  1. I learned how to use my camera today. I also learned upload photos. I tried to use image shack, but it took too long and I never got a password. These files may be large. I am sending them three at a time until I upload the whole thing. Thank you Ninety Eight Regency
  2. 1995 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight- 6 1992 Oldsmobile Toronado- 6 Total 12 If you had asked me this question and it was 1984, I would have 16.
  3. Wow... That was interesting.. GM is doing what it once did. It has a mix of both RWD and FWD cars. They are not so one side or heavy on one side and light on the other. I see global GM in action here. Everyone gets a share. If it takes sharing architectures to do it, then so be it. GM did this back in the day.
  4. Very good article. If the American public would have the same appreciation, it would be nice. There was a guy from Europe who used to be on this site. He only liked the big American cars and always hoped GM would build new ones. If GM would realize what they have and build it, the public might catch on too. It seems American cars are appreciate more abroad than they are here sometimes..
  5. Red, white, orange, green, light or sky blue, and the color on my Toronado(yellow). The reason I do not care for green is it has been a bad color for me. I was in two accidents with green cars. My favorites: darker shades of blue, black, burgundy(dark cherry), silvers, grays, and a few others.
  6. They offered Bucket seats on the 1977-1981 Bonneville. I know because: I have the brochure and I know some who owned a burgundy one that had bucket seats. It had the seat seats and floor shifter the Grand Prix used back then. It looked like this:
  7. I used top subscribe to some Pontiac magazine. I do not remember which one. I liked it for the articles on Bonneville and Grand Prix and Parisienne. That was the only reason I bought it. I do not remember which one. They used to always talk about new models. They sometimes would get inside GM and show projects GM was thinking about.
  8. I drove one of those. I did not own it. Those were so great cars. That is one of the cars I wanted back in high school. I have fond memories of them. And so you know.. that looks like a Brougham LS too. If it is.. you are in store for something big. The Brougham LS got the Ninety Eight's seats, wheels and grille and other features from the 1980-1984 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight. That was to keep traditional Oldsmobile owners in the showroom after the Ninety Eight went front drive in the spring of 1984 as a 1985 model. Oldsmobile years later did this again when the Ninety Eight was dropped after 1996. They called it Regency the second time around. Regency was around for two years just like Brougham LS. It is easy to tell a Brougham LS from a Brougham: Brougham LS had all red taillamps divided in the middle. Brougham had red and orange taillamps. I later found out the reason why it had orange and red is because they used to sell Oldsmobile abroad successfully. The Brougham LS had had opera lamps on the B pillar. The 5.0 liter 307 V8 was standard on the car too. The Brougham offered the 5.0 Liter V8, but the 3.8 liter V6 was standard. Check this car out. It is 600.00. It looks good, but something has to be wrong with the engine or interior or something to let it go for 600.00 I have seen other Brougham LS go on Ebay for more than 3,200. Check it out.
  9. Not in order: 1 2 4 11 Preferred between 1 and 2 then 4 then 11
  10. You know.. we one day will thank Buick China for showing GM North America the way with Buick. Buick China understands what was Buick was and what a Buick should be. GM North America had no clue. Also notice they are impacting Cadillac too. The SLS over there is why they DTS and STS here are going to become one car. They( GM) is really trying hard to change. This is why they are making common parts, models, platforms globally. This will lead to more products, and less money being spent regionally. It is now global money. The models will differ regionally. Now.. if some foreign country GM sells in that appreciates Oldsmobile would come into play.. LOL! I am thankful for another thing.. Buick China sees the value in the names. Too bad GM North America did not. I think they maybe now. I only Skylarks I have fond memories of are the ones from the 1960's and the ones from the 1980's. That one from the 1980's was so close to Riviera.
  11. Wow... What can you say.. This tells you what kind of place this is if you can come here and talk about this with others. Many others like you before came here and opened up about one thing or another. This is something that heals with time. Nothing can change anything but time. Make sure your daughter gets through this okay and take care of yourself. Be good to each other and do be hateful towards each other. Make it as clean as possible. There is nothing wrong with going back to an ex just as long as you both have changed and matured and see things with open eyes.. Best of luck to you and your family. Never forget who you are in the process of this change.
  12. I like the fuel economy my 3800 Series II gets on my 1995 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight. I like the engine for that and the smoothness.
  13. Good for Cadillac. Nice car. Right size and right price for the class it is in.
  14. You should not have any problems.. I hate to tell you this, but that engine you get will depend on the care it had from the previous owner. The 3800 in my 1992 Oldsmobile Toronado is blown. That is because someone did not take care of the engine and do the maintenance. I will be buying a new 3800 for the car. These engines are usually bullet proof and go a lot of miles.
  15. Thanks for the tip. This is something I need to look into later..
  16. Good for you!! This is great news to hear....
  17. Congrats to you.. I know the work is worth it. I am an academic advisor for two majors at a major university, and I see and hear it all. I see the reward when students finish. I see the things they get through on their long struggle.
  18. Congrats to you. You will need to change the pcv valve and o2 sensor because the one that is on there is not good anymore because of the bad cat. A tune up might be in order too. You check your spark plugs? I am happy for you. You faired better than me. I will hopefully have an update some months from now.
  19. I thought these things were supposed to have great gas mileage? That is no different than any other Suv.... Nice looking though.. I would have to say the Buick is very luxurious, but GMC Acadia seems like the best bet of the three.
  20. I hope you get your cat issues resolved. I hope you do not find out things like I did.
  21. Congrats to your family..
  22. I am having trouble finding the place to to get it from GM. I have looked all over. I found this other company that has a solid reputation for re manufactured engines. http://www.hiperformer.com/distributions.html It actually is cheaper to get a new engine.. Thank guys... It is appreciated..
  23. I got a revelation this morning as I was waking up. I decided what to do about the whole engine issue. It became clear as day as I was walking this morning. I realized I need to get a new engine. The person who had the Toronado before me did not take care of the engine. They have a poor record with vehicles. They knew they messed that engine up. That is why they got rid of the Toronado. The body and everything else is fine. I realized if I fixed that engine I will never get ahead. You have no idea what is wrong with that engine. I will keep fixing and repairing that engine over and over. There are so many things wrong with it. For what I would pay in repairs, I should get another engine and start fresh. I will come out cheaper. That car should have failed the emissions and state inspection. I will get ahead with a new engine. I take good care of cars. Instead of paying for this, and paying for that, That car deserves a fresh start. Think of it as getting a transplant. I have a car. I am going to simplify what I need to do. I will have to ask my mechanic can I have the engine shipped to his shop. I will get a new 3800 V6 engine I will get a new set of Michelin tires I will get a new exhaust system from front to back I will paint the car the color of my choice. There is a lesson in this I want to share with others. The lesson is in our minds we think that there is one way to do something. There is more than one way to do something. It is better you do this now and not later. A open mind and heart leads to understanding.
  24. That is what I realized.. the previous owner did not take care of it. I do not think that they did their oil changes either. That is why that pcv valve clogged up. It could also be a bad radiator or temp sensor: Symptoms of a bad engine coolant temperature sensor are when your temperature gauge rises or drops erratically or when your radiator fan won't shut off. During visual inspection, look for warning signs that should not be ignored as: * Low coolant light * Leaking hoses or pipes * Smell of antifreeze in car * Noisy coolant pump * Corroded or leaking radiator * Coolant in exhaust * Antifreeze leaking into oil Also, test your radiator cap to make sure it is working properly
