SSEi Bonneville was a better looking car...more American...probably better fuel economy real world...I would hazard a guess more fun to drive. We have lost ground.

For me I would much rather have an A4 or an older C class Benz

Actually I think Fusion hybrid titanium cpo would be a sweet spot there. Or...if a Fusion Sport ever came up CPO.

If we are talking Jetta Sportwagen still wish it was available in TDI form. Alltrack is cool but I think a dalrs flop for VW.

As an enthusiast....it is kind of hard to find mainstream cars that live up to your expectations. Have been impressed with the Legacy and Camry both as FWD sedans as basic sedans. But neither of them is an Audi A4, GLI Jetta, Kia Stinger, Cadilalc CTS or the like.

Sport touring wagon is an idea I can get behind.

On the un happy side.... https://www.apnews.com/90d6d2b3baba40839d95af1d3ee5569a How many catholic churches are there in Texas....this is huge.

I think Darker Rims would help it...although I am Firmly on the Grand Cherokee side of the fence when it comes to these twins.

I will die a happy man knowing that I have listened to the sound of angels feet and the soundtrack of the gods. This thing is Thor's hammer, polished.

Agreed...but this car offers something unique in terms of AWD, resale, reliability, and Subaru knows how to run a business. Unlike VW and some other companies. And nobody builds a CVT that I like.

I actually think FCA is doing fine in many ways. They are building good products that people want.- 9 replies

I think that IS the rage of the future...or the moment, in cars. Thinking this may be one of the best affordable sedans available.

One in that color Blue lives just around the corner for me. It often sits in the driveway when the weather is better....my wife and I pass by it when I walk at night. You are right...much better in person.

For an affordable sedan, this is a spectacular choice given the AWD system, reliability and resale of Subaru. Makes the Malibu rather irrelevant.

I was kinda thinking fun to drive. The current generation of Dodge trucks are nothing short of spectacular.

That exhaust note would never age. I could drive that car for light years at 55 MPH behind a W body impala....and leave the Galaxy before I tired of it.

All of those passed through my head also. Best value of all of these dollar for dollar...pains me to say it but....Edge ST...hands down.

Holy Sch!%% Sherlock...when you cast shade....you don't eff around. I am glad I am not your wife....I would hate to be in a marital dispute with you. Best come back in twelve years on C and G. Has anyone ever thought that maybe by accepting sub par products from carmakers we enable mediocrity? in 1970...we would not have accepted a badge engineered Opel/Peugeot for a Buick....or a Wreath and Crest slapped on a Pontiac Safari wagon for a Cadillac....but if we accept the GS and the XT6 that is kind of what we are doing.

This is almost hot enough to make me take back every negative comment I have made about Ford...this is utterly amazing.

Both excellent choices.

And I think my problem with this (one of my two favorite Asian cars) is that it is a bargain at a little over 30K for a base model. Same thing with the special edition WRX STI we looked at here in another thread....base WRX is a deal in the twenties....option it up into the 40's as a premium STI and other things are much better use of money. Question for William and everyone else....if you had 45-50K to spend on a car and it could be anything other than a WRX STI or a Stinger....what would it be? New only. Not to derail thread....but I can't help thinking other vehicles would be that much money better spent. Premium Mustang GT for me.
