  1. The 'old ralleys' were Rally I 's. I too like them a bunch- would've liked to see them continue alongside the Rally IIs. Better yet, I wish the GTO/LeMans 8-lugs had reached RPO status. Whole purpose of the Formula was T/A performance in a stripped-down car. As such I believe the steelies/dog dishes were lighter than the T/A Honeycombs. Also explains the lack of a spoiler (it was available). Later on, the Formula got bogged down with gingerbread.
  2. Hey, it's the source of my user name! 1400 HP- must be a Chevy BB transplant.
  3. I know the TX heat is rough on car interiors, but that's NOT the interior of a 16K mile car. Upholstery is not just split, there's chunks missing. Look at the wear on that gas pedal. Not buying the mileage claim on this one; IMO it's 116K. Still, for a S60S with A/C, I have to give it a Cheer (tho I'd very much so prefer either a CdV or an ES). The coupes with the Florentine roofline are just so dreamy.
  4. Waitaminnit, did toyoyo/lexus just say they were competing with Buick??
  5. From my ads, the Turbo was usually shown with the alloy rims; here the wires seem to clash. Super clean and yes; a very nice design. Cheers.
  6. Scripps-Booth also had a grille design like that at one point, but neither are a match for this one.
  7. Pretty early; smaller car was identified as being a '12-13, with a 90" wheelbase, suggesting a wheelbase circa 140" for the big one. The big Duesenbergs had 142.5" WBs. Would have to be an expensive car at this size, but it still has crank start (Cadillac would debut electric start for '12). Body is pretty disjointed for a manufactured vehicle. I have no guess. Lycoming was an engine manufacturer, not whole vehicles.
  8. H said he wanted a '68- not that common to find. I like the '68s- on the funky side. But I'd prefer the 1st gen, specifically '64, before they bloated up. So you mean he wanted a '68 GP coupe... No convertibles made in ANY year other than '67. While I like the '68 fullsizers, I really don't care for the '68 GPs... Right; there was no misdirection WRT there being a '68 GP droptop.
  9. Saw this where you saw this... I have no idea either. Lack of any sort of windshield sure gives some weight to being 'home-made'.
  10. I refuse to put one in the B-59.
  11. I looked pretty hard at a '55 Clipper Constellation a few years ago- classy, detailed machine. Good to read that 18 Caribbeans got saved, tho. I would not mind a '50s Packard at all.
  12. Yea, I recall reading that was the reason: had to do with the camera/film of the day. I mean, what else could it be, anyway? Nice pics in here!
  13. ^ True, Buick re-registered 'Invicta' and it hasn't happened yet. Names are getting fewer & farther between- grabbing anything not already taken is probably a decent SOP.
  14. ^ As soon as you drag your PC into the driveway, it'll be there!
  15. Not nuts about the name..., but the car is another story. Bring it, Cadillac.
  16. Remolding the clear/tinted acrylic Pontiac wheels runs around a grand.
  17. Please re-direct to pics of said GP.
  18. LAte x-Mas present for Rog:
  19. Yeah, I saw one review that did have it at 40/60. Must be the worse balanced car of the '90s, too. Just saying; it doesn't seem very likely the next one will be anywhere near 50/50. Wonder if they'll be able to move more than 200/yr and give it it's own engine this time?
  20. Last nsx had terrible weight distribution, didn't it? Like 40/60?
  21. ^ Looks like Pontiac used the 'GTO' decals and just snipped the 'O' off, eh? Not sure it would possible to get any closer to The Great One.
  22. >>"This is a major mistake."<< That is it, but not as bad as Ford - they left ALL the front brake shoes & hardware off every single Model T.
  23. Correct, but only if concentrating on using the nameplate as a qualifier. Pontiac also had the Grand Am ('73-75), and the LeMans GT ('73-75, 76-77), both variably available with 400 manuals or 455s. Chevy also had the Laguna S-3, 454 CI in '75, and 400 CI in '76. Olds certainly was not alone. 1975:
