotcha. I want to lay a patio in my backyard, with a path around the garage to the driveway.... but I haven't gotten around to it and I already have all the pavers.
  4. You use blend or stone dust (or layers of both) under pavers?
  5. ^ Personally, I cannot get past the tailgate on those, which is inexplicably a few inches short of matching up to the bedsides. I'll just assume the rest of the vehicle is engineered in a similar manner.
  6. Also having plowed a few winters on residential property, I would go for the shortest vehicle- the Wrangler.
  7. I did not anticipate having anything to report today, but that's the beauty of a truck :: Opportunity knocks, and a truck is your doorman. 'Yes, sir', 'Certainly, sir', 'How may I help you today, sir?'. It's a beautiful, professional working relationship.
  8. This morning I picked up 1.4 ton of 3/4-in blend in the 2500HD. The loader dumped it neatly in, but I got to shovel all 1.4 tons out. However, not once did I find the job 'tedious & boring' - I enjoy solving problems, improving my property, and I don't shy away from physical work. Final prep for my container box, maybe coming tomorrow- can't wait.
  9. Yes, but this is the usual pattern of your thinking out loud. If you LIKE the damned thing, go BUY the damned thing!
  10. Oi, the excuses....
  11. Either way, it's great it doesn't have frickin skirts- that body doesn't wear them well. In a related tangent, a buddy gave me a pair of steel aftermarket Foxcraft fender skirts, in excellent shape. After a bit of digging, I found out they were for '68-69 Torino, the last time Foxcraft offered them for that car. Even tho the condition is great, NO ONE is going to want them, and I believe they truly are worthless.
  12. Mmmmmm... '64 Star Chief ! '64 Catalina Sport Coupe! That must be Pontiac Heaven out in AZ.
  13. Well, the answer is simple- it's coded in the VIN. LeMans : 2AD LeMans Sport : 2AF Lux LeMans : 2AG Or, it would also be on the data plate : D37 / F37 / G37
  14. I believe that this is a LeMans Sport. The Lux LeMans had a 'targa' style vinyl top, this one has a full top. The skirts support this ID, too. http://www.lov2xlr8....pt/bilder/7.jpg Brochure page says the Lux has a fold-down armrest on a bench seat, buckets were optional on the Sport. • • • 350 was standard, so the 400 is one option. Vinyl roof (still called 'Cordova in '74?) and the formal quarter windows are another (vs the Colonnade's big quarter glass). EDIT :: I think I can make out the "Luxury LeMans" script on the glove box tho. Strange...
  15. Truck didn't roll anywhere yesterday, but today I did pull an 20-ft trailer on about a 10-mile round trip, transporting about 20 furniture dollies and 4 large commercial stainless steel sinks/table to my house (temporary storage). Didn't get a pic, unfortunately. On the trip home, I also had a half bedload of flotsam & jetsum; 55-gal plastic drum (cut the top off & its a kick-ass garbage can), a free 50-ft garden hose, some unidentified '60s GM rocker trim (used), a vintage Colman cooler, a glass 5-gal water bottle, 4 fire extinguishers (still showing a charge), and a few milk crates of odd-n-ends.
  16. YH is all you need. Assuming its the original 400, that is indeed the 2bbl, 190-hp (moan) 400. Replacing a 400 with a 350 doesn't makes sense on Mars, never mind Earth.
  17. ^ Send them a 'get well' card!
  18. The 3.5/3.7 is aanncciieennt, one has to wonder if there simply isn't the money to develop a new V6 @ nissan. But buying a competitor's engine is 'giving up', IMO.
  19. IMO, and I spend an inordinate amount of time in vintage cars; it's at the far end of the spectrum. You notice it right off when you get in. But like I said- I have no problem with it. The P-60 I have, a 4-dr flattop, is similar; the door openings (ESP the rear) are tight for a car that big, and the hardtop roofline even has me ducking a bit to get in. My buddy is 6'5"- he really had to contort to get in it. He has a driver '67 Catalina 4-dr hardtop, that's far easier to exit/enter.
  20. Hmmm, I can live with that. Of the 2, I do prefer the one with chrome grille/ windshield trim left. Mm-mmmm... chrome....
  21. Today the 2500HD pulled my P-64 Catalina back out of its spot next to my shop. It's been there, I believe, since 1993, and the elements have not been kind to the old girl. I swapped out the one rear tire that no longer held air, but the 2nd one out front would NOT let go of the hub. Without being an easy push, it was Duramax Time. I aired it up, popped her in neutral (she didn't want to even do THAT), and with a length of chain over my 6-ton hitch, she rolled backward about 1.5 car lengths for now. I'm getting prepped for a 15-ft container box to sit right there, so she needs to do a radiused 180 & sit on the other side of the P-60. Both will be stripped this year, the container allowing a more condensed & protected storage facility for the usable/sellable parts, rather than sitting in two 3800-lb piles. Joining those 2 under the axe is the remains of a P-65, which needs to go, too. The container might already be full.
  22. ^ Don't be anti-custom, now!
  23. That's the namesake for the Buick, alright!
  24. ^ She is purty! Can't say I've seen one of that year before. Like the double scoop of Olds? - jest for you!
  25. ^ Understood. He's asking $18K, BTW
