  1. I used to work at a parts store, and the thing i noticed was that i had the head gasket set part number memorized. At least twice a week someone would come in with a cavalier that had a blown head gasket. on the other hand though. i would also talk to people who said they had very few issues with thier cars. They seemed very hit or miss to me.
  2. Madison, AL (outside huntsville) Clermont, FL (near orlando)
  3. its a little wierd for sure, but interesting none the less
  4. Absolutley. use the I-6 out of the trailblazer at least
  5. i like Zulehan's idea of making it dakota sized. The fact that the current trucks are not that size is why i still drive a dakota.
  6. Although i agree that hardcore truck buyers care a little less about styling, they still don't want to drive a funky looking truck. If the new tundra take a large amount of market share away from ford or GM i will be completely amazed
  7. Too many ricer style stickers on that car in my opinion
  8. The silveradao can only pull the 10,500 lbs when properly equiped. This means the 6L and the max towing group. With the 5.3l, it has a tow rating much closer to the ram's. The big thing to me is the brakes. the Ram nosedives worse than any other vehicle i have ever driven under heavy braking while the new silverado stops smoothly
  9. Yea but it is only a 6K winch. With a full-size SUV i would use a 10K at least if it were mine
  10. It reminds me of the Sox & Martin race cars from back in the day. I am willing to bet this was the idea behind the paint scheme
  11. This thread is worthless without pics!!!
  12. I think i need to change my underwear now
  13. Scrambler was the name of the CJ-7 based pickup in the 70's and 80's. I think it is a great idea just so long as they make it off-road capable.
  14. Although it would not suprise me to see Toyota try a RWD V8 sports car, i am not sure that the american public would accept such a thing. To most mustang and camaro guys, it would be sacrelige
  15. I also went to one the ride and drive here in FL. I was really impressed with the new silverado. Once i sat in one and started driving it, i was immediately comfortable driving it. The interiors were very nicely laid out and i really liked the two glove boxes in the WT and LT trucks. The pull off was great, it reminded me of how we solved our arguments back home in alabama. So basically my verdict on the new silverado is
  16. Happiness is fishing off the tailgate of a seasoned 4x4 with a cooler full of beer and a fresh pack of smokes.
  17. Found this on autoblog while at work today.pretty sweet. http://www.autoblog.com/2006/10/18/buck-ro...truck-is-ready/ The company that built this is located in my hometown of Madison, AL. In fact, my H.S. chemistry teacher is married to the president of the company.
  18. the concept camaro is also featured in the transformers movie that will be coming out this summer
  19. we have the same choose life tag in alabama. The basic alabama plate is a little dull, but there are several different ones you can get
  20. The solstice soupe is an excellent idea. I think that dealers will have a harder time keeping those on the lot than they currently have. i know i would buy one
  21. I agree totally. It is good to see that the divisions will have a choice whether or not to use a platform. The death of the Pontiac minivan was long overdue.
  22. I think they are great looking trucks, both of them. I am part of the minority i guess because i think the chevy is the better of the two. the GMC is trying to look to "uptown" for me. HD trucks are for work, not style.
  23. I love the old TorqueFlite. I have seen them hold together very well in everything from an old truck to race cars
  24. Im glad to see that there are people out there who really like the car. when i was living in alabama most people hated the car. I loved it after i got used to a charger having four doors. I'm really glad there are people who think like me.
