  1. My only CVT experience was in my B-59 and it was also positive.
  2. The Spark is an abomination. I'd prefer it if the Spark wasn't based on the Spark.
  3. a 75- MPH, 35" bed pick-up?? What is mercedes smoking?
  4. This wagon would be an excellent base for a period resto-mod. Has just what I want: no 9-pass jump seat, has factory air, PS & PW, and is the longer WB Bonne. Plus the black/red color combo is a classy perk. Perhaps I can 'protest' someone with an S-class to fund the resto for me by camping out at the foot of his driveway.
  5. The '60s Division projects were amazing- well worthy of a in-depth thread. Olds had some sort of wack-a-do reciprocating/rotating engine, IIRC.
  6. ^ wiper motor. • • This is my #1 favorite P-57, and P-57s are in my top 3 for Pontiacs. 1957 Super Chief Catalina- only way it could be better is if it were a Tri-Power and had a contrasting color in the spear and/or roof. I'll even take the AR TTs. Otherwise, 1001 cheers!
  7. No; you're going to have to gloss over the 'the' and the interpretation you are giving it, Camino... tho you are 'warm' WRT the 'trick' aspect... In other words, I was forced to word it as such....
  8. There are NOT many of this gen Safari left. Oh, to win the lottery (and to play the lottery) and hand off a solid survivor and a fat check & list, only to pick up a completely gone-over / lite resto machine ready to roll.
  9. Add a roof rack and I'm sorely vexxed... :
  10. Oldsmoboi ~ >>"the first or their first?"<< The question was quite purposefully stated...
  11. ^ Well, according to the wiki links, Buick designed the OHV engine and this would be circa 1900. Wiki states OHC/OHV is circa 1920.
  12. Trick question ~ When did Chevrolet build the first DOHC, 4-valve engine?
  13. scion really is a monstrous failure.
  14. The P-64 is a real cherry. Was just daydreaming again today about picking up a '64 Safari for a work 'truck'... still waitin for that ship to come in so I can pull the trigger... on ANYTHING.
  15. ^ Damn straight, but stop talking sense, Z.
  16. Nash wrecker, dealers had 'em. Google image will show a few more.
  17. Yes, they suck.
  18. I have some internal division on making these COEs into pickups. In general, the pick-up sourced beds are too proportionally low IMO. Some of the period wreckers had noticably higher bed sides, which better compliment the height of the cabs: Yea- that 2nd one is a car body, but the point is still illustrated. Overall tho, cheers
  19. I didn't link to the Ramones...
  20. Well, that's all your opinion, and you're in a strict minority there, so what's this statement worth in the Grand Scheme? 6-series is a unique body shell/interior, is it not? I have no idea if it's a shared platform (tho likely it is knowing BMW). Point is, it's a perpetual crappy seller on the average month (Oct '10 : 48 units. Oct '11 : 414). Your metric was 'it isn't worth it if they can't sell over 500 units/month', here's the same metric applied to a company you'd drink the chrome shop sludge residue from, straight. Where is your rant against terrible sales & wastes of corporate funding @ BMW? Their entry-level car sold an embarrassing 679 units in Oct '11 - that's pathetic. How is BMW going to get new customers into the 3-series when the 1 is an utter failure?
  21. Eight toyoyo supras in a convoy going down the highway, basket-handle spoilers, fat tires and loud pipes. 6 black, 1 grey, 1 white.
  22. Oh, come on!
  23. It's not a "Volt with a nicer interior"; it's nothing like toyota's experiment at lexus with the bloated, uber-cheap CT200h - it's a dynamic design that would appeal to those who appreciate such. MPG is a footnote here in what is an emotional attraction. There's much more potential here than cold, factual come-ons. BTW; BMW felt there was a business case to build unique cars in the z4 and 6-series that sell far less than 500 units/mnth (6-series sales in Dec '10 : 70 units)
