faux wod or not it doesnt really matter, to me anyway. i used to think airplane, and even boat interiors looked nice, then i saw a show that revealed to me most of everything in there is fake. the wood isnt real as to save weight. everything in a boat or plane weighs like an ounce to save weight. im not saying thats why caddy did it, but if it doesnt look so bad. why gives a sh*t all in all though it sounded like they liked it. a relatively decent positive review.

Spied: 2008 Chrysler Town & Country [update 11/21]
Mr.Krinkle replied to Variance's topic in Chrysler
i think that its the front end that is going to set off that car/minivan. it kind of looks like it may be bulging a tad bit, across the handles--the waistline if you will... it looks like the shot may be hiding that...the fenders might do something special. maybe. bastards wont show us the whole thing yet. very sneaky indeed, with their little blankets and such. -
--what makes you think thats an enclave?

so, only complete and utter perfection is tolerable. you must run a tight ship then, of course entire and some large portion are not quite the same. go to your dictionary and look up some large portion. lets see what that entry is listed as carbiz used the word disgruntled. that seems to have the clearest resonance around here so far. im reminded of an expression, the more things change the more the stay, well you know the rest of that one. if im reading this correctly, and ithink i am, yourre using 20 year old interviews to back up claims of things that are happening today. thats not very productive. lets just hope they dont let the spaniards back in the pantry.

Toyota replaces exec accused of sexual harassment
Mr.Krinkle replied to regfootball's topic in Toyota
hmmm, 3 out of the 5 other stories about toyota(same manufacturer) are less than glowing. plus the sexual harassment thingy... who thinks anyone will notice or care or feel obligated to make an excuse. i really could not care less, but for a company that could do no wrong, it seems like the floor is weakening... aside from that, the prius is having manufacturing reductions...is this a tactic to increase the already significant premium that this "car"/buggy already commands? they used to pull this $h! with video games, probably still do to some extent. -
Toyota replaces exec accused of sexual harassment
Mr.Krinkle replied to regfootball's topic in Toyota
maybe should be playing less grab ass with the comely young assistants and focus on the cars again. there has been a marked increase in complaints about toyos and hondas regarding sqeaks, rattles, fit & finish, materials etc etc... it may just a matter of time before everything evens out and goes bak to square one. if everyone abondoned gm or benz and winds up in another lemon such as toyota or whatever, where do they go after that? the more of these cars that make it to market the better the chances of finding faults, more likely than not. -
that cant be real. the footage mustve have been doctored....somehow. maybe its teething. good lord.

i just wonder if they thought vw buyers are that brand loyal...i mean, was there a couple somewhere saying, ya know, honey i really like that beetle but the phaeton is more in our price range. people complained that the pontiac bonneville was pricey at 30k...good reviews usually but always concluded with its a little pricey for a pontiac the germans do have balls though...look at i drive for example.

C&G Discussion: Is the Solstice Pontiac's Ticket?
Mr.Krinkle replied to Bimmer325's topic in Heritage Marques
rear drive sporty cars have been suggested as a theme for pontiac for a while now. theres no reason the solstice should have anything to do with the inspiration of such a lineup. how many companies have 2 seat roadsters that translate design wise into larger sedans or coupes? if the question is simply, should pontiac get some new, cool kick ass cars that put the competition to shame then the answer would be an emphatically hell yes. but like i said the solstice is merely a part of that formula...not the formula. -
yeah, its possible... about the solstice, ive only seen 2 so far, a black and a white one. now, the white one i just saw yesterday coming to a four way stop sign. i stopped first and immediately turned my head and paused, probably dropped my jaw a little and just admired the car for a moment.--as this was happening the guy was going to be a penis and jump the sign but then noticed me gawking at his car and quickly stopped and let me go. the car is a real looker and has a great presence to it. of course any company would benefit from having a car like that in its line up...i dont think anyone would disagree about seeing more cars like that from pontiac. at the same time though however, i think they could possibly benefit from a smaller, entry level car. even if it takes away one corolla sale its worth it. (not exactly one-but you get the gist.)
-
how so? i actually formed this opinion out of my own volition. i dont like kool-aid, too sweet and fruity for me...but 25-30k a year. for an entry level pontiac. i just dont see whats the point of looking down your nose about this. i know your not ragging on me, but i dont appreciate you using me as an example, especially since im no where near to being any of those things you mentioned.
-
id have to agree that gotta have implies a cool factor but then i also believe that if you have a family and need to haul their asses around there are gotta have family type cars. or if your concern is economy, a gotta have fuel miser. as far as toyota and style, the two are rarely in the same sentence. in fact, its the plain unassuming looks of the lexus and toyotas that many people aspire to own. not all, but a good number. they just kind of blend in and dont call attention to themselves. it is the reputation and reliability that sells most of their cars. and thats fine for them, but its really not about looks (or it is but just not in the way that you might think. ie. that es is so bitchin lookin!)

First Zeta hits the road in down under testing
Mr.Krinkle replied to hyperv6's topic in General Motors
nah, not really. it looks more like an evolutionary design of the existing holdens. of course with all that camo its kind of bravado to be so definitive with a "unoriginal, bmw looka like claim" expect the american versions to look much different. edit: the current mercedes and japanese luxury cars are also being accused of copying bmw, especially the "bangle-ized" rear end...they say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, too. maybe its me but it seems as if this is where design has taken us. aerodynamically, proportionally--functionality and feasibility. cars are evolutionary as is most technology so at some point you have to expect tings to merge. you remember what happened to the three wheeled car and the biplane. -
ive never fully understood this complaint about too many dealers/divisions. it was always a chevy for the working person, their first car perhaps, then youd geta pontiac as a sign of moving up...buick when youve made it, and if lucky enough the cadillac...and so on. i dont think combining the 3 into 1 channel is such a bad idea either though. chances are if your looking for a buick, either of them, you arent interested in a gmc or pontiac. in a way it does answer the part about too many dealers.
-
no but they did have something about the power steering pump i heard not too long ago. there have been a few comments regarding the steering.
-
aint that the truth...it could always get worse.
-
its an entry level pontiac. they are going to produce about 25-30k a year. whats the big deal? the jimmy had a blazer the firebird/camaro chevy trucks and the cadilac trucks and gmc trucks. i just dont understand how come this bothers so many people. "oh, no...badge engineering strikes again" lock up your kids! what about the ion? someone earlier pointed out that smaller fuel efficient cars are in demand. pontiac draws in different people than chevy does for the most part...so again how does this hurt?
-
actually if they were preparing us for some kind of so called transition, why then would they give them any kind of a car at all? that makes no sense. ...end transmission. could you perhaps clarify by what it is that you mean by style? does anyone here know if the exhaust, steering, and suspension will be tuned differently. little things like that usually get a pontiac touch to them.
-
holy dog $h!! how did i miss this one. subtext? subtext?--yourre even crazier than i first thought. call betty ford or bill white and seek help. seriously, whatever it is there are people that can help you.

is it possible for a car with good fuel economy to ever get a bad review now?
