  1. The latest Motor Trend has a REALLY good writeup on the V6 Camaro.
  2. Wow, -24% on the Camry, bet most of those 24% went and bought a Malibu?!

  5. Yup, a lot of larger 90's GM cars used composite panels. The 4th gen camaro's had all composite except rear qtrs and roof. Now, the cost of steel is getting to the point to where polymer's and plastics are getting more price competitive.
  6. Yup... so did my 1989 Pontiac Bonneville (valve covers). The LSX motors have been polymer intakes since day one. I think the '92 3.8L V-6's intakes were poly as well when they switched to tuned port from SFI. I think they are talking about using polymer's in area that require more heat and stress levels.
  7. yup, fwd.... http://media.gm.com/servlet/GatewayServlet...amp;docid=48589
  8. The interior looks fabulous!!!!!
  9. ... over at www.gm-volt.com Can't seem to get on that site right now... it's swamped I'm sure!
  10. unbelievable! Way to dwell yet some more as this being a "bailout" using "taxpayer dollars". He needs to be informed that this is a Gov't loan with interest! And to say "Toyota, Hyundai and Honda can do it so can Detroit" is so far from the truth of things that he should not be able to write another column in his life. Why don't we ever hear about all the breaks, lack of benefits, lack of unions, ect. ect. that allow Toyundai to "not" have this issue?!!!!
  11. I'm really suprised the Lambda plant in Lansing isn't.... it's only a few years old?!!? I saw it being built. This is great news to hear. I hope they advertise the crap out of it.
  12. New Corolla down over the old stale one... wow!
  13. 29% increase in fleet sales?! ... Huh.
  14. Same basic shape as the Prius, but better looking http://gm-volt.com/2008/09/04/revenge-of-the-honda-insight/
  15. Bingo! Salemen need to simply not act like "salesmen", and act more like customer service reps. There IS a reason saleman have such bad reputations. While there are some good ones out there, most are clueless about the product and the competiters product. Most will hardly let YOU get a word in. The best saleman is one that is a GOOD LISTENER. I couldn't tell you how many times I had to correct a salesman on thier own product that I was looking at. In the past I remember going into a used car dealership after I was told a price on the lot, when sitting inside I could not get a word in, they kept talking right over me and got into telling me about another car they had on another lot. I asked about the car on the lot for the price he told me, he then says "I can't sell that to you at that price".... yup, just a ploy to get me inside the office. Before I knew it the saleman slid a paper over to me and asked me to sign it, and when I acted confused about what just happened he turns to the manager and says "I don't understand, we have just what he's looking for". Are you kidding me? And we are supposed to lighten up because ya got it hard? I wonder why? Why would they even have the perception that a person would sign a buyers agreement on a vehicle sight unseen?! These type of poorly trained salesman are bad for GM, or any car manufacturer. A non brand loyal shopper will never thing to buy that brand again if they have these types of experiences. I've said it before and I'll say it again... GM should have more control over their dealerships.
  16. I for one LIKE the silver accents. I'm limited on monochromatic paint schemes. If everything was one color it'll blend all in and look bland. I remember when the monochromatic paint scheme was an option for the '93 Camaro when it came out. Red mirrors and roof.... wow did that not look right! The black roof and mirrors looked a whole lot better. I do agree about the wheels though... they make or break a vehicle.

  18. It is different than the concept but we all knew that. It has a very clean design from what I can see, and has some nice design cues. The current Prius is ugly. I have not seen a production NG Prius so I can't make a comment about it yet.
  19. nobody know what either car will sell for. But as they say... you get what you pay for.
  20. Just came in to post this.... looks pretty darn good if you ask me!! Awsome looking car from those pics/vid
  21. Well now, here's a pic of the same pic with it specifically saying "Volt" Here's the pic from the ABC news video...
  22. The Volt interior shot from the Charlie Rose show interviews with Lutz showed something quit different in clay form, but nothing says that is what it was going to for sure look like.
  23. According to this article I found, Toyota is doing a last minute switch to Li-Ion's http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...showtopic=24986
  24. Toyota says... "On another front, Toyota’s president has just told reporters his company plans to move up the launch of a test fleet of plug-in Priuses to 2009, whereas previously these were expected to arrive in 2010. He also indicated Toyota is planning for mass production of electric cars in the "early part of next decade." http://gm-volt.com/2008/08/28/volt-competi...-fleet-to-2009/ Lutz' response GM Vice-Chairman Bob Lutz responded to this news in an interview with reporters. He indicated that the race between Toyota and GM to create a plug-in car is “meaningless” as the Chevy Volt and plug-in Prius are too different to compare. He cited the very short range in the Prius and it’s need for gas to go any significant distances. He also said he expects Toyota 2009 plug-in test fleet would be a very small number. On the contrary, the production-version Volt however will be in a large test fleet by late 2009. http://gm-volt.com/2008/08/28/bob-lutz-res...-fleet-in-2009/
  25. LMAO! Yeah those are why huge
