  1. hey sweetie, now i KNOW you're talking to me!!! LOL happy birthday josh!
  2. you guys are all so F*****G SERIOUS!!!!!!!!!!! some $h! is funny! 68's right! sometimes you just gotta laugh at life and all that it entails! Jeez, are you getting a nosebleed up there on your soapbox!!!!????????????????
  3. I'm not exactly sure, Jay said he'd been sick for a while, and that his "heart just stopped". I gotta tell you guys, I'm just in shock - I keep waiting for him to pop me an IM and make arrangements for NAIAS.
  4. Hi Guys: Please forgive me springing this on you, i apologize. I just got off messenger with Jay, whom many of you will remember as the partner of Chief, one of our C&G members. Jay informed me that Chief passed away on January 4, 2006. He had been sick for some time, and his heart gave out. I know a lot of you will be as upset as I am. Chief was a member who always had a great outlook on life. His posts were thoughtful, informative, and just plain clever. I for one, learned a lot from him, and looked forward to his posts, and our chats. I am still shocked. I've set up this post to not only let you know the news, but to start a thread in honour of Chief's life. Share a little of how knowing Chief touched you. I know its very little to do for someone, but maybe this post can serve as our very own tribute to the man we all knew and loved. Stacey
  5. NOS, Absolutely not. They just targeted people who were likely to be done paying off their cars and in the dealership's mind, probably ready to enter into a finance contract again. Just a marketing ploy. From time to time, its beneficial to target certain years (ie. contract paid off, warranty runs out) or vehicles (grand am owners, old style grand prix owners) to get some new car sales. I wasn't being sarcastic, I'm seriously going to use parts of that mailing in some future promotion.
  6. well, i live totally inland in canada, so sharks aren't a growing concern around here. but seriously, if one ever appeared at my door, freakin right i'd be scared! this thread made me think about the "land shark" skits on SNL years and years ago. some of the funniest stuff i've ever seen! LOL
  7. NOS, thanks for posting this. We're always looking at new and inventive ways to bring customers in the door. There's some really effective phrasing and word tracks in that letter. Hope you don't mind, I printed it off, and in some way, shape or form, it'll probably make it into one of our promotions aimed at some of our market segment.
  8. I tend to be an equal opportunity offender - no one is safe. My favourite word of all time is F**K, my sales staff always make a motion like they're blowing the air horn on a semi. I blurt out whatever's on my mind (sometimes before I've even thought of it). The one biggest lesson I've learned is that you can say almost anything, joke about almost everything, as long as you SMILE.....
  9. I love a car to sound loud and be able to hear the gears change. I currently only drive brand new refinement, but there was a time when (young and with a huge disposable income!) I would purposely poke holes into the pipe on the back of my Firebird to make it growl. I also had the catalytic converter removed from my Corvette and just ran two straight pipes out the back. Didn't do anything significant but wake up the neighbours, but man, it sounded MEAN!
  10. Excellent looking home! You must be excited to get in there and start enjoying it! Oh, and Lakefire, don't you worry... My first (matrimonial) home had a 5-car garage, it didn't help our marriage at all!! LOL
  11. Share with her this age old advice "when in doubt, SHUT UP!" OR, also appropriate, "don't believe everything you think"
  12. Congrats Josh! Maybe soon you'll be running the world! LOL
  13. Josh: that'd be great! thanks! I always look forward to NAIAS. Great excuse to party....
  14. i ended up doing everything i said i was going to do in the other thread! new year's day: family dinner at my parents house. (prime rib, my dad's a great chef) we watched a movie afterward, played a board game, ended up at home about 11 pm playing xbox with my daughter. We had the 2nd off in lieu of the 1st (being a sunday). Got up early, went to work out, totally vegged ALL DAY LONG - i think i did one load of laundry, that's it! All in all, my holidays were great - very relaxed, lots of good company, lots of great food, lots of good family and friends, i gave lots of great presents, and lots of social alcohol. life is good.
  15. Actually saw a clip from the show on one of those morning shows. At first I was a teeny bit bothered by it too, then I realized I think exactly opposite. I think he's come a long way and looked good. Of course he didn't sound perfect, but one year ago he couldn't even speak? I would suspect he'll act as an inspiration to other stroke victims.
  16. i drive really fast, usually try to keep it 15-20 over, max. i'm very aggressive in my driving style, (especially with a manual transmission) but i never, never anger, and i'm not an asshole. i'm pretty sensible with speed.....
  17. very few mice (but had one last year), and in the summer a bat flew in through my wide open patio door......
  18. First I am going over to Detroit to Mexican Village for dinner and some golden margaritas. Then I am going to the Motely Crue Carnival of Sins concert. It's at the Palace (outside of Detroit). After that we're hitting up the casino in order to really spend (read:lose) some money!
  19. I am assuming the waterloo deaership wasn't where you got your original lease from, but where you're leasing your G6 from, is that right? The new dealership can get a liability report once you give them the liability number TO THE PENNY... That way dealerships can't just call and "guess" at liability to steal customers. If you went to the trouble to call GM, and get your liability quote and give it to the new dealership verbally, they then could call GM and get your liability faxed to them. (At the same time, in fairness, a copy of your liability is faxed to the originating dealer, so don't be surprised if you get a call from the dealership that leased you your cavalier) Hope by now you're enjoying your G6!!
  20. trina, welcome back! i've certainly missed ya on here!
  21. I don't know if you knew this, but I'm a lease retention manager at a pontiac, buick GMC store.... I deal with this stuff and concerns like yours all day long.. Don't worry one bit about it. Of course it applies to early lease termination and returns. Immediate family is almost as good as the originator as far as GM is concerned (ie. visa points transferable, all kinds of good things can be transferred between immediate family members. The lease termination quote (actual numbers) are only available to the lessee or the originating dealership. So they would need you to get the lessee return liability for them. Nothing out of the ordinary, don't be worried! Just sit tight and count the minutes until you park that baby in your driveway! Congratulations on your new G6, you're going to love the vehicle! This will probably be a very long holiday until the dealership reopens!! LOL
  22. ... and the way the car evolves into being from a line drawing also implies that you can just draw your own vehicle into being ...... :P
  23. always work, but then GM is my work! so its totally accepted....
  24. well this thread is about bad gifts you've GIVEN, but i've got a beaut about my best friend. Her name is Barb, her and her hubby Dave have two sons. Well, Dave has a grandma that's a combination of old and cheap. One year she gave their oldest son personalized silverware, with the name "Eric" written on each of the handles. Sad part is, his name is JAKE. She also gave Barb an awful hot pink sweater, which she was regifting since it had a huge coffee stain on the front.
  25. Stang, yeah that's on there. that display was AMAZING btw.......
