  1. ^ K, and I won't remember that. Saw one of those 'loaf of bread' circa '63 Dodge motor homes, all red, in someone's driveway.
  2. I have always liked this Gen.....
  3. Circa '84 (what year did they come back?) Eldorado convertible, white w/ red interior, top down, EXC condition, for sale in driveway. '55 Ford F-100, full-on red/rust/patina, driver with current plates.
  4. Some people will balk at a tire over 5-6 yrs old, with the recent spate of 'sky-is-falling, tire-is-old' propaganda, so while I personally would disagree; to some the tire is something they would change out rather than drive on.
  5. I kno what you're seeing Moltar, and I got the same question......
  6. ^ Well put, Perv. I see the argument from the 'internet forum contingency', and the handful of people openly shopping in the s-class segment, but EVERYONE ELSE shopping in all the other segments Cadillac is in, I just don't see them caring.
  7. RE the recent '66 Impala discussion.... these seats recently sold on eBay. They were from a '61 Starfire, but (pattern aside) are correct for '59-60 also (of note; they have full metal backs). There were 5 pics, but you absolutely get the picture of their condition. No tricks. Without checking the link / eBay, what would you guess a pair of '59-61 GM buckets, in complete but worn shape, would go for?
  8. '59 does have a chopped windshield, but the doors are correct. All Eldo pieces are in place, too... except the parade boot is custom (streamlined vs the factory piece).
  9. See, I have yet to see the 'trade-up' theory demonstrated. In fact, brand loyalty numbers strictly say otherwise. While I too would LOVE to see another grand Cadillac flagship in their tradition, I find the entire 'people buy a 1-series because of the 7-series' to be wild speculation. In other words, I can completely see the BUSINESS case for competing in the entry, mid, full-size, CUV/SUV segments, and still be totally competitive IN THOSE SEGMENTS, and forgo a few hundred/thousand units/yr at a huge loss. Again- I still am eager to see this proposed Omega flagship, and in the showroom. That's the emotional response...
  10. The wags are NOT going to take kindly to a 'rebadged Chevy' (a Cadillac AND Chevy Omega). Look at the claptrap we endure RE the LaCrosse / XTS for example here...
  11. Holycrap : lookit that '59 Eldorado....
  12. ^ hmmm, that is interesting... and I believe correct. We need a breakout of the split between the 2 now.
  13. I was looking at that very same thing (the hoods) and the Caddy hood is damned close too, but I'll bet subtle differences make them unique enough not to bolt in. I love these 'compilation of brothers' shots.
  14. I actually don't disagree with that, I believe they decided to brand it 'nissan' out of habit, not planning.
  15. Could be that, plus marketing choices. 444/380 5.0L could be in the F-150, too. GTR should be an infiniti, at least according to the number jockeys.
  16. MKS has a 355/350 tune EcoBoost, but is there any reason the 365/420 could not be installed? 420 TRQ is on par with the E550 V8's 443 TRQ.
  17. Ding-Ding, we were talking about cylinders/power, not trucks vs. cars. Vast majority of buyers don't know/care how much power or cylinders it has, as long as it feels 'peppy'. I would like to see the sales breakdown of the -say- e550 vs the other six V6 models- no doubt the majority of e-class cars sold are the V6s. You can't get a V8 in an audi unless you spend nearly $80K. (Sub-A8) Audi buyers can't read their brochures? These things are NOT important to 90% of buyers.
  18. I put about 4 hours on my mom's Cruze earlier this spring- it was a really well dampened, well controlled car. I would have no problem taking it on a long trip.
  19. Sorry, I forgot. 5.0L V8 3.5L EcoBoost
  20. Cubitar ~ >>"And with the thick pillars and tiny windows of today's cars, you may not see them until after you hit 'em...though rear view cameras and proximity sensors help."<< ^ I seldom drive forward on public roads in reverse, so (even if I had) RR view cameras........ ocnblu - pretty sure what's happening is that as cars get smaller & smaller & tighter & tighter, they just make us sit more upright. At some point we'll probably drive while standing. A camry will be 140" long, and 85" tall. Can't wait.
  21. Ford ~ 302 V8 :: 360 HP @ 5500, 380 TRQ @ 4250 214 V6 :: 365 HP @ 5000, 420 TRQ @ 2500 Nope, no competing there.
  22. What are you asking, exactly?
  23. FYI - a 58 CdV is 1.5-in LOWER than the current Camry.
  24. Leaves inside the side glass could just be trapped from opening/closing the door. I believe I see the C-pillar kick-up of a hardtop, the converts didn't have that. The rest of the clues posted here aren't definite enough for me. If it WERE a convert, I could see what appears to be the worse project being implied as the builder, but anyone who knows what a 425A car is should know that car has more potential. Really not sure which it is, and again amazed in 2012 that pics this poor can still be taken.
